LaVine did not play in Sunday’s loss to the Pistons, resulting in Nique Clifford moving into the starting lineup. While not a must-stream player, Clifford will have value during the “silly season” based on where the Kings are in the Western Conference standings.

Monk was in line for more minutes off the bench Sunday once Zach LaVine (back) was ruled out. The 27-year-old guard played just 22 minutes in the Kings’ blowout loss at the hands of the Pistons, with the lopsided score keeping him from hitting a ceiling scenario. Monk still isn’t worth rostering in most fantasy leagues, but he flashed some of his potential Sunday.

Avdija is questionable for Monday’s game against the Celtics with a lower back strain. The 25-year-old small forward left Thursday’s game against the Heat with a back injury and subsequently missed Friday’s game against the Raptors. Added to the Kings’ injury report late Saturday night, LaVine is now officially out for Sunday’s game in Detroit. When Sacramento played two games in late December without LaVine and Keegan Murray (ankle), Keon Ellis was inserted into the starting lineup. However, the fourth-year guard has picked up DNP-CDs in each of the Kings’ last five games. Clingan made the most of his 29 minutes of game action. He pulled down at least 15 rebounds for the fifth time already in January and made a three-pointer in his fourth straight game. The second-year center also set a new season-high in steals, bringing the defensive production despite not amassing any blocked shots. Clingan has made a nice jump from his rookie to sophomore season and should only get better going forward. His two-way versatility gives him a high ceiling in regard to fantasy basketball.

Sharpe was active on the offensive end on Friday. Without Deni Avdija (back), his shot volume was high, but he finished with fewer points than field-goal attempts. However, the fourth-year guard got on the glass and also made contributions as a passer to round out his solid overall performance. Depending on how long Avdija is sidelined, there’s potential that Sharpe could really put up some big scoring performances. He may have a chance to do so on Monday against the Celtics.

Holiday’s production on the offensive end was one of the most important for Portland on Friday. He shot the ball well and contributed from behind the three-point line to finish as one of the team’s top couple of scorers. In addition to his passing, he set the table well for his teammates and finished as the Trail Blazers’ leader in assists. Despite the loss, the Blazers have built some momentum lately; they’ll continue to rely on Holiday’s veteran leadership to keep their season trending in the right direction.

The Kings starters weren’t getting the job done in this game, and head coach Doug Christie quickly turned to the reserves. That allowed Schröder to have his first 20-point game in over a month. Schröder has been a solid reserve for the Kings this year, but that hasn’t been enough for him to be worth rostering in most fantasy formats. Still, he’s more than capable of producing, as he reminded us in this game.

Sabonis’ first three games back after an extended absence were rather quiet. His minutes were limited and so was his production. However, he still come off the bench in this game, but he was far more productive in 31 minutes as a reserve in this game. Deni Avdija (back) exited early from this game, which opened the door for Sharpe to step up. This was the second straight game he’s scored exactly 27 points, and he’s scored at least 20 in eight of his last nine games. Sharpe has seen a bump in steals this season, which has helped his value in category leagues, but he is still reliant on points and triples. Avdija was having an excellent night before his lower back flared up, tallying 20 points (6-of-11 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, four assists and two three-pointers in 18 minutes. Avdija missed three games earlier this month after injuring his lower back during a January 11 loss to the Knicks. While Monk still hasn’t reached the point where he can be considered in some 12-team leagues, the good news is that he’s getting consistent rotation minutes.
