With Cade Cunningham getting ejected from Saturday’s game late in the third quarter, Schroder played 10-plus minutes during the fourth. The veteran point guard finished with his first double-double as a Piston, and Schroder scored double figures in six straight. With his fantasy value entirely dependent upon Cunningham’s availability, there isn’t much to gain from rostering Schroder on most nights.

While he doesn’t offer an exceptionally high fantasy ceiling, Harris does provide a reliable floor. He had a solid night scoring-wise, and the rebounding production was also good. However, the lack of assists and defensive stats is why Harris is viewed as a player with limited upside in fantasy basketball. Since the All-Star break, he has been a top 75 player in eight-cat formats while sitting just outside the top 50 in nine-cat. The Pistons begin a four-game Week 20 in New Orleans on Monday.

Duren extended his double-double streak to four games on Thursday, though it wasn’t enough to get a win. Duren has been fantastic in a few categories but hasn’t been a factor in the rest for most of the season. While that is fine for managers in category leagues, it limits his upside in points leagues. What a monster night it was for Cunningham. This was his sixth-straight game with at least 25 points, and he added another double-double, along with plenty of defensive production. Cunningham isn’t known for having a generous whistle, but he lived at the foul line on Thursday. He shattered his previous career-highs of 13 free throws made and 13 free throws attempted in a game. It isn’t something managers should get used to since he only averages 5.4 attempts per game. However, it was nice to see him have success there in this game.

After scoring 21 points on 7-of-21 shooting in losses to the Pistons and Warriors, Sharpe was better against the Knicks. Over the past two weeks, he has made 46.7 percent of his attempts from the field. However, improved rebound and assist production have been difference-makers for Sharpe recently. He’s averaging 6.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, which is why he’s been a 10th-round player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. And with Jerami Grant’s inconsistent availability, Sharpe should continue to log starters’ minutes during the stretch run.

Avdija appeared to make the most critical play of Wednesday’s game, as his three-point play with 3.4 seconds remaining in overtime gave Portland a two-point lead. Unfortunately for him, Mikal Bridges’ three as time expired was the difference. Though he only played 25 minutes because of the lopsided score, Duren was able to record his third-straight double-double on Tuesday. Prior to having two swats in this game, he went three straight games without one. Before that stretch, he had 10 in two games. What a game. Avdija, who hadn’t played in two games since he re-aggravated his quad injury last week, couldn’t be stopped against the Warriors Monday. Camara did not provide much value as a scorer, which is a departure from what he’s done since the All-Star break. However, he spent most of Sunday’s game harassing Cade Cunningham, who committed eight turnovers. Improved offensively, Camara has established himself as one of the NBA’s best defenders. He has also been more of an asset to fantasy managers than expected, providing top-100 value in nine-cat formats. Since the break, Camara has been ranked just outside the top-50. The only reason his rostership percentage of 51 percent of Yahoo! leagues is deserved is because of Portland’s schedule. The Blazers play 10 games during weeks 19-21.

Grant had a good night from beyond the arc, shooting 6-of-11, and the 25 points are the most he’s scored in a game since December 13. The issue for fantasy managers is that, on most nights, Grant provides minimal value in the other fantasy-relevant categories. And with the veteran forward shooting 37.3 percent from the field since the All-Star break, he has been a net-negative outside of points leagues. Simons recorded his 37th career 30-point game on Sunday, moving his tally to seven for the season. Having met or exceeded that number in three of his last four outings, the Trail Blazers guard has provided top-40 value in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past week. And Simons’ value since the All-Star break has been two rounds higher than he’s provided fantasy managers for the season. The question is whether Portland management will let Simons and the other veterans “run through the tape” and play out the season. While games of 20 points or more have not been the norm for Harris this season, he has been consistently productive. While he shot the ball well on Sunday, turnovers were an issue for Cunningham. One night removed from committing nine turnovers in a loss to the Warriors, he was responsible for eight against the Trail Blazers. High-turnover nights have been rare for Cunningham, which has been one of the areas of significant improvement for him this season. A top-10 player in eight-cat formats since the All-Star break, Cade is ranked just outside the top 25 in nine-cat.
