Saturday’s game is the second in as many nights for the Nets. As a result, Cam Thomas will not play after returning from a hamstring injury on Friday. His absence means Keon Johnson returns to the starting lineup. While Johnson hasn’t shot the ball well, the overall production makes him worth rostering when allowed to start.

Watford played just 16 minutes in the Nets’ loss to the Trail Blazers Friday. The 24-year-old power forward is out Saturday with left hamstring injury management, which could mean he won’t be playing both games of a back-to-back in the near future. Watford can provide deep league value when the opportunity for more minutes presents itself.

Thomas returned from a hamstring injury that kept him out for almost two months Friday, but the Nets are going to manage the 23-year-old shooting guard’s injury and he will sit out the second leg of the back-to-back against the Pistons. Keon Johnson will likely move back into the starting lineup with Thomas out.

Thomas started, but played only 21 minutes as the Nets lost by 19 points Friday. The 23-year-old shooting guard had been out for almost two months with a hamstring injury. While his minutes should only increase from here, Thomas can put up points in a short amount of time on the floor. He had 16 points against Portland while missing all four of his 3-point attempts. It should only get better from here for Thomas.

The 17th overall pick in the 2023 draft, Hood-Schifino struggled with injuries during his time with the Lakers. He was traded to the Jazz as part of the Luka Doncic/Anthony Davis deal, with Utah waiving him shortly thereafter. Hood-Schifino now heads to Philadelphia, and there may be opportunities to play if the 76ers decide to shut down their proven veterans. The 76ers have waived David Roddy to free up a roster spot for Hood-Schifino.

Claxton is back after serving a one-game suspension on Wednesday, meaning Day’Ron Sharpe will head to the bench. The more notable change is Thomas, who is back after missing nearly two months with a hamstring injury. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect too much from him immediately, but Thomas doesn’t need much time to explode offensively. Due to his return, Keon Johnson heads to the bench, where his fantasy value takes a hit.

Yabusele will be available after a right eye abrasion sidelined him for Wednesday’s loss to the Knicks. Whether he returns to the starting lineup or serves as Andre Drummond’s backup, reliable minutes will be available for Yabusele with Joel Embiid (knee) out for the rest of the season. Adem Bona’s playing time may take a hit, but the rookie will be more valuable if the 76ers decide to shut everyone down.

Saturday’s game will be the sixth straight Lowry has missed due to right hip injury management. Tyrese Maxey has consistently exceeded 40 minutes as the starter, while rookie Justin Edwards played 28 minutes off the bench in Wednesday’s loss to the Knicks. Expect more of the same on Saturday.

After consulting top specialists, the 76ers determined that Embiid is medically unable to play and will miss the rest of the season, according to a team statement. The two sides will continue working with medical experts to determine a treatment plan going forward. The 30-year-old center played against the Celtics and Nets last week, but didn’t look like himself out there. With Embiid shutdown for the rest of the season, Guerschon Yabusele and Andre Drummond will handle the center minutes in Philadelphia. Drummond is still available in most leagues and worth adding.

Embiid is set to miss his third consecutive game on Saturday while 76ers brass works on a plan of action for him. Philadelphia will likely start Andre Drummond or Guerschon Yabusele against the Dubs.

The Nets are calling this “right knee soreness.” It’s unclear how long it will keep him sidelined, but Whitehead’s absence won’t have an impact on their immediate rotation. He is certainly a candidate to play a larger role down the stretch of the season if healthy.

Thomas, who hasn’t played since January 2, will make his return against Portland after missing nearly two months. Thomas has been a starter for most of the season, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he came off the bench and was on a strict minutes restriction. Eventually, Thomas will likely overtake Keon Johnson and Tyrese Martin in the rotation, though the Nets will likely be careful with him to avoid further injury.

Gordon had an underwhelming first season with the 76ers. The sharpshooter was been efficient from deep but is set to finish the year averaging less than 11.0 points per game for the first time in his career. It appears he won’t play again unless Philadelphia makes a playoff push based on this timeline. Gordon, 36, holds a player option for the 2025-26 season and appears likely to pick it up based on how this season ended.

Williams has hit double figures in points in four straight and five of his last six games, one reason why he’s provided sixth-round value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. Also, Wednesday’s double-double was Williams’ second of the season. He’s rostered in 11 percent of Yahoo! leagues, which may increase based on the recent production. Something that may boost Williams’ fantasy value later this season would be the Nets deciding to limit Cameron Johnson’s minutes, but that isn’t guaranteed to happen. Johnson finished Wednesday’s defeat with 19 points, three rebounds, seven assists, one steal and four three-pointers in 33 minutes.

Currently on a 10-day contract, Hayes has his best game as a Net on Wednesday. The 7-of-13 night from the field included Hayes shooting 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. He’s a career 27.6 percent shooter from three, so fantasy managers need to keep this night in perspective. However, Wednesday’s performance may improve Hayes’ chances of getting a second 10-day, especially if D’Angelo Russell (ankle) remains out.

Starting for the suspended Nic Claxton, Sharpe had the best game of his NBA career on Wednesday. He established season-highs in points (25) and rebounds (16), with the former also being a career-high. Also, this was just Sharpe’s fourth 20-point game as a professional and first since March 2023. This night won’t change much in the short term, as Claxton will be eligible for Friday’s game against the Trail Blazers. However, fantasy managers should file this away for the “silly season,” especially if Noah Clowney doesn’t return from his ankle injury anytime soon.

George announced earlier Wednesday that he would put his podcast on hiatus to focus on getting the 76ers back on track, but that wasn’t enough to keep the team from losing a ninth straight game. However, George’s stat line against the Knicks was solid by fantasy standards, as he shot 45 percent from the field and finished one blocked shot shy of a complete line. Over the past two weeks, George has provided third-round value in eight-cat formats. However, he and the 76ers face a challenging climb for the rest of the season, especially if Joel Embiid (knee) cannot return anytime soon.

Maxey finished Wednesday’s defeat with a gaudy point tally, the tenth time in 14 games that he’s scored at least 30 points. However, it’s clear that Maxey’s injured pinky finger on his right (shooting) hand is having an impact. The 76ers guard missed all 10 of his three-point attempts Wednesday night, but the Knicks could not stay in front of him defensively. With Philadelphia suffering a ninth consecutive defeat, it’s fair to question if there will be a point when the team uses Maxey’s finger injury as a reason to shut him down. We haven’t reached that point yet, which is good news for those who have him rostered.

With Joel Embiid (knee) and Guerschon Yabusele (eye) out, Drummond moved into the starting lineup Wednesday night. While the scoring output was limited, the rebounds, assists and steals can be helpful to deep-league managers. During the game, ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth reported that there may be more clarity regarding Embiid’s status coming within the next 48 hours, which will impact Drummond’s fantasy prospects for the rest of the season. Rostered in 11 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he may become a “must-add” player by the end of Week 17.

In an infuriating season for 76ers fans, Oubre has been one of the few bright spots. And he’s come through for fantasy managers recently, providing sixth-round value in eight-cat formats over the past three weeks. Oubre scored 19 points in the first half of Wednesday’s loss, keeping the 76ers within striking distance before Tyrese Maxey got going (inside the arc, at least) after halftime. Oubre is rostered in 67 percent of Yahoo! leagues, and that number may increase if Joel Embiid (knee) gets shut down for the rest of the season.

Starting center Nic Claxton is serving a one-game suspension after recording his sixth flagrant foul point of the season during Monday’s loss to the Wizards. Sharpe will move into the starting lineup, raising his fantasy ceiling despite the difficulty of this matchup. He’s worth streaming with Claxton and Noah Clowney unavailable.

Grimes is available after injuring his knee during Monday’s loss to the Bulls, and he has been a consistent starter recently. Look for him to retain that role against the team that selected him in the 2021 draft. As for Edwards, the rookie can provide value off the bench, and he may be increasingly valuable during the “silly season.”

Whitehead’s absence does not impact fantasy basketball, as he is not in the Nets’ rotation when healthy. Hopefully, this is not an injury that keeps him out for an extended period, as there may be “silly season” opportunities for Whitehead if the Nets aren’t in contention for a play-in spot.

Johnson will shake off a questionable tag and play against OKC at Barclays. He’s come on strong as Brooklyn’s go-to scoring option, and he should continue to operate in that manner on Wednesday.
