On Thursday, Durant had one of his worst shooting performances of the season in a blowout loss to the Thunder. However, he was able to respond with one of his best games of the year. The turnovers and free throws were suboptimal, but he set a new season high for scoring and was still effective as a playmaker. Durant hasn’t been as effective this year as he’s been in the past, but he’s still more than capable of outings like this from time to time.

Though it was an abysmal night from the free throw line, Şengün was able to record his third-straight double-double while posting a full stat line. The poor free throw percentage dragged his overall value down in this game, but he was able to do enough for help Houston get the win before fouling out late in the game. They’ll wrap up the week against the Pelicans on Sunday, which is a favorable matchup for Şengün to have another big night.

Eason has missed Houston’s last three games, most recently sitting out Thursday’s loss to the Thunder. Josh Okogie has started the previous two, but his production in that role has been limited. Grant returned to the floor for the first time in nearly a month on Thursday and provided the Blazers’ bench with a nice scoring boost. In just 23 minutes, the veteran forward utilized the free-throw line to help rack up points and ultimately finish as Portland’s second-leading scorer on the night. Grant also added a pair of blocks and a few assists along the way to provide a bit more fantasy production. How his role develops as the Blazers get healthier will be noteworthy from a fantasy basketball perspective.

Holiday logged 21 minutes in his third game back from a calf injury. The veteran guard posted a balanced stat line in his limited minutes, contributing as a scorer, rebounder, and passer. Sharpe stuffed the stat sheet in Thursday’s convincing victory over the Hawks. The fourth-year guard scored pretty well both inside and outside the arc and was able to capitalize at the FT line when fouls were generated. Şengün recorded his 18th double-double of the season on Thursday, with this being the first time since before Christmas that he’s recorded one in consecutive games. The Rockets’ center’s fantasy progress was somewhat derailed by injuries that sidelined him for five of seven games after Christmas, but he appeared to be getting back on track. While double-doubles have been the norm for frontcourt partner Alperen Şengün, that hasn’t been the case for Smith. On Thursday, he recorded his eighth of the season and second since going on a run of four consecutive games with a double-double in mid-December. The Rockets had a rough night shooting the ball, making 34 percent of their field-goal attempts overall and 7-of-24 from beyond the arc. Durant missed all five of his three-point attempts, but the production in other categories, most notably rebounds and steals, should help compensate for the inefficient scoring to an extent. Holiday came off the bench for a second straight game after making his return from nearly a two-month absence on Sunday. However, he started the second half in place of Caleb Love, who joined the starting lineup with Deni Avdija out. Love entered this game having scored in double figures in 11 straight games, which led to the first start of his career. He extended that streak to 12 games, though it didn’t come efficiently, and he was benched in favor of Jrue Holiday to open the second half. Thompson has been on quite the scoring stretch, which continued in this game. He has scored at least 20 points in four straight games and in seven of his last eight appearances. However, the most impressive part has been his improvement at the free throw line. His free throw percentage has leaped up 12.2 percent this season, and he was outstanding from the line in this game. His last three games have been average, but prior to that, he went four straight games without missing a shot from the charity stripe. This is an encouraging development for Thompson’s upside as a shooter, which can lead to fantasy superstardom.

This has been a challenging time for Şengün’s managers, as injuries have sidelined him for five of the Rockets’ previous seven games entering Sunday. Love continues to produce like a player intent on securing his NBA future. Jrue Holiday’s return on Sunday did not bounce the rookie from the rotation, due partly to the absences of Jerami Grant and Kris Murray despite not sharing a position with those two. For the first time in nearly a month, Sharpe has scored at least 20 points in four consecutive games. What’s encouraging for fantasy managers is that he played 35 minutes on Sunday despite Jrue Holiday making his return from a calf strain.
