Maxey’s scoring production over the last few weeks has been inconsistent, which is surprising after his dominant run in January. Maxey scored an inefficient 30 points in Wednesday’s loss to the Knicks, but he tied his season-low for scoring on Saturday, which he initially set in his final appearance before the All-Star break. Maxey has been dealing with an injury to his right pinky finger which is clearly impacting his ability to shoot the ball. He has only hit one three-pointer over his last three games and has shot 30.4 percent from the floor during that stretch. Still, he was able to provide some assist value to make up for his lack of scoring on Saturday.

Drummond remained in the starting lineup for Philadelphia just one day after it was announced that Joel Embiid (knee) would miss the rest of the season. Drummond is currently rostered in 27 percent of Yahoo! leagues, but that will likely change quickly. He only needed 21 minutes to record a double-double and lead both teams in rebounding. Guerschon Yabusele filled out the other 27 minutes at center and contributed 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and five three-pointers. Both should be considered must-roster players for the rest of the season.

With Philadelphia’s stars struggling, Grimes stepped up and had the best game of his career. He entered halftime with 20 points while making eight of his nine shot attempts, and he was able to maintain a high level of efficiency after the break. Unfortunately, his success from the floor wasn’t replicated at the foul line, even though that is supposed to be the easier shot. Grimes is coming off scoring just three points in a loss to the Knicks, so this was an incredibly bounce back performance. Grimes should remain an important part of Philadelphia’s rotation for the rest of the season, making him an excellent option in fantasy basketball.

On the final day of his 10-day contract, Hayes returned to the city where his NBA career began. The former lottery pick struggled against the team that drafted him, shooting 1-of-6 from the field while providing modest production in the rebound and assist categories. The Nets will have a decision to make regarding Killian. The health of D’Angelo Russell will likely influence the Nets’ decision regarding Hayes. Reece Beekman (3/1/1/3 in 26 minutes) may figure more prominently in the bench rotation if the Nets do not re-sign Hayes and Russell remains out.

As has been the case since he cracked the Nets’ rotation, Johnson had another game in which he shot poorly but provided value in other areas. The 20 percent night from the field won’t help category league managers on the verge of losing that category, but Johnson did grab eight rebounds and hit two three-pointers. Rostered in 19 percent of Yahoo leagues, he has provided eighth-round value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. However, his value moving forward depends on how much Cam Thomas plays. While he did not play on Saturday, Thomas did replace Johnson in the starting lineup for Friday’s loss to the Thunder.

Johnson had a brutal shooting night in Detroit, which included going 0-of-10 from beyond the arc. His streak of 60 consecutive games, the second-longest in franchise history, ended in brutal fashion. Due to poor performance, Johnson has become a 10th-round player in nine-cat formants over the past two weeks. He’ll look to bounce back on Tuesday when the Nets visit the Spurs.

On a night when Cameron Johnson, Keon Johnson and Ziaire Williams combined to shoot 11-of-49 from the field, Martin was among the few bright spots for the Nets. The 23 points are the most he’s scored since November 27, when he tallied a career-high 30 against the Suns. While this one performance doesn’t make Martin a player who should be rostered in most fantasy leagues, it does put him on the radar for the “silly season.” The Nets played Saturday without Cam Thomas, which freed up additional scoring opportunities.

While his minutes should only increase from here, Thomas can put up points in a short amount of time on the floor. He had 16 points against Portland while missing all four of his 3-point attempts. It should only get better from here for Thomas.

The 17th overall pick in the 2023 draft, Hood-Schifino struggled with injuries during his time with the Lakers. He was traded to the Jazz as part of the Luka Doncic/Anthony Davis deal, with Utah waiving him shortly thereafter. Hood-Schifino now heads to Philadelphia, and there may be opportunities to play if the 76ers decide to shut down their proven veterans. The 76ers have waived David Roddy to free up a roster spot for Hood-Schifino.

After consulting top specialists, the 76ers determined that Embiid is medically unable to play and will miss the rest of the season, according to a team statement. The two sides will continue working with medical experts to determine a treatment plan going forward. The 30-year-old center played against the Celtics and Nets last week, but didn’t look like himself out there. With Embiid shutdown for the rest of the season, Guerschon Yabusele and Andre Drummond will handle the center minutes in Philadelphia. Drummond is still available in most leagues and worth adding.

It appears he won’t play again unless Philadelphia makes a playoff push based on this timeline. Also, Wednesday’s double-double was Williams’ second of the season. He’s rostered in 11 percent of Yahoo! leagues, which may increase based on the recent production. Something that may boost Williams’ fantasy value later this season would be the Nets deciding to limit Cameron Johnson’s minutes, but that isn’t guaranteed to happen. Starting for the suspended Nic Claxton, Sharpe had the best game of his NBA career on Wednesday. He established season-highs in points (25) and rebounds (16), with the former also being a career-high. Also, this was just Sharpe’s fourth 20-point game as a professional and first since March 2023. This night won’t change much in the short term, as Claxton will be eligible for Friday’s game against the Trail Blazers. However, fantasy managers should file this away for the “silly season,” especially if Noah Clowney doesn’t return from his ankle injury anytime soon.

However, it’s clear that Maxey’s injured pinky finger on his right (shooting) hand is having an impact. The 76ers guard missed all 10 of his three-point attempts Wednesday night, but the Knicks could not stay in front of him defensively. With Philadelphia suffering a ninth consecutive defeat, it’s fair to question if there will be a point when the team uses Maxey’s finger injury as a reason to shut him down. We haven’t reached that point yet, which is good news for those who have him rostered.
