The Celtics aren’t officially the two-seed in the East for the upcoming playoffs, but it would take a Herculean effort to pass Cleveland. So, veterans like Porzingis and Holiday may receive the occasional rest day as the regular season winds down. Sam Hauser and Luke Kornet would have a shot at moving into the starting lineup if Holidan and Porzingis don’t play on Wednesday, and Payton Pritchard’s fantasy ceiling would also be raised.

Kornet was sidelined on Monday, but with both Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford available, he likely wouldn’t have played a significant role if he was available. The Celtics don’t have a back-to-back to navigate, but they do have to concern themselves with Horford’s lingering toe injury. The doubtful tag suggests he will not play on Wednesday, meaning Al’s next opportunity to suit up would be on Friday against the Suns. Luke Kornet would have added importance, especially if Kristaps Porzingis is downgraded from questionable to out.

For the second-straight game, Tatum was able to turn in a 20-point double-double in a double-digit win on the road. In fact, the Celtics completed a six-game road trip against Western Conference opponents and won each game by double digits. They’ve now won nine in a row and 14 of their last 15 games, with Tatum scoring at least 20 points in 10 straight games. The occasional rest night has been the only limitation for Tatum, and he has sat out four games in March. He’ll look to keep the production up against the Heat on Wednesday.

DeRozan entered this game having scored at least 20 points in nine of his last 10 games without ever reaching 30 points, but he was able to achieve that mark in Monday’s loss. This was just DeMar’s fourth 30-point game since the All-Star break, but Sacramento has now lost six of their last seven games. They now hold a one-game lead over the Suns for the final play-in spot, but their next two games are against Washington and Charlotte, which should give them some breathing room. Regardless, DeRozan will continue to provide buckets with consistency.

Despite a rough shooting night from White, he was able to turn in a well-rounded stat line and nearly record a triple-double. Oddly enough, this was White’s second consecutive game shooting exactly 4-of-13 from the floor and finishing with eight rebounds and three three-pointers. The difference on Monday was that he was able to reach double digit assists for the third time this season. White has had at least six assists in five straight games now, and he’ll look to continue to dish out the dimes against the Heat on Wednesday.

Playing against his former team, Sabonis had a great matchup with Thomas Bryant starting in place of Myles Turner, who was sidelined with an illness. Sabonis took advantage of the matchup, but his team did not. Sacramento is now 1-4 since Sabonis returned, though he has grabbed at least 12 rebounds in each game. Unfortunately, he failed to record an assist despite playing 40 minutes. This was the fifth time in his career that he played at least 30 minutes and didn’t dish out at least one dime. He’ll look to get back on track in Washington on Wednesday.

With Jaylen Brown sidelined, Joe Mazzulla opted to start Xavier Tillman instead of Horford or Sam Hauser. However, Tillman only played eight minutes. Horford ended up getting the minutes boost and set a new season-high with 26 points in 37 minutes. He also tied his season-high for three-pointers. This was an excellent performance for the 38-year-old, which is encouraging with the postseason approaching. Boston is going to need Horford to provide depth if they want to repeat as champions, and this type of performance is certainly what they’re looking for in the playoffs.

This was Monk’s third game back from a three-game absence, and he remained in a reserve role for a third-straight game after being a consistent starter since December. He has really struggled since returning from an illness, and that continued in this game. He was able to somewhat make up for a terrible shooting performance with some rebound and assist production, but overall, it was another poor night as a reserve. Keon Ellis continues to start, and there is no reason to think that Monk will reclaim his starting role if he continues to play like this.

The Celtics played Saturday’s game without Al Horford, who was ruled out with a lingering toe injury. That freed up additional minutes for Kornet, who made the most of his opportunity. The veteran center’s 16 rebounds were a career-high, and the double-double was his second of the season. Rostered in two percent of Yahoo! leagues, Kornet would not be worth the risk in most leagues. However, between Horford’s toe injury and the desire to ensure Kristaps Porzingis (11/8/1/0/2 with one three-pointer) is at full strength for the playoffs, there may be more opportunities for Kornet to approach starters’ minutes during Boston’s four-game Week 22.

Holiday recorded his fifth 20-point game of the season on Saturday, with the 21 points being the most he’s dropped since March 14. While this has been a disappointing season overall for those who have Jrue rostered, he has offered top 60 value in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. However, he’s another Celtics player who may be an “injury management” for Week 22, even with Boston not having any back-to-backs on their schedule. Injuries have limited Holiday to 57 appearances, which may be used as a reason to get him additional rest ahead of the postseason.

Tatum was back in the Celtics’ lineup after sitting out Wednesday’s win over the Suns, and he made up for lost time with an excellent stat line. Over the past two weeks, the Celtics star has offered top-10 value in eight-cat formats. When Tatum is on the court, fantasy managers don’t worry about much. However, with the Celtics locked into a top-two seed in the East and trailing Cleveland by four games in the loss column, the team may look to get its primary weapons additional time off before the end of the regular season. The Celtics play four games without a back-to-back during Week 22, but that doesn’t guarantee Tatum will be available for each contest.

LaVine had a brutal afternoon in Orlando. While the field goal percentage wasn’t terrible, Saturday’s loss was the third game this month in which he’s failed to crack double digits in attempts. Add in five turnovers, and Saturday was a day to forget for fantasy managers that have LaVine rostered. And over the past two weeks, he’s ranked outside the top 250 in nine-cat formats. Sabonis has reached double figures in rebounds in four straight games, including three double-doubles. However, he only shot 33.3 percent from the field in Orlando, and a combination of poor foul shooting and limited defensive production has weighed down the center’s fantasy value. Over the past two weeks, Sabonis is ranked just inside the top 100 in eight-cat formats and has only been a 12th-round player in nine-cat. With the Kings looking to hold onto a play-in spot, they’ll need more production from Sabonis, and fantasy managers can say the same.

DeRozan has only been an eight-round player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks, a disappointing return for a player who has been a top-50 option for most of the season. After missing Sacramento’s last three games, Monk made his return to the rotation on Thursday. This game was all about buckets for LaVine, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing at this point. Outside of the two rebounds he grabbed, he didn’t contribute any non-points value for fantasy managers. However, he scored less than 20 points in each of Sacramento’s last four games, and he was incredibly efficient with his shot on Thursday. Sure, it would be nice if he did more than score, but he won’t put up goose eggs in nearly every other category like he did in this game often. DeRozan’s streak of seven consecutive games with 20 points or more came to a screeching halt on Tuesday. The 10 points were the fewest since December 22, when he scored a season-low two in a loss to the Pacers. The good news for fantasy managers is that DeRozan recorded decent numbers in the rebound and assist categories, minimizing some of the damage done by a 4-of-15 night from the field.
