Sabonis will be back after missing Wednesday’s game against Toronto, which was the second night of a back-to-back. Following an extended absence, it isn’t surprising that Sabonis wasn’t asked to play two nights in a row. His minutes have been strictly monitored, so he will likely continue to come off the bench against Cleveland.

While Monk still hasn’t reached the point where he can be considered in some 12-team leagues, the good news is that he’s getting consistent rotation minutes. He’s played at least 19 minutes in seven of his last eight appearances, a stretch in which Monk’s shot 50.6 percent from the field. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been much defensive production, which limits Monk’s fantasy potential. For whatever reason, Kings head coach Doug Christie has essentially decided that only one of Monk or Keon Ellis (DNP-CD) can be in the rotation on any given night. It has been Monk’s turn recently, but that could change at any time.

Since scoring 20 points in each of his first two games back after being sidelined by a sprained ankle, LaVine has just one 20-point effort over his last eight appearances. Since returning, the veteran wing has been a ninth-round player in eight- and nine-cat formats. That doesn’t align with LaVine’s ADP (61), but things could be a lot worse for those who have him rostered.

Westbrook led the Kings in scoring on Wednesday, but this was also his first game with three assists or fewer in over two weeks. This was also his first game with more turnovers (four) than assists (three) since November 26. The good news for fantasy managers is that Westbrook has been a third-round player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks, continuing to exceed expectations.

After totaling 48 points in losses to the Warriors and Suns, McBride crashed back to earth on Monday with a five-point performance against the Mavericks. He got back on track Wednesday night, shooting 50 percent from the field and finishing a blocked shot shy of a complete line. With Jalen Brunson healthy, McBride’s fantasy upside is limited, but he can still be of value to deep-league managers.

Shamet was red-hot from beyond the arc on Wednesday, making all six of his attempts on the night. While his role doesn’t make him a viable option in most fantasy leagues, the Knicks’ reserve has averaged 2.3 three-pointers per game since returning from a shoulder injury. Shamet will only be worth a look on nights when the Knicks are shorthanded on the wings.

Wednesday went as well as it could have for Brunson and the Knicks, who entered their game with the Nets 2-9 in their last 11 games. The Knicks set a franchise record for margin of victory (54 points), and Brunson didn’t have to over-exert himself. Of course, fantasy managers would have hoped for a more competitive game, as the point guard may have logged more than 31 minutes. Saturday’s game against the 76ers stands to be far more competitive.

DeRozan’s uptick in fantasy value lately continues. The 36-year-old small forward dropped 23 points in the loss to the Heat on Tuesday. It was a mixed bag for Westbrook on Tuesday. The 37-year-old point guard had 22 points and seven assists against the Heat, but also turned the ball over six times and was 1-of-6 from behind the three-point line. Robinson may have been the only Knicks player to bring consistent energy during the first half of Monday’s game. He finished with 15 rebounds and a double-double, his second double-double of the season. Towns may have recorded a solid stat line, but looks can be deceiving. As bad as the Knicks’ January 5 loss to the Pistons was, Monday’s performance may have been worse. While his scoring output was limited, DeRozan had a good night as a secondary playmaker. With no Keon Ellis (knee) in the fold, Monk’s place within the Kings’ rotation has remained secure. He’s played at least 16 minutes in six consecutive games, a run in which Monk has surpassed 20 points twice. Westbrook fell one point shy of matching his season high for points, but it was the efficiency of his shooting that made this performance so good. He also set a new season high for three-pointers, which was enough to help the Kings win a fourth straight game.
