Nurkić had a toe injury that cost him two games, including Saturday’s historic 55-point loss to the Hornets. The 31-year-old center returned Monday night and continued his dominance on the glass, grabbing 17 rebounds. Nurkić has 44 rebounds over his last three games now. He’s provided 12th-round per game value this season and first-round per game value over the last two weeks.

Markkanen returned after getting the night off for rest on Saturday, when the Jazz lost by 55 to the Hornets. The 28-year-old power forward had at least 28 points for the fourth time in his last five games and at least 12 rebounds for the second time in his last three games. Markkanen has been one of the best players in fantasy basketball this season, providing first-round per game value. He has a great matchup coming up against the Bulls Wednesday.

In case you didn’t already know, George is one of the most improved players in the league this year. That was on full display Monday against the Cavaliers as he torched Cleveland for 32 points and nine assists. It’s his 10th game this season with at least 30 points, becoming the first Jazz player with double-digit games with at least 30 points since Donovan Mitchell in 2022. George has provided third-round per game value in his breakout season. The Jazz take on the Bulls Wednesday in the first game of a back-to-back.

While the doubtful tag suggests that Grant is closer to missing another game than returning to action, this represents progress. In the past, the Trail Blazers have ruled Grant out immediately, and he has missed the last 13 games. Sidy Cissoko has been the replacement in the starting lineup, but his minutes may decrease as Jrue Holiday shakes off the rust after returning from a calf injury on Sunday.

Bad news. Avdija is already ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Warriors with what the Trail Blazers are calling lower back soreness. The 25-year-old small forward landed awkwardly and tweaked his lower back in the final minutes of Sunday’s loss against the Knicks. Jrue Holiday returned Sunday and will have a bigger role going forward, but Avdija’s injury is a tough blow for the Trail Blazers.

After missing nearly two months with a strained calf, Holiday was back in the Trail Blazers’ rotation on Sunday. He played 16 minutes off the bench, with the minutes limit preserving some of Sidy Cissoko’s playing time. Cissoko remained in the starting lineup and finished with five points, two rebounds, three assists and one three-pointer in 28 minutes. As Holiday continues to ramp up his activity, there will likely come a point where he and Cissoko switch roles.

Love continues to produce like a player intent on securing his NBA future. Jrue Holiday’s return on Sunday did not bounce the rookie from the rotation, due partly to the absences of Jerami Grant and Kris Murray despite not sharing a position with those two. Love, who’s on a two-way deal, has five 20-point games this season. Providing 11th-round value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks, Love may be worth holding onto in dynasty leagues despite the contract status.

For the first time in nearly a month, Sharpe has scored at least 20 points in four consecutive games. What’s encouraging for fantasy managers is that he played 35 minutes on Sunday despite Jrue Holiday making his return from a calf strain. Sharpe’s minutes will likely be affected more by the returns of Scoot Henderson and Jerami Grant, and both appear far from returning to games. Portland has four games in Week 13, starting with the Warriors on Tuesday.

Avdija finished Sunday’s defeat with another solid stat line, but that isn’t the key takeaway. He left with just under two minutes remaining after landing awkwardly and tweaking something in his lower back. While acting head coach Tiago Splitter had no information during his postgame press conference, he said he was “worried” about the injury. Even with Jrue Holiday returning from his calf injury on Sunday, losing Avdija would be significant for Portland.

Collier finished one assist shy of a double-double on Saturday, with his playing time receiving a bump due to Utah losing by a franchise-record 55 points. With Keyonte George (four points, two rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in 23 minutes) having the best season of his brief NBA career, Collier’s fantasy upside is limited. Sensabaugh’s offensive performance was the lone bright spot for the Jazz in Saturday’s 150-95 defeat. Scoring isn’t an issue for the third-year wing, but he has offered minimal value outside of points and three-pointers. Over the past two weeks, Sensabaugh has an eight-cat value ranked outside the top-150. While playing time shouldn’t be an issue for him when the silly season rolls around, the category-league value will be limited.

Plus/minus is an imperfect stat, but Williams made the kind of history that no player wants on Saturday. His rating of minus-60 was the worst in league history (spanning 30 years of play-by-play data). He shot the ball relatively well, but the overall production wasn’t there for a player making his second consecutive start. Calayton Jr. is enjoying a nice stretch to begin the new calendar year. Thursday’s solid performance gives him back-to-back games with double-digit points and four three-pointers. George had a relatively average game production-wise, finishing with fewer than 20 points for only the 12th time this season and less than two three-pointers for the 11th time. He was his usual productive self as a facilitator, leading Utah in assists for the game.
