Porziņģis was back in the starting lineup after a three-game absence, recording a solid stat line in San Antonio. Just as important was his not showing any ill effects from the sore knee that sidelined him. Porziņģis’ return pushed Onyeka Okongwu to the bench, and Double-O finished with 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three three-pointers in 25 minutes. Okongwu, who suffered an injury scare during Thursday’s game when San Antonio’s Luke Kornet fell into his right leg, remains valuable in fantasy basketball. But his ceiling is lower with Porziņģis in the lineup.

Johnson recorded his seventh double-double of the season on Thursday, finishing three assists shy of his second triple-double. Since Halloween, he has been a top-10 player in eight- and nine-cat formats, providing elite fantasy value when the Hawks play without Trae Young (knee). While some may be concerned about what happens with Johnson once Young returns, it’s difficult to envision the Hawks asking him to take a back seat, given how well he’s played.

Alexander-Walker has scored at least 20 points in six of his starts filling in for the injured Trae Young. However, the production across the stat line has been lacking at times. There were no such concerns on Thursday, as Alexander-Walker notched a career-high 38 points, surpassing 35 for the first time since January 13, 2021. Rostered in 40 percent of Yahoo! leagues, NAW has provided top-25 value in eight-cat formats over the past week. It has been a scorching hot start to the year for George, and after scoring a season-high 33 points on Sunday, he surpassed that mark for a second straight game. George showed plenty of flashes through his first two seasons in the league, but he is currently averaging career-highs in both points and assists per game. His field goal percentage has still been rough, but that wasn’t an issue in this game, though that isn’t something fantasy managers should get used to.

The absences of Zaccharie Risacher (hip) and Kristaps Porziņģis, plus some foul trouble for Onyeka Okongwu, led to Gueye playing an extended role off the bench. NAW has been excellent as a fill-in with Trae Young (knee) sidelined. After scoring a season-high 26 points in Atlanta’s last game, he nearly matched that mark in this one. The defensive stats haven’t come as consistently, but he has been a reliable scoring option, having scored at least 20 points in five of his last eight games. Even though it wasn’t enough for the Hawks to win, Johnson’s elite stretch has continued. This was a third consecutive start for Okongwu due to the continued absence of Kristaps Porzingis with a knee sprain. He continues to be an effective scorer, averaging 26.7 points and 5.0 three-pointers per game during this three-game stretch. However, he was rendered ineffective on the glass in this one. Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson and Mouhamed Gueye made an impact as rebounders, so the Hawks weren’t dominated on the boards. However, they didn’t lose that battle, and it’s difficult to look elsewhere when the starting center only grabs one rebound. Johnson was dominant in this game, recording the third triple-double of his career and his first of the season. On top of that, he set new career-highs for points, rebounds, assists and steals while matching his career-high for three-pointers. Usually it’s difficult to say if a game is truly the best of a player’s career, but it doesn’t feel hyperbolic to say that for Johnson. He started to break out last season, but shoulder injuries cut his year short. Now, he’s healthy enough to put the league on notice, and the absence of Trae Young (knee) has allowed Johnson to see a bump in usage. With Young likely still a few weeks away from returning, Johnson will continue to run the show in Atlanta, which should lead to more elite production from him. What will be interesting to see is how this team adjusts to Young’s return; the Hawks have the second-best defensive rating in the league in the month of November and have won four in a row without him.

Markkanen got off to a scorching-hot start to this game, scoring 25 points in just the first half. He was still effective after the break as well, but it wasn’t enough for the Jazz to get the win. It has been an excellent year for Markkanen, which has been great to see after a disappointing 2024-25 campaign. After a dramatic dip in scoring and shooting percentage, Markkanen is back to playing at an All-Star level. This 40-point performance was the second time he has eclipsed that threshold this season, with the first coming in his season-best 51-point night in October. Utah is likely heading back to the lottery, but Markkanen’s early success is a good thing for the future of the Jazz. Whether he’s used as a trade piece to bring back more draft capital or to help them turn into a competitive team next season, Markkanen playing well and increasing his trade value will help the Jazz long term.

With Kristaps Porzingis (rest) sitting out the second night of the Hawks’ back-to-back, Okongwu got the starting nod, as expected. What wasn’t expected was how effective he’d be from deep. He shattered his previous career-high for triples and set a new career-high for points as well. Okongwu has improved as a deep-range shooter throughout his career, but the strides he has taken this year can’t be understated; he’s averaging 1.6 three-pointers per game this year, which is more than double what he averaged last year. OO is developing into a true stretch five, which makes him and the Hawks even more dangerous. He’s at his best in the box score when Porzingis isn’t available, but the two centers have been able to share the floor at times this year as well. Okongwu will continue to be a reliable option in fantasy basketball, regardless of what format you’re playing in. However, he turns into a fantasy superstar when Porzingis is out, which is worth noting since the Hawks have another back-to-back coming up next weekend.

Coming off the bench for the second straight game, Collier was excellent in his 26 minutes. Not only did the second-year guard record his first double-double of the season, but he also committed only two turnovers. Collier’s ability to get others involved is what gives him value in deeper fantasy leagues, even if he continues to come off the bench. On Tuesday, he picked up the slack for starter Keyonte George (10/5/7), who shot 3-of-12 from the field.
