Sunday will be Bassey’s first appearance in a game since February 23. The time off will likely mean his minutes will be restricted, but Bismack Biyombo and Sando Mamukelashvili may lose out on playing time with Bassey available. Rhoden has missed eight games since exploding for 25 points against the 76ers and has a chance to return on Sunday. He’s too much of a wildcard right now and fantasy managers should be cautious about rostering him given how long he’s been out of the rotation.

Johnson has woken up a bit with his play in March as the injury to De’Aaron Fox has opened up some more playing time. The 25-year-old small forward had 23 points on 12 shots including two made three-pointers. Johnson also pulled down six rebounds and dished out three assists in 34 minutes off the bench. He’s in the midst of a hot stretch to end the season and has reliable playing time for a bench player.

Poeltl led all scorers, and he reached that mark on an efficient 12-of-14 shooting. The 24 points are his most since he scored 25 on January 3, though the big man has dropped at least 20 points in three of his last six. Over the Raptors’ last 12 games, Poeltl has alternated between playing and resting, and Toronto is expected to keep going with that song and dance to close out the 2024-25 campaign. The Raptors face the 76ers on Sunday, and we wouldn’t expect Poeltl to play in that one.

Vassell has carried a large portion of the Spurs’ offense recently, with Thursday’s loss marking the fourth-straight game that he has finished with at least 20 points and three triples. March has been a phenomenal month for Vassell, and it gives Spurs fans plenty of optimism heading into next season despite their postseason chances being dashed by the injuries to Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox. Vassell’s numbers overall this season are down from last year, but March has been one of the best stretches of his young career.

March has been kind to Johnson up until San Antonio’s last two games. However, he was able to get back on track on Thursday and record his third double-double of the season and his first since January. This was also the fourth time in their last seven games that he has swiped at least two steals. He averages 0.7 steals over the course of the season and isn’t known for contributing defensive stats often, but this has been an improved stretch. If he can keep this going into next year, he may be a valuable player in category formats.

Despite a subpar shooting night from Castle, he was still able to produce a strong stat line that nearly resulted in the first triple-double of his career. It ended up being the third double-double of his career, and he has scored at least 15 points in each of his last eight games, which is when he returned to the starting unit. Despite not having a back-to-back to manage, the Raptors have decided to rest Barrett and Agbaji for Friday’s game. The former’s absence opens up a spot in the starting lineup, which Immanuel Quickley could fill since he is not on the injury report. Barrett has only been available for three of the Raptors’ last eight games. So, while he has reached double figures in all but one game he’s appeared in this season, the availability has done fantasy managers no favors. And with the Raptors essentially playing out the string, that may remain an issue between now and the end of the season. Barrett shouldn’t be dropped in standard leagues, but shallow-league managers should watch for alternatives.

Barnes had a tough night shooting-wise, but he has connected on 47 percent of his shots over the past two weeks. That has been an encouraging development for a player shooting 44.5 percent for the season. Something that may be helping is the decrease in three-point attempts. Barnes has been averaging three attempts per game since the All-Star break, a drop of nearly two attempts per game compared to his three-point frequency before. He isn’t a good perimeter shooter, and taking fewer shots from that range may boost his overall numbers.

While Robinson did not play starters’ minutes despite being in the starting lineup, he made the most of his opportunity. The 23 points were two shy of his season-high, and Robinson finished with his fourth double-double. However, he entered Wednesday having scored 19 points in his prior three games. This performance was a departure from the norm for Robinson, who’s ranked outside the top 200 over the past two weeks. While Castle’s fantasy value has not been great, the rookie has averaged 17.3 points per game since the All-Star break. If there has been a silver lining in the cloud that was the Spurs losing Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox, there’s been more room for Castle to operate. Quickley had a subpar shooting in the win over Washington, and he entered halftime shooting 2-of-11 from the floor. He was slightly better after the break, and he was able to do plenty of scoring at the free throw line. However, like the other veterans, Quickley was limited to just 26 minutes. Toronto came away with a win, though limiting the minutes of Quickley, Jakob Poeltl and Scottie Barnes was a clear move that they weren’t interested in that happening.
