Barlow’s right elbow laceration may not be considered “super serious” in the words of 76ers head coach Nick Nurse. Still, he hasn’t appeared in a game since Philadelphia’s October 25 win over the Hornets. His absence has freed up opportunities for Jabari Walker, who has started three of the 76ers’ last four games.

Grimes had one of his best all-around games as a pro on Sunday, dishing out a career-high 13 assists while scoring efficiently. Despite coming off the bench, he’s providing fifth-round value in eight-cat formats, far exceeding the expectations of most fantasy managers. Grimes has benefited from the absences of Jared McCain and Paul George, so it’s fair to question his fantasy value once the 76ers are whole. However, they aren’t right now, so Grimes should be rostered in some 12-team leagues.

Maxey has scored at least 26 points in all six games he’s played this season, averaging 33.7 per game. While some believed the 76ers’ point guard was capable of providing first-round value in standard leagues, Maxey’s been even better than that. He goes into Week 3 providing top-5 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. With Joel Embiid’s playing time being managed and Paul George (knee) still out, the 76ers need Maxey to produce at an elite level. He’s been up to the task.

Oubre put on a show during the first quarter of Sunday’s game, scoring 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. Cam Thomas was guarding him for most of that run, and Thomas has never been known for his defensive ability. Oubre was comparatively quiet for the rest of the night, but the damage had been done. The only negative was that he tweaked his ankle during the second half. While Oubre could have returned, there was no need to risk it with the 76ers up big. The “Tsunami Papi” continues to exceed expectations in fantasy basketball, providing top-50 value in nine-cat formats. The 76ers play four games during Week 3, and Oubre’s value will remain high for as long as Paul George and Jared McCain are out.

Carter recorded his second double-double of the season on Saturday, finishing one rebound shy of his season-high. Over his last two games, the Magic center has scored 34 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. Rostered in 27 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Carter’s limited offensive production gives him a low ceiling. And with Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane at the top of the pecking order, that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.

Back in the Magic lineup after sitting out Thursday’s win over the Hornets, Suggs had a rough night from beyond the arc. He missed all seven three-point attempts, sinking his overall field-goal percentage. However, Suggs did rack up five steals, which was an excellent development for category-league managers and DFS players, as he salvaged something from Saturday’s effort. While Orlando plays three games during Week 3, it ends with a Sunday/Monday back-to-back, potentially limiting Suggs to two games. Due to Suggs’ availability, Anthony Black returned to the bench on Saturday, finishing with eight points, two rebounds, five assists and one blocked shot in 25 minutes.

While teammate Paolo Banchero boasted a higher ADP entering the season, Wagner has remained the superior option in category leagues. He finished Saturday’s rout a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line and is ranked just outside the top-50 in nine-cat formats. Wagner’s scoring and assist averages are slightly lower than his 2024-25 numbers, but that isn’t a huge deal. He’ll look to build on Saturday’s showing when the Magic open a three-game Week 3 in Atlanta on Tuesday.

Banchero and the Magic grabbed control of Saturday’s game during the second quarter, outscoring the Wizards by a 43-21 margin. The percentages may be the most significant “win” for those with the forward on their rosters, as he entered Saturday shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 71.0 percent from the foul line. While Carter has grabbed at least eight rebounds in five of his six games played, the offensive production has been limited. The Magic were without starting point guard Jalen Suggs on Thursday, as the game was the team’s second in as many nights. While Tyus Jones (five points, one steal and one three-pointer in 14 minutes) started the first game that Suggs missed, Black was tabbed to fill the void on Thursday, taking on the task of defending LaMelo Ball. While solid defensively, the third-year guard had his best offensive night of the season, scoring 20 points and shooting 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero handled most of the playmaking for the starters, but this did not negatively impact Black’s production. Maxey’s early-season hot streak continued in this one as he put the metaphorical exclamation point on Philadelphia’s impressive win by scoring on three consecutive possessions in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter to eclipse the 40-point plateau for the second time in three games to open the season. He poured in 22 first-half points, knocking down eight of his first 18 shots from the field and was even better down the home stretch to help Philadelphia hold off a late comeback effort by the Magic.
