Embiid did not play in Wednesday’s loss to the Cavaliers due to injury management, with Adem Bona replacing him in the starting lineup. Bona will remain in the rotation on Saturday, and he does not offer much streaming value in that role. However, the second-year forward/center is worth holding onto in extremely deep leagues, as the 76ers face the Pistons on Sunday.

Walsh came into November as a forgotten man in Boston’s rotation, playing just four total minutes in October. However, he played 19 minutes against the Rockets on Saturday and then was up to 24 minutes on Wednesday. These were not garbage-time minutes either, as Walsh checked into the game in the first quarter. He was a plus-27 on the night and received praise from head coach Joe Mazzulla after the game, so it’s possible that Walsh could pick up extra minutes at the expense of Hugo Gonzalez and Baylor Scheierman going forward.

For the third time this season, Simons made at least four three-pointers in a game. Field-goal percentage and assists have been the issues for him thus far, with the Celtics guard shooting 41.2 percent and averaging a career-low 1.6 assists per game. By comparison, he’s a career 43 percent shooter and averages 3.2 assists. Given the production, he probably should not be rostered in 87 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Jaylen Brown wasn’t the only Celtic to make history during Wednesday’s rout of the Wizards. Queta became the first player in franchise history to record at least 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while not missing a shot from the field in a game. Rostered in 29 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he’s providing seventh-round value in nine-cat formats. What may be holding that percentage down is the playing time, as Queta has not surpassed 26 minutes in any game. He’ll be far more popular among fantasy managers if the minutes increase.

Only one of Boston’s five starters, Josh Minott, surpassed 30 minutes on Wednesday. Brown only played 26 and was outstanding, shooting well over 50 percent from the field. And he made some history, becoming the first player in Celtics history to record at least 35 points, five rebounds and five assists in less than 30 minutes of play. Brown did not play at all during the fourth quarter, getting some valuable rest ahead of Friday’s game against the Magic.

While Minott can still have bouts of inconsistency, he’s developing into a player who should be considered in more fantasy leagues. Wednesday’s performance was his best, with the forward notching a career-high point total and three steals. Minott is rostered in 15 percent of Yahoo! leagues, and, understandably, some are hesitant to buy into him fully. But the potential to have nights like Wednesday may entice some to roll the dice on him.

Maxey tried to keep this one close, but simply didn’t have enough help from his teammates. Outside of himself and Quinten Grimes, who had 27 points in 32 minutes off the bench, no one else had at least 20 points for the 76ers. Joel Embiid was out along with Paul George and VJ Edgecombe scored just seven points. The 76ers fell to 5-3, but the silver lining is that Maxey’s production didn’t suffer.

Edgecombe had his first dud of the season and thus of his career. The 20-year-old rookie had seven points on 14 attempts from the field. It’s the first time this year he’s failed to reach double digits in scoring. Edgecombe will of course bounce back from a rough performance against one of the best teams in the conference, but he’s had 17 points or less in five consecutive games since scoring at least 25 points in two of the first three games of the year.

To no one’s surprise, McCain looked a bit rusty in his first appearance of the season. And with the second-year guard being under a minutes restriction, there wasn’t much time for McCain to establish a rhythm offensively. While his return bumped Justin Edwards (DNP-CD) out of the rotation entirely, VJ Edgecombe (12/11/4/2 with three three-pointers) played 38 minutes and fellow reserve Quentin Grimes (10/3/4/4/1) logged 30. Oubre continues to provide excellent fantasy value, and according to Basketball Monster, he’s approaching the top-25 in nine-cat formats. While the rebounds were limited on Tuesday, the Tsunami Papi was efficient offensively and recorded four “stocks.” Oubre’s rostered in 42 percent of Yahoo! leagues and is worth adding until Paul George (knee) returns and can take on a full workload. Embiid’s performance on Tuesday was a tale of two halves. In the first 24 minutes, he shot 6-of-9 from the field and scored 18 points. After halftime, the 7-footer shot 1-of-12 from the field and scored just two points. Embiid wasn’t moving well, spending most of his time on the perimeter. He’s still restricted, playing 13 minutes in each half of Tuesday’s game. However, the second half was a clear reminder that Embiid has a long way to go regarding his health and stamina. Pritchard was expected to pop this season as a starter, and while he has been able to occupy that role, he hasn’t been as productive as many hoped. Last season, he averaged 3.2 three-pointers per game, but this was the first game this year that he hit more than two shots from deep. This was a solid response from Brown after he was held to just 12 points in Boston’s last game, which came after two straight 30-point outings. Hauser played 28 minutes to Minott’s 15, and it’s worth keeping an eye on to see if this is a move that will carry over into the Celtics’ game against the Wizards on Wednesday, or if this was just a result of Minott being in foul trouble again. Grimes had one of his best all-around games as a pro on Sunday, dishing out a career-high 13 assists while scoring efficiently. Despite coming off the bench, he’s providing fifth-round value in eight-cat formats, far exceeding the expectations of most fantasy managers. Grimes has benefited from the absences of Jared McCain and Paul George, so it’s fair to question his fantasy value once the 76ers are whole. He goes into Week 3 providing top-5 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Oubre put on a show during the first quarter of Sunday’s game, scoring 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. Cam Thomas was guarding him for most of that run, and Thomas has never been known for his defensive ability. Oubre was comparatively quiet for the rest of the night, but the damage had been done. The only negative was that he tweaked his ankle during the second half. While Oubre could have returned, there was no need to risk it with the 76ers up big. The “Tsunami Papi” continues to exceed expectations in fantasy basketball, providing top-50 value in nine-cat formats. Minott continues to provide a spark in his Celtics debut as he’s found a way to contribute across the board for fantasy purposes. He’s been a bit streaky as a shooter, but he’s done a nice job chipping in from a defense and rebounding standpoint thanks to his athleticism and motor. He’s worthy of a speculative roster spot in deeper fantasy leagues as he’ll remain a key component of the new-look Celtics’ rotation moving forward. After falling one rebound shy of a double-double in Monday’s win over the Pelicans, his first start as a Celtic, Minott was even better on the glass against Cleveland. Not only were his 14 rebounds a career-high, but this was also the second time in his career that Minott had reached double digits in that category (February 8, 2023, with the Timberwolves). Hugo González, who was replaced in the lineup by Minott, only played three minutes on Wednesday. Only rostered in three percent of Yahoo! leagues, Minott is providing top-50 fantasy value. Following Sunday’s loss to the Pistons, Brown said he planned on playing in Monday’s game. However, the Celtics have listed him as questionable on the injury report, with left hamstring strain reconditioning being the reason. With the Celtics off to their worst start since the 2013-14 season, there’s likely a strong desire on Brown’s part to play. However, he’s averaging 35.7 minutes per game, which would be his highest average since the 2022-23 campaign if that were to hold. Derrick White, Payton Pritchard and Anfernee Simons will shoulder even more of the offensive workload if Brown sits.
