Johnson’s inconsistent scoring recently has negatively affected his fantasy value, especially given his limited defensive production. He’s reached double figures in three of his last six games, but Thursday’s stat line was solid. While there have been more opportunities with Devin Vassell out of the lineup, Johnson’s game will not have a significant impact in category leagues. There’s no need to consider streaming him in 12-team leagues.

While De’Aaron Fox and Victor Wembanyama combined to score 57 points, Castle had one of his best games of the season from a distribution standpoint. In addition to eight assists, the second-year guard recorded just one turnover in 37 minutes. Fox scored 12 of his 31 points during the fourth quarter, a fitting cap to one of his best games of the season. This was his third 30-point game of the season and first since December 3, with the Spurs guard shooting the ball exceptionally well from the field. Over the past two weeks, Fox has offered fourth-round per-game value in eight-cat formats.

Wembanyama has recorded double-doubles in three straight and four of his last five appearances. Rollins has dished out seven assists in two of his last three games, and his season-long fantasy value continues to hold steady just outside the top-50 in eight-cat formats. Not only were the nine assists a season-high for Portis, but Wednesday’s tally equalled his total in Milwaukee’s previous eight games. While Gary Harris (three points, one assist and one three-pointer) started for the injured Myles Turner, he only played nine minutes, and Portis was in the lineup to begin the third quarter. If Turner isn’t back for Friday’s game against the Nuggets, one would think that Portis would be his replacement. It doesn’t make sense to start anyone else.

Like Victor Wembanyama, Castle had a rough night shooting the basketball. The good news for fantasy managers was that the rebounds and assists were solid, and Castle kept the turnovers (three) in check. Tuesday’s game ranks among the worst in Wembanyama’s two-plus NBA season. In addition to missing all seven of his three-point attempts, the Spurs center was 5-of-14 from inside the arc. Bryant has only played a small role for San Antonio this season, but he was able to see a bump in minutes in this game, which allowed him to set a new career high for points. Looking to give the bench unit a spark, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers moved Porter to the bench, with Kyle Kuzma moving into the starting lineup. Turner’s making four three-pointers in Monday’s victory was not a surprise, as he is one of the best perimeter-shooting bigs in the NBA. However, the veteran center was more productive on the glass than he’s been for most of this season. A double-digit scorer in five straight games, Portis’ 19 points were the most he’s had in a game since dropping 20 in a January 2 win over the Hornets. While there wasn’t much rebounding production to be had, the veteran forward had a good afternoon shooting the basketball. Portis has only exceeded 25 minutes in two of the seven games he’s played this month, and the playing time does more harm to his fantasy ceiling than being used in a reserve role.
