Minott had strong stretch with the Celtics earlier this season, but he hasn’t done much with his minutes since he was traded to Brooklyn. However, he shined in this game with a well-rounded, productive stat line. Michael Porter Jr. (ankle) was sidelined for this game, which may have led to Minott taking on a few extra minutes. He has proven that he can be productive when he gets the minutes, but they haven’t come consistently enough for him to be worth adding at this point.

Embiid has missed Philadelphia’s last six games with a strained oblique, and five games last month with a knee injury. To say that the 76ers have struggled in the former MVP’s absence would be an understatement, especially since Tyrese Maxey went down with a finger injury. For Thursday’s loss to the Pistons, the 76ers didn’t have Andre Drummond or Adem Bona, either. Dominick Barlow served as the starting center, finishing with 11 points, four rebounds, two steals, one block and one three-pointer.

After a solid showing in Tuesday’s win over the Grizzlies, his first after a three-game absence with a back injury, Edgecombe struggled in Detroit. Not only did he miss all five of his three-point attempts, but the rookie shot 3-of-9 from two and did not record an assist. Saturday’s matchup with the Nets should be far more forgiving for Edgecombe, as Brooklyn is headed back to the draft lottery.

Once again used in a reserve role, Payne’s streak of consecutive made three-pointers ended at 10 during Thursday’s defeat. He still had a solid night scoring-wise, but those who have streamed him may have hoped for a better assist tally. The 76ers’ many absences freed up opportunities for players who normally would not be guaranteed rotation minutes, including Beauchamp. This is a rough turn for fantasy managers who targeted Sharpe for the silly season. Payne was pushed back to the bench with VJ Edgecombe (back) available, but he still played an important role off the bench. He had a monster first half, scoring 16 points with four three-pointers without missing a shot while also adding three stocks. Though he didn’t remain perfect from the floor, he did remain perfect from deep and the free throw line in what ended up being an incredible performance from Payne. This was the first time in franchise history that a player made at least eight triples without missing, and he became the first 76ers reserve to finish with at least 30 points and 10 assists while coming off the bench. The 31-year-old who signed a standard deal to return to the NBA during the All-Star break ended up setting new career highs for both points and three-pointers. With Tyrese Maxey (pinky) set to be re-evaluated in three weeks, Payne will be an important piece for the 76ers for the rest of this month and should be considered a must-roster player after this performance.

In five games this month, Traoré has hit double figures in points in three of them, including Monday’s win over the Grizzlies. What stood out from the rookie guard’s performance was his work from beyond the arc, with Traoré making a season-high four three-pointers on five attempts. He entered Monday having shot 4-of-12 in his previous four games. For the season, Traoré is shooting a little over 32 percent from three, so it’s too early to expect nights like Monday to become the norm. Even though Danny Wolf was the Nets player called upon to fill in for Michael Porter Jr. (rest), MPJ’s absence also meant more playing time for Agbaji. Less than a week after it was announced by Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez that Dëmin did not have a return timeline, the rookie has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The eighth overall pick in last summer’s draft, Dëmin has been dealing with plantar fascia issues in his left foot since the summer. While the Nets managed his workload throughout the season, with the rookie not playing back-to-backs, the issue flared up recently. The expectation is that he’ll be good to go for basketball activity early in the offseason. Dëmin appeared in 52 games, starting 45, and averaged 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.4 three-pointers in 25.2 minutes. While perimeter shooting was believed to be a significant question mark during the pre-draft process, Dëmin shot 38.5 percent from beyond the arc.
