Clifford underwent an MRI after injuring his left foot during Sunday’s win over the Nets, and imaging revealed a midfoot sprain. Given the timeline, there isn’t much to gain from stashing the rookie in an IL slot in fantasy leagues. Malik Monk has a high ceiling, but only if the Kings allow him to play quality minutes consistently. Daeqwon Plowden and Devin Carter will receive more opportunities to perform, as they are less proven than Monk at this stage in their respective careers.

A late scratch ahead of Saturday’s win over the Pacers, Vassell returned to the starting lineup on Monday. He did not provide much value in his 21 minutes, shooting 1-of-4 from beyond the arc. Category league managers will take the assists, but they’ll hope for more production from Vassell in the Spurs’ final two games of the week. Games against Memphis and Milwaukee will be good opportunities for him to get his numbers after struggling against the Heat.

Castle was back in the Spurs’ lineup after missing two games with a hip injury, and he played 23 minutes. There was an injury scare during the first half, as the reigning Rookie of the Year took an inadvertent Jaime Jaquez Jr. knee to the head, but he returned to action after a short stint on the bench. And with the Spurs winning by 25 points, there was little need for the team to have Castle play starters’ minutes in his first game back. Harrison Barnes returned to the bench on Monday, finishing with 13 points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals and four three-pointers.

Wemby was dominant on both ends of the floor on Monday, shooting 50 percent from the field while also putting up 14 rebounds and five blocks. His defense was one of the reasons why Miami’s Bam Adebayo shot 5-of-17 from the field, and ten of his attempts came from beyond the arc. Since the All-Star break, only Nikola Jokić has been better in terms of category league value than Wembanyama. And with the Spurs ending Week 22 with games against the Grizzlies and Bucks, two more robust stat lines may be in the phenom’s future.

Given how small the Nets were in the frontcourt on Sunday, this was an excellent matchup for Achiuwa. While the shooting percentages weren’t great, fantasy managers will certainly take the 15 rebounds. The final tally was a season-high in that category, and Achiuwa is up to ten double-doubles on the season. Like fellow starter Maxime Raynaud, the Kings are likely to continue playing Achiuwa heavy minutes for the rest of the season, preserving his fantasy value. With no Russell Westbrook and Killian Hayes (toe) and Nique Clifford (ankle) leaving Sunday’s game due to injuries, there was room for Monk to do what he’s capable of offensively.
