According to the NBA, Schröder confronted and attempted to strike another player 40 minutes after the Kings’ 125-101 loss to the Lakers in a Crypto.com Arena hallway. ESPN has reported that the player was Lakers guard Luka Dončić. His suspension will begin with Sunday’s game against the Rockets, and Schröder will be eligible to return on January 16 against the Wizards.

For just the third time in his career, and the first since October 29, 2022, Dončić fouled out of an NBA game on Friday. His foul of Milwaukee’s Kevin Porter Jr. on a three-point attempt with 16.2 seconds remaining led to two made free throws that gave the Bucks the lead for good. This was a frustrating night for Dončić, who shot 4-of-19 from inside the arc and 4-of-8 at the foul line. The rebounds, assists, steals and three-pointers were useful, but Dončić managers took a hit in the percentages.

With Rui Hachimura (calf) once again unavailable, LaRavia was in the Lakers’ starting lineup for the sixth consecutive game. While the final stat line on Friday was modest, the forward was a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. Since moving into the starting five, LaRavia has been close to a top-50 player in eight-cat formats. As long as Hachimura is unavailable, LaRavia is worth the streaming risk.

However, Giannis Antetokounmpo was able to poke the ball away from behind, resulting in James’ third turnover of the night. Over the past two weeks, LeBron has been a top-15 player in eight-cat formats.

While he did shoot the ball well against the Warriors, the veteran point guard has made just 38.9 percent of his attempts over the past two weeks. That, combined with the decline in assists, has negatively affected Westbrook’s fantasy value. He’ll look to end Week 12 on a high note when the Kings host the Rockets on Sunday.

With the Kings not showing signs of being able to climb out of the hole that they’ve dug themselves, this is a team to watch in the lead-up to the February trade deadline. LaVine’s name has been mentioned in rumors, and fantasy managers should hope for a change of scenery to ensure that he’s relevant during the playoff weeks.

The rookie center finished one rebound shy of a double-double, but he’s now played 35 minutes or more in four of his last six appearances. Raynaud’s offensive ceiling may be capped since he’s in a lineup with three ball-dominant players (Russell Westbrook, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan). But, over the past two weeks, he has been an 11th-round player in nine-cat formats. Despite the limited ceiling, Raynaud is worth rostering as long as the Kings are without Domantas Sabonis.

DeRozan shot 3-of-6 from beyond the arc on Tuesday, the first time since December 18 (ten games) in which he’s made multiple triples in the same game. Fantasy managers don’t look to him for value in that category, but nights like Tuesday are helpful, considering the decreased scoring output. Compared to last season, DeRozan’s average (18.4) has declined by nearly four points. Because of the overall production and efficiency, he’s still offering top-50 value in nine-cat formats, but things could be better for the veteran guard/forward.

After playing 36 minutes off the bench in his first game back from a sprained ankle that sidelined him for nine games, LaVine was back in the starting lineup on Tuesday. The Kings did not have Keegan Murray, who will miss three to four weeks with a sprained ankle, so LaVine’s promotion did not come at the expense of Precious Achiuwa (nine points, nine rebounds, one steal, one block and one three-pointer in 22 minutes). LaVine recorded a complete stat line against Dallas, and he has the tools needed to threaten top-50 per-game value. Of course, that depends on how the Kings handle the trade deadline, as they should probably be “sellers.”

After Friday’s dud against the Grizzlies, Ayton has bounced back with two solid performances. On Tuesday, he recorded his second double-double in five games and 13th of the season. Generally speaking, when Ayton is involved in the offense early, he can be relied on for solid effort/production throughout. Fantasy managers who have him rostered will certainly root for the Lakers to feed Ayton early before Luka Dončić and LeBron James take over.

If there’s been an issue for the Lakers’ star, it has been turnovers, which should not surprise any fantasy managers. Dončić recorded five on Tuesday, a number that he’s met in five of his last six appearances. While the turnovers aren’t an issue for eight-cat managers or those willing to punt the category, this is something that nine-cat managers have to anticipate when drafting Dončić.

Dennis Schröder is a candidate to pick up minutes with Murray out. Expect another update from the Kings on Murray’s ankle in the coming days.
