Having begun the season as Sacramento’s starting point guard, Schröder lost his job on November 14, and the demotion has negatively impacted his fantasy value. However, the veteran guard is capable of having the occasional big night despite coming off the bench. Saturday was an example of that, with Schröder only needing 15 minutes to record one of his best lines of the season. The potential, which was realized on Saturday, is why Schröder is still rostered in 36 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Playing in Denver for the first time since leaving the Nuggets in free agency this summer, Westbrook was outstanding on Saturday. The veteran point guard recorded an efficient double-double, and he’s providing top-100 value in eight-cat formats. Westbrook’s play led to him replacing Dennis Schröder as the Kings’ starting point guard earlier this season, and the depth chart won’t change anytime soon, given his solid play. The Kings play four games in Week 6, starting with the Timberwolves on Monday.

Murray was inserted into the starting lineup on Saturday after coming off the bench in his season debut on Thursday. The good news for fantasy managers was that he was pretty involved in the Kings’ offense, something that had been a concern last season, when he was playing alongside Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan for the first time. If Murray can make stat lines like the one he recorded on Saturday a habit, fantasy managers won’t have any need for concern.

After playing 32 minutes off the bench in his season debut on Thursday, Murray is in the starting lineup. Taking on his usual role, he’ll push Precious Achiuwa to the bench. While Murray can easily provide excellent fantasy value, Achiuwa wasn’t worth streaming when allowed to start. Eubanks continues to start for Domantas Sabonis, who will remain out for a few more weeks.

Sabonis has a partially torn left meniscus, which has him set to be re-evaluated between Dec. 11 and 18. This is a tough blow for a Kings team that has started the season slowly.

Given his career track record in fantasy basketball, it would be understandable if some fantasy managers overlooked Johnson in seeking alternatives with Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle unavailable. However, he’s hit double figures in three straight, with Thursday’s performance being one of Johnson’s best this season. Rostered in 14 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he has provided eighth-round value in eight-cat formats over the past week.

Fox has scored at least 24 points in four straight games, the last three being played without Victor Wembanyama. The absences of Wemby and Stephon Castle put Fox in a position to provide added fantasy value, and he’s been up to the task. Limited to nine points in Tuesday’s win over the Grizzlies, Champagnie was much better in his second start for the injured Stephon Castle. He notched his second 20-point game of the season, finishing two shy of his season-high. While Champagnie has only been a 10th-round player over the past two weeks, he boasts a higher ceiling now that he’s in the starting lineup. He’s worth considering in deep leagues, especially for managers needing three-pointers.

After shooting 7-of-17 from the field and tallying 16 points in his last two appearances, LaVine got back on track Thursday night. He’s scored at least 25 points in eight of his 14 appearances this season, but lackluster production in assists, steals and blocked shots has limited the veteran wing’s fantasy ceiling. LaVine is ranked just outside the top-75 in eight-cat formats, and he’s barely hanging onto a top-100 spot in nine-cat.

Murray made his first appearance of the season on Thursday, but he was not inserted into the starting lineup. Precious Achiuwa remained in the starting power forward role, playing 24 minutes and finishing with two points and five rebounds. There were times when he and Murray shared the court, but Murray logging 32 minutes in his debut is a positive sign. Where he fits in Doug Christie’s rotation bears watching. While Murray has been a starter throughout his career, coming off the bench on this particular team may open things up for him offensively. Getting consistent shots sharing the court with Russell Westbrook, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis (when healthy) will be challenging.

Sabonis also missed Wednesday’s game against the Thunder, but there was some hope he would suit up for the second game of the back-to-back. This was the likely outcome a couple of days ago, but now Murray is officially set to make his season debut after offseason thumb surgery. It’s unlikely that he will play a starter’s workload right out of the gate, but he’s not a high usage player to begin with, so he can help the Kings and fantasy managers without 30+ minutes. With Domantas Sabonis (knee) out on Thursday, that’s one less player to compete with Murray for touches, so Murray needs to be rostered in most formats by now.

Schröder followed up Sunday’s 22-point effort with 21 points off the bench against the Thunder on Wednesday. The 32-year-old point guard ended up playing at least 32 minutes in both games. While Vassell did not shoot well on Tuesday, the assists and defensive stats are what should be the focus. With Stephon Castle (hip) out for at least one to two weeks, there should be more opportunities for Vassell to serve as a primary playmaker. Two days removed from recording his first double-double of the season, Johnson stepped up with another solid outing in the second game the Spurs have played since losing Victor Wembanyama to a calf strain. He hasn’t been the best category league option for most of his NBA career, but Johnson may be worth a look with Wemby and Stephon Castle unavailable. However, one can’t blame those who may want to see more before committing, as Keldon is ranked just outside the top-150 in nine-cat formats. With the Spurs trailing by a point with just over three minutes remaining, the veteran forward went on a personal 7-0 run to reclaim control of the game.
