With Evan Mobley (rest) getting a night off, Wade will fill out the open spot in the starting unit. He should see a bump in minutes, but he isn’t typically an impactful player in fantasy basketball. De’Andre Hunter should end up taking on a larger reserve role with both Mobley and Ty Jerome (knee) sidelined.

The Cavaliers are in firm control of the top spot in the East and have taken opportunities to rest members of their “core four” occasionally. Mobley will sit out Thursday’s game, and his absence coincides with Donovan Mitchell’s return after not playing on Tuesday. De’Andre Hunter, Sam Merrill, Isaac Okoro and Dean Wade are four options to fill the void left by Mobley, with Hunter offering the highest upside. DeRozan’s streak of seven consecutive games with 20 points or more came to a screeching halt on Tuesday. The 10 points were the fewest since December 22, when he scored a season-low two in a loss to the Pacers. The good news for fantasy managers is that DeRozan recorded decent numbers in the rebound and assist categories, minimizing some of the damage done by a 4-of-15 night from the field. Over the past two weeks, DeRozan has offered 11th-round value in eight-cat formats, four rounds worse than what he’s done for the season.

LaVine’s seven assists were the most he’s recorded in a game since February 13, when he racked up ten in an overtime loss to the Pelicans. However, the scoring output has taken a hit, with the veteran guard averaging 16.4 points per game over the past two weeks. With LaVine providing limited defensive value, a decrease in scoring impacts his fantasy value more than it would players who bring more to the table. Over the past two weeks, he has offered 14th-round value in eight-cat formats.

Having taken a back seat offensively for most of this season, Murray had a big night on Tuesday. He established new season-highs with 28 points and nine three-pointers. Add in the rebounds and defensive stats, and Tuesday was an excellent night for Murray managers. Over the past two weeks, he has provided fourth-round value in nine-cat formats. While Murray has to be rostered in most leagues, his fantasy ceiling has been lowered by the presence of Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan in the Kings’ lineup.

Donovan Mitchell’s absence from Tuesday’s game may not have pushed Jerome into the starting lineup, but it did mean more opportunities to shine. The reserve guard has scored 20 points or more in 11 games, five more than his first five NBA seasons combined. Jerome may not be among the leading vote-getters for Sixth Man of the Year, but his progress in Cleveland cannot be denied. Rostered in 22 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he is worth streaming on nights when one of the Cavaliers’ two starting guards is unavailable.

Mobley matched his season-high in blocks on Tuesday, and he’s recorded multiple rejections in three straight games for the first time since mid-February. Over the past two weeks, the Cavaliers’ big man has been a top-30 player in nine-cat formats. While Jarrett Allen (14 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one block in 27 minutes) continues to provide reliable fantasy value, Mobley has emerged as the team’s top frontcourt option this season. And that won’t change anytime soon.

Garland shouldered more of the scoring workload on Tuesday due to Donovan Mitchell being out. The good news for those with the point guard rostered is that the lineup change did not negatively impact his efficiency. Garland shot over 50 percent from the field and finished with a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Over the past month, he has provided fifth-round value in eight-cat formats. Garland managers’ only concern is the occasional rest day, especially with Cleveland scheduled to play a Thursday/Friday back-to-back.

The Cavaliers held out Donovan Mitchell (groin) on Tuesday, resulting in Merrill joining the starting lineup. As expected, he provided solid value in the points and three-point categories, and the few managers who streamed Merrill aren’t complaining about the three assists, either. Primarily a three-point shooter, Merrill’s production has not been good enough to make him a player worth streaming on most nights, even when Cleveland is down a starter. But give him credit for a solid performance in Portland.

With Malik Monk (illness) sidelined for a second-straight game, Ellis was able to remain in the starting unit. He was once again able to provide a strong, well-rounded stat line while playing significant minutes. Ellis is more than capable of being a fantasy stud, but when everyone in Sacramento is healthy, he gets stuck in a reserve role. Sabonis was initially expected to miss at least three more games with this ankle injury, but he was able to suit up after missing just three games. Of course, he got right back to work and recorded his 52nd double-double of the season. He achieved that mark before halftime, though it wasn’t enough for Sacramento to get the win. On a night where DeRozan’s shot wasn’t falling, he still found a way to make an impact. This was his second double-double of the season, with both coming in the month of March. Despite the rough shooting night, DeRozan was still able to extend his 20-point streak to seven games, though Sacramento has now dropped three in a row and seven of their last nine. Cleveland won Sunday’s game by outscoring Utah 37-19 in the third quarter, but Mitchell was only needed for 21 minutes. That may be the most significant concern for fantasy managers still competing in their leagues. Cleveland has a comfortable lead in the Eastern Conference. While the team still has the opportunity to claim the NBA’s best record, it may prioritize getting its key players additional rest ahead of the postseason. Allen and the Cavaliers started slowly on Sunday, but a 37-19 third quarter was enough to put the game in the bag. And this was a much-needed effort from Allen, who scored 24 points in the previous three games. While the recent downtick in scoring hasn’t helped, foul shooting has been the more impactful issue for Allen recently. Ranked outside the top 100 in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks, the Cavaliers post is an ice cold 58.3 percent from the foul line in that stretch.
