Fox totaled his lowest scoring total of the season on Wednesday while committing six turnovers for the second straight contest. He struggled with his shooting both inside and outside the arc along the way, but ended up tying a season-high in assists. Fox has seen his scoring production dip in each game since his return from injury. He’ll likely need to shake off some early-season rust before he rounds into form.

Castle joined Victor Wembanyama as one of two Spurs players to tally triple-doubles on Wednesday. Castle was unimpactful from beyond the arc, and used all two-point shots and free throws to finish with more than 20 points on the evening. Wednesday marked his fourth game in a row with double-digit assists, and it appears as though De’Aaron Fox’s return to the lineup won’t impact Castle in a negative way.

Wemby recorded another phenomenal stat line on Wednesday, as he led all Spurs in points and rebounds, while tying a team-high in assists. The former first-overall pick was efficient from beyond the arc, but his eight turnovers indicated he wasn’t fully in control on the offensive end. Turnovers aside, Wemby had a productive outing against Golden State. He’ll have an opportunity to land an even better performance in Friday’s rematch.

While the usual suspects played well for the Rockets on Wednesday, the team also received excellent production from its bench. Eason recorded his second 20-point game of the season and finished one three-pointer shy of his previous high. He’s ranked just outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats, with decreases in rebounds and steals production lowering Eason’s value. He did not record any defensive stats on Wednesday, the only thing that fantasy managers could complain about when assessing Eason’s performance.

Şengün has recorded six double-doubles this season, including Wednesday’s effort against the Wizards. The final stat line was modest, but Şengün has dished out at least six assists in every game he’s played. He’s providing third-round value in eight-cat formats, not too far removed from his Yahoo! ADP of 19. Şengün and the Rockets should be challenged more on Friday when they host the Trail Blazers in an NBA Cup group play matchup.

The Rockets grabbed control of Wednesday’s game early, scoring 40 points in the first quarter and 41 in the second. That may have limited Durant’s output, as he only needed to play 31 minutes. He’s failed to score at least 20 points in a game just twice this season, providing the consistent production the Rockets hoped to receive when they acquired the future Hall of Famer from the Suns during the offseason. Houston hosts Portland on Friday in an NBA Cup group play matchup.

Vassell exited Monday’s win over the Spurs with 6:37 remaining in the third quarter and did not return. The good news is that he is not on the injury report for Wednesday’s game, so Vassell will occupy his usual place in the starting lineup. If there are any issues, Julian Champagnie and Keldon Johnson will figure more prominently in the Spurs’ rotation.

“French Vanilla,” the nickname given to the tandem of Kornet and Victor Wembanyama, is back. The former returned to the Spurs’ rotation after missing seven games with ankle and shoulder injuries, and he looked sharp. Kornet played 20 minutes off the bench and was the only Spurs reserve to finish with a positive plus/minus. What that stat never tells the whole story of a player’s impact, the Spurs are much better when Kornet is available. His return meant less playing time for Kelly Olynyk, who accounted for two assists in four minutes of action.

After committing at least five turnovers in each of San Antonio’s first four games, Castle has done a better job of valuing the basketball recently. And over his last two games, the second-year guard has recorded 25 assists and three turnovers. Castle has looked good running the show alongside De’Aaron Fox, who has taken on more scoring responsibilities since returning to the court. Closing in on top-100 value in nine-cat formats for the season, Castle has been a top-20 player over the past two weeks according to Basketball Monster.

While Fox had a good night shooting the basketball, the efficiency took a hit due to his committing six turnovers. However, a little rust is unsurprising, given the amount of time he missed due to injury. Fox has totaled 45 points in his two appearances, shooting 17-of-28 from the field, and he only had two turnovers in his debut on Saturday. Thus far, the positives have outweighed the negatives for Fox, who’s establishing better on-court chemistry with Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle.

Wemby was at his best when the Spurs needed him to be, hitting multiple shots in crunch time to help San Antonio rally for the win. He shot 6-of-8 from the field in the fourth quarter, including two three-pointers in the game’s final minute, the second of which gave San Antonio a 117-114 lead that it would not relinquish. After struggling offensively in Week 3, Wembanyama has gotten his Week 4 off to an excellent start.

Unfortunately, Vassell’s night ended with 6:37 remaining in the third quarter due to a migraine headache. Given the limited production in 21 minutes before his exit, the Spurs wing may have been trying to play through the pain before having to leave. Julian Champagnie (zero points, two rebounds, one assist and three steals) replaced Vassell at the time and may return to the starting lineup if he can’t play against the Warriors on Wednesday. Keldon Johnson (10/7/1/1 in 19 minutes) is another player whose role may expand if Vassell misses time, but his fantasy ceiling is limited coming off the bench.

Kornet is recovering from left ankle and right shoulder sprains, which have sidelined him for San Antonio’s last seven games. While Sheppard got off to an inconsistent start on the offensive end of the floor, he’s picked up the production recently. The second-year guard has reached double figures in three straight games, and he’s recorded seven steals during this stretch. Sheppard’s four steals on Sunday were a career-high, surpassing the three he recorded in an October 25 loss to the Pistons. While he still isn’t at the point where he has to be rostered in 12-team leagues, Sheppard is a player to watch for the back end of Week 4, as Houston doesn’t play again until Wednesday.

With his streak of three straight games with a double-double ending in Friday’s loss to the Spurs, Şengün got to work on another streak Sunday afternoon. Of the five double-doubles he has recorded this season, the Rockets center has scored at least 20 points in four. Durant produced an offensive masterclass on Sunday, missing only four shots from the field and recording his third 30-point game of the season. And this comes on the heels of a three-game run that was anything but the norm for Durant. During that stretch, he averaged 18.7 points per game while shooting 35.2 percent from the field. It’s safe to say that Durant is back on track ahead of Houston’s three-game Week 4, and the Rockets don’t play again until Wednesday.

Suiting up for the first time this season, Fox had no issues getting his shot to fall. He scored 15 points in the second quarter alone and led the Spurs in scoring to help them move to 7-2. Head coach Mitch Johnson said Fox wouldn’t have a minutes restriction, and he ended up logging 30 minutes. That should increase as he logs more games, and they don’t have a back-to-back until December, which should help Fox be available for the rest of the month.

With De’Aaron Fox (hamstring) available for the first time this season, Castle didn’t take the expected backseat. He accounted for nearly half of the Spurs’ assists, while Fox only had three dimes. Castle also played 35 minutes. If the plan is to take advantage of Fox’s scoring ability and keep him fresh by allowing Castle to dominate the ball, then both guards can thrive in fantasy hoops. It’s only one game, but it seems like Castle isn’t going to take a hit in production.

Though he was elite to start the season, Wemby’s last few games have been rough. Over the last four games, he has shot just 39.7 percent from the floor while averaging 17 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.5 blocks per game. Of course, for most players, those are strong numbers. But it’s the inefficiency that has torn down his recent production; Wemby is also averaging five turnovers during this four-game stretch. He’ll look to get back on track in Chicago on Monday.

Durant added another 20-point game to his collection, marking the sixth time he’s done so as a Houston Rocket. As he often does, the two-time Finals MVP thrived as a scorer at all three levels and also found production at the free-throw line. Sengun had another balanced performance on Friday against the Spurs, which was good enough to nearly collect a triple-double. Such well-rounded stat lines are the new normal for Sengun in his fifth NBA season, having firmly placed himself on the short list of upper-echelon centers. Inefficient shooting from beyond the arc ultimately led to him falling short of his scoring average and prevented him from achieving an even more dominant final stat line. Still, Sengun logged another solid game overall.

Sheppard set a new season-high in points and logged his second double-digit scoring performance in a row, again using the three-point shot to his advantage on Friday. Castle landed his first double-double of the season on Friday, posting a new season-high in assists in the victory. Poor shooting from beyond the arc hurt his overall scoring efficiency against the Rockets, but his accuracy inside the arc, combined with solid production from the free throw line, allowed the young point guard to finish in double figures as a scorer for the eighth straight time to begin the season.
