Inactive since December 29 due to a strained adductor, Vassell was used in a reserve role on Sunday. While there was some rust to shake off, the Spurs’ wing playing 25 minutes without issue is the most important takeaway. Julian Champagnie (13 points, four rebounds, one assist and one three-pointer) remained in the starting lineup, but he played 26 minutes after logging 34 in each of the prior two games. There will likely come a point when Vassell returns to the starting lineup, with Champagnie heading to the bench.

San Antonio’s starting backcourt of Fox and Stephon Castle (five points, four rebounds, five assists and one steal) combined to shoot 5-of-14 from the field on Sunday. While that wasn’t the only reason for the loss, it certainly didn’t help the Spurs’ cause. Over the past two weeks, Fox has been close to a top-50 player in eight-cat formats, with the foul line (63.3 percent) being his issue. Given the season-long value, Fox should be fine moving forward.

Wembanyama and the Spurs struggled to knock down shots on Sunday, making 40 percent of their attempts from the field and shooting 12-of-44 from beyond the arc. Wemby’s line included a poor effort from the foul line, with the 7-foot-4 sensation making two of his six attempts. All wasn’t lost for fantasy managers due to the rebounds and blocks, but overall, this was an underwhelming end to Week 14 for Wembanyama. The Spurs begin a three-game Week 15 in Houston on Wednesday.

Collier has come off the bench in each of his last four appearances, reaching double figures in scoring in three of them. On Saturday, the second-year guard had an effective night as a scorer and playmaker, even with the Jazz getting blown out. Two days removed from one of his worst performances of the season, Sensabaugh got back on track Saturday night. Utah shot 7-of-25 from three as a team on Saturday, and George was at the center of those struggles. He missed all eight of his attempts, sinking his field-goal percentage as a result. After joining Pete Maravich in the Jazz record books in Thursday’s loss to the Spurs, Nurkić made more history on Saturday. The veteran center became the first player in franchise history to record a triple-double in three consecutive games. Nurkić has played in each of Utah’s last four games, but the availability is a concern due to the Jazz prioritizing the development of their young players. As long as he’s playing starters’ minutes, Nurk’s presence limits Kyle Filipowski (9/4/3/1 with one three-pointer in 16 minutes) from a fantasy standpoint.

Initially doubtful for Saturday’s game, Nurkić is now listed as available. However, there have been a few instances this season in which the 7-footer has not played despite not being ruled out. If the Jazz were hoping to drum up trade interest for Nurkić ahead of the February 5 deadline, the last two games won’t hurt. On Thursday, the 7-footer became the first player to record triple-doubles in consecutive games in the franchise’s history in Utah. Counting the New Orleans years, Nurkić and the late, great Pete Maravich are the only Jazz players to record a triple-double in consecutive games. George has scored at least 23 points in four straight and six of his last seven games, an impressive run for one of the NBA’s most improved players. Over the past two weeks, he has offered top-15 per-game value in eight-cat formats. While the Jazz are just 2-5 in their last seven games, the franchise is clearly prioritizing player development and its draft lottery odds. Castle needed just 26 minutes of game action on Thursday to secure his first double-double in nearly one month. The second-year guard scored efficiently from the floor, and while he reached double figures in assists, the zero turnovers he committed were perhaps even more impressive.
