After shooting 1-of-5 from the field and scoring two points in Tuesday’s loss to the Spurs, Grimes received another opportunity to impress on Wednesday. He took advantage of the opportunity, shooting 7-of-8 from two in his 31 minutes. Grimes missed all four of his three-point attempts, but the overall output was solid. Whether he gets another start when the 76ers face the Hawks on Saturday depends on the availability of VJ Edgecombe (back) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (illness), who did not play against Utah.

There’s no such thing as “garbage time” when you’re looking to earn more opportunities. Walker made the most of his minutes in Tuesday’s blowout loss to the Spurs, scoring 20 points and earning rotation minutes on Wednesday. The 76ers forward put up an efficient 22 points and recorded a double-double against the Jazz, making some personal history. This is the first time in Walker’s NBA career that he’s scored at least 20 points in consecutive games. The 76ers don’t play again until Saturday in Atlanta, so some of the absent players could be available. If not, don’t be surprised if head coach Nick Nurse gives Walker another opportunity. He’s earned it.

After putting up an inefficient 33 points in Tuesday’s blowout loss to the Spurs, Maxey didn’t have the best night shooting the basketball against the Jazz, either. Given the players who were unavailable for the 76ers, it’s unsurprising that Maxey would struggle because of the attention he’s received defensively. The good news for fantasy managers was that he recorded a complete stat line, including three blocks. The three rejections matched his season-high, which he recorded on two other occasions.

The 76ers won’t have VJ Edgecombe (back) or Kelly Oubre Jr. (illness) for Wednesday’s game, opening up two spots in the starting lineup. The league announced Andre Drummond as a starter, but it will be Bona who starts at the five.

There aren’t typically bright spots in a 40-point loss, but Walker was able to have a solid night off the bench. He earned a two-year contract over the All-Star break after playing well to start the year on a two-way deal. This was a new season high for scoring for him, though managers shouldn’t expect this type of production to come consistently.

Payne signed with the 76ers during the All-Star break and immediately slotted in as a reserve ball handler. That didn’t lead to much production in the box score prior to this game. He scored in double figures for the first time this season and started the second half following VJ Edgecombe’s early departure with a back injury after a hard fall. Payne could get the starting nod if Edgecombe remains out against the 76ers on Wednesday, which would make him an intriguing streaming option on a day with just six games.

With Kelly Oubre (illness) sidelined, Grimes got the starting nod for the first time since December. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to take advantage. Grimes has slowed down after a strong start to the season, and this would have been a good opportunity for him to provide value. If Oubre remains out against the Jazz on Wednesday, Grimes should perform better in a more favorable matchup.

Ware finished Tuesday’s victory with his 20th double-double, joining Bam Adebayo to make some franchise history. The duo is the first Heat tandem to record at least 20 double-doubles in the same season since LeBron James and Chris Bosh did so in 2010-11. Over the past three weeks, Ware has provided sixth-round per-game fantasy value, which aligns with his season-long value. Consistency can be an issue for the second-year center, but he’s managed to clean that up recently.

Jaquez has been one of the most productive reserves in the NBA this season, and Tuesday was his 16th game with at least 20 points. While his contributions have not made Jaquez a must-roster player in 12-team leagues, he’s been good enough to merit consideration in those formats. Managers in category leagues would be wise to consider picking him up, as the Heat host the Nets again on Thursday.

Herro has scored at least 22 points in three of the six games he’s played since returning from a rib injury. Getting to see the Nets twice to open Week 19 is a good deal for the Heat guard and his teammates, who won Tuesday’s game by a 124-98 final score. Miami’s been without Norman Powell for the last two games, opening a spot in the starting lineup for Herro. Once Powell returns, Pelle Larsson (three points, two rebounds, three assists and one block) is the player most likely headed to the bench.

Less than a month removed from recording five steals in a game, Adebayo matched his career-high with six steals in Tuesday’s blowout victory. The Heat center shot 1-of-7 from beyond the arc against the Nets, and that was the only issue for fantasy managers. The overall field goal percentage was solid, so the robust stat line did not lose any luster. With the Heat playing the Nets again on Thursday, fantasy managers who have Adebayo rostered are benefiting from a nice schedule to open Week 19.

Maxey led the 76ers in points, but needed ridiculous volume to get there — 34 field-goal attempts is three short of cracking the top 100 all-time in attempts in a game. The 25-year-old point guard started the game 5-of-20 from the field and the 76ers while Maxey was -9 in 42 minutes. Maxey has provided second overall per game value over the last two weeks. After coming off the bench for each of his first four games back from the rib injury that kept him out for a month, Herro was inserted back into the Heat starting lineup on Saturday. Thursday’s performance was Herro’s best since returning from a rib injury that sidelined him for just over a month. After recording six assists in each of his prior two games, the Heat guard recorded seven against the 76ers. Add in the 25 points on 50 percent shooting and increase in playing time, with Herro logging 32 minutes, and this was an encouraging effort. Norman Powell (groin) exited during the first half, with Herro moving into the lineup to begin the third quarter. Regardless of what Powell’s availability is for Saturday’s game against the Rockets, Herro could be ready to move back into the starting five. Jaquez’s fantasy value has taken a hit recently, with Tyler Herro’s return from a rib injury factoring into the Heat wing’s decreased usage. However, he was productive against the 76ers, with the final stat line only lacking a blocked shot. Norman Powell (groin) exited Thursday’s game during the first half, and Jaquez is one of the players who could see his opportunities if Powell misses time. And he won’t need to move into the starting lineup for that to happen.

Over the past month, Bam has provided sixth-round per-game value in eight- and nine-cat formats, according to Basketball Monster. While Embiid’s knee has been the focus of most fantasy managers’ attention this season, it was his ribs that were the problem on Thursday. The 7-footer took an inadvertent hit to his right side during the second quarter and appeared to struggle with the pain at various points for the rest of the game. However, this didn’t keep Embiid from knocking down a dagger three-pointer with 29.2 seconds remaining, giving the 76ers a 124-117 lead that would hold as the final score. Maxey would make two more, pushing his tally to 887 in his 76ers’ career, but he cooled off after a hot start. The last two nights have been examples of why Ware remains a player many 12-team managers are unwilling to let go.
