Monk and Carter missed Monday’s loss to the Celtics, with the former’s absence opening up a place in the starting lineup. Keon Ellis filled the void, playing 37 minutes, while Markelle Fultz logged 11 as the backup. Ellis will return to the bench if Monk can play, while Carter’s availability does not significantly impact fantasy basketball.

With Malik Monk (illness) sidelined for a second-straight game, Ellis was able to remain in the starting unit. He was once again able to provide a strong, well-rounded stat line while playing significant minutes. Ellis is more than capable of being a fantasy stud, but when everyone in Sacramento is healthy, he gets stuck in a reserve role. That may work for Sacramento, but it limits his upside for fantasy managers. This was the first night of a back-to-back, so if Monk remain out against the Thunder on Tuesday, Ellis may hold streaming value for another game.

Sabonis was initially expected to miss at least three more games with this ankle injury, but he was able to suit up after missing just three games. Of course, he got right back to work and recorded his 52nd double-double of the season. He achieved that mark before halftime, though it wasn’t enough for Sacramento to get the win. Sabonis has had one of the best seasons of his career, though his numbers have taken a hit in the second half of the season. Hopefully he can close out the season by continuing to dominate the glass like he did on Monday.

On a night where DeRozan’s shot wasn’t falling, he still found a way to make an impact. This was his second double-double of the season, with both coming in the month of March. Despite the rough shooting night, DeRozan was still able to extend his 20-point streak to seven games, though Sacramento has now dropped three in a row and seven of their last nine. DeRozan will keep on doing his thing, but they’ll need him to be more efficient than he was in this game to snap their losing streak.

Initial reports indicated that Sabonis would miss at least 10 days, which would’ve had him returning around March 29. However, he’ll beat that timeline and will be back after missing only three games. His return will push Jonas Valanciunas to the bench. It’s the first night of a back-to-back for Sacramento, so Sabonis could sit against the Thunder on Tuesday, which would allow Valanciunas to get another start.

Monk did not play in Saturday’s loss to the Bucks, with Keon Ellis replacing him in the starting lineup. Ellis would be worth streaming if Monk has to miss another game. With the Kings center considered questionable for Monday’s game, he could return one week after spraining his right ankle. Ellis’ final stat line as Malik Monk’s replacement in the starting lineup was excellent. However, he only attempted one shot (a miss) in the fourth quarter, which may have left a bad taste in the mouths of some fantasy managers. However, when Ellis has his first 20-point game since February 12, there isn’t much to complain about. Keon’s value heading into a four-game Week 21 depends on Monk’s availability. However, he’s still worth holding onto in deep leagues due to the Kings’ need for bench scoring with Domantas Sabonis (ankle) still sidelined.

Valanciunas had a good night against the Bucks, providing solid value in the points, rebounds and field-goal percentage categories. However, he doesn’t offer much in the assist or defensive categories, which has limited his value as Domantas Sabonis’ replacement in the starting lineup. Head coach Taylor Jenkins hasn’t always turned to Pippen to start when Ja Morant is out of the lineup, but he did on Friday. Though it didn’t result in a win for the Grizzlies, it was a strong performance for Pippen. He was able to contribute value across the board while maintaining efficiency as the starting point guard. He had been playing well as a reserve entering this game, so perhaps the starting nod was Jenkins’ way of rewarding him. He’s provided third-round value over the past two weeks, mostly because he has averaged 5.1 assists and 2.4 steals during that stretch.

Entering this game, Bane had averaged 29.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 4.3 three-pointers over his last three games, which includes a 44-point performance on Monday to start this week. This was the Grizzlies’ final game of the week, and they’ll return to the court in Utah on Tuesday.

The points were nice, but the rest of this outing was disappointing for Jackson Jr. and his team. He started at center against Ivica Zubac, but he was only able to grab two rebounds in 35 minutes. Jackson Jr. is known for being a weak rebounder, but he wasn’t able to offset the lack of production in that category with dominance in others; he only blocked one shot and had an inefficient shooting night. Unfortunately, this was the last game of the week for Memphis, and they only have three games next week.

Playing against his former team for the first time, LaVine wasn’t able to have a big night. He only scored three points in the first half, all of which came at the free throw line. With Domantas Sabonis sidelined, Lyles has been able to step up as a solid offensive option off the bench for Sacramento. With Domantas Sabonis (hamstring) and Zach LaVine (personal) unavailable, the Kings effectively went with a seven-man rotation Wednesday night. The good news for Doug Christie is that both reserves, Carter and Trey Lyles, were productive. Lyles added 13 points, seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and one three-pointer in 30 minutes.
