Initially announced as a reserve, Sabonis was in the starting lineup in his first game back from a strained hamstring. The veteran center playing 30 minutes and recording a triple-double was a positive sign, and he has a couple of days to recover before the Kings return to action on Monday. Sabonis’ return pushed Jonas Valanciunas to the bench, and he finished with six points, five rebounds and two assists in 12 minutes. There’s no need to hold onto Valanciunas in shallow leagues, while standard league managers may be willing to exercise some patience.

After attempting 16 shots total in his prior two games, LaVine put up 13 on Friday. That wasn’t enough to get the Kings into the winner’s circle, but LaVine’s offensive output received a welcome boost. Since the All-Star break, he has been a fourth-round player in eight-cat formats. LaVine has provided consistent fantasy value since joining the Kings in early February, and that appears unlikely to change anytime soon. The Kings play four games during Week 19, starting with the Grizzlies on Monday.

DeRozan had a good night shooting the ball but provided little value outside of points and three-pointers. Friday’s game was his first of the season with a stat line this meager, which should give fantasy managers some solace. After only scoring 11 points in a blowout loss to New York on Monday, DeRozan was more productive against Golden State. Unfortunately, it was another blowout loss for Sacramento, and they have now lost three in a row. It was a poor performance from the team, but fantasy managers that have DeRozan were fine with his efficient night. They’ll play the Suns on the second night of this back-to-back on Friday, which isn’t an ideal scenario. This was an ugly game for the Kings as a team, but Ellis was one of the few bright spots. He outplayed starter Malik Monk (7/4/6/2/1), who has taken a major step back in production since Sacramento traded De’Aaron Fox. The expectation was that the increased usage would allow Monk to be even better than he had been, but he hasn’t been able to do that. As long as Ellis continues to be productive, he’ll push for more minutes, which will give him the chance to provide more strong stat lines over the final month.

Valanciunas has been an excellent option in place of Domantas Sabonis, who has missed Sacramento’s last six games with a hamstring injury. Sabonis practiced on Wednesday and could return to play in Phoenix on Friday. If this was Valanciunas’ final game as a starter, it wasn’t a great send off. He was benched in the second half in favor of Trey Lyles, who scored 11 points in 22 minutes. This was likely more about matchups since Golden State isn’t an easy matchup for a big like Valanciunas. If Sabonis remains out against the Suns, Valanciunas should continue to start despite this frustrating night.

Despite being a consistent starter, Barnes has been a non-factor in fantasy basketball this season. He’s an efficient player that can hit some three-pointers, but he doesn’t help in any individual category. However, he was unconscious as a scorer in Monday’s loss. His two missed field goal attempts were both three-pointers, meaning he made all eight of his two-point attempts. He didn’t enjoy that same success at the free throw line as he made just one of his three shots. Vassell has scored 15 points or more in consecutive games for the first time in nearly a month. While the fantasy value since the All-Star break has been poor, the Spurs wing has been a 12th-round player over the past week.
