Zubac finished Tuesday’s defeat with his first double-double of the season, hitting double digits in the rebounds category. During the preseason, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said he believed Zubac played too much last season. After averaging 32.8 minutes per game in 2024-25, out of necessity due to the Clippers’ shallow interior rotation, Big Zu has averaged 27.6 minutes over the first week. A few of the games being blowouts has been a factor, as was the addition of Brook Lopez (3/2/1 in 19 minutes). While Zubac has a safe fantasy floor, his ceiling will take a hit if he can’t consistently play 30 minutes.

Leonard may have been the Clippers’ second-leading scorer on Tuesday, but this was a relatively quiet performance from the six-time All-Star. He shot 4-of-10 from the field in the first half and provided limited value outside of points and rebounds. Through four games, Leonard has been what many fantasy managers expected him to be, providing fourth-round value in nine-cat formats. The hope is that he’s consistently available, which would significantly raise Leonard’s fantasy ceiling.

Defensively, the Warriors limited Harden’s ability to get his teammates quality shots. He recorded just one assist and missed all three of his field-goal attempts in the second half. Even a great player like Harden produces the occasional dud, yet he still led the Clippers in scoring. He’ll look to bounce back when the Clippers host the Pelicans on Friday.

Batum wasn’t in the starting lineup to begin Tuesday’s 19-point defeat, but he was part of the five who began the third quarter. Bogdan Bogdanović (two points and one rebound in nine minutes) received the starting nod but only played the first five minutes of the first half, as he continues to struggle with his shot. Regardless of who starts while Bradley Beal (back) is sidelined, neither is worth the streaming risk. The Clippers are off until Friday, when they host the Pelicans.

Nurkić is dealing with a right hip contusion. If he’s unable to play, Kevin Love could be tabbed to take on some minutes as Walker Kessler’s backup. The veteran forward, the subject of contract buyout rumors during the offseason, has not appeared in a game this season. There’s no need to consider streaming Love if Nurkić can’t play.

Not only did Markkanen set a new career-high for points, but he was able to have the first 50-point regular season game for the Jazz since April 7, 1998. It has been a strong start to the year for Markkanen after a down 2024-25 season; he is averaging 34.7 points and 4.7 three-pointers per game. Whether or not the Jazz trade him or keep him, he’s doing everything he can to improve his value. His fifth-round Yahoo! ADP is looking like a bargain at this point. He’ll look to stay hot with the Trail Blazers coming to town on Wednesday.

This was one of the best performances of George’s career as he finished with at least 25 points and 10 assists for the first time. Through three games, he is averaging 20.0 points and 9.7 assists per game, both of which would be the best marks of his career. He has stepped up with Isaiah Collier (hamstring) sidelined, and if he keeps playing this well, it’s difficult to imagine Collier not keeping the starting point guard job when Collier gets healthy.

After a quiet performance in the Jazz’s loss to the Kings on Friday, Kessler bounced back with a monster night. Through three games, he is now averaging 16.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.7 steals, 2.7 blocks and 1.0 triple per game while shooting 85 percent from the floor and 76.5 percent from the line. Rebounds aside, those would all be career highs. Will this level of production continue? No, but it’s been an amazing start for him.

This will be a second straight absence for Beal, who had been on a minutes restriction due to a knee issue to start the year. Now, it’s his back that’s bothering him. Bogdan Bogdanovic could get another start, but he was held scoreless in 24 minutes on Sunday with five turnovers. Kris Dunn is another candidate to fill the role.

Bogdanović played like someone who was out of the Clippers’ rotation and didn’t play in their first two games for a reason. Filling in for Bradley Beal (back), Bogdanović went 0-for-4 from the field with no points and five turnovers in 24 minutes. It’s difficult to spin that performance. Kris Dunn was more effective off the bench with nine points in 21 minutes and could draw the start the next time Beal is out.

Sunday was Zubac’s best game yet on the young season. His 21 points and eight rebounds represent season-highs. The 28-year-old center averaged 12.6 rebounds per game last year so it’s reasonable to expect his rebounding numbers to pick up in the near future. Zubac continues to dominate the center role for the Clippers playing 35 minutes to Brook Lopez’ 13 minutes off the bench.

Jones Jr. went perfect from the field before finishing as one of the Clippers’ three best scorers on the evening. He repeatedly stepped into his three-point shots confidently and proceeded to knock each catch-and-shoot triple down one after the other. Jones Jr. eventually concluded with the most threes in a game that he’s made as a Clipper. The two produced stocks were the cherry on top for what was a productive night for him overall.

Leonard bounced back from a poor 10-point, 3-of-9 shooting performance in the Clippers’ blowout loss to the Jazz on Wednesday by nearly scoring 30 in a one-sided win over the Suns on Friday. The two-time Finals MVP ramped things up in the second quarter on the offensive end, which gave him the boost that ultimately led him to finish as one of the two highest scorers in the game. Leonard performed well on both ends of the floor and remains capable of having dominant outings on a nightly basis.

Harden needed only 28 minutes to reach 30 points on Friday, using high efficiency on low volume, and production from the free-throw line to do so. The 14-point first quarter did the heavy lifting, while solid work on the glass and usual productivity as a facilitator rounded out his performance. Harden didn’t play during the fourth quarter due to the lopsided score, but still concluded with a productive game.

Despite struggling from beyond the arc, Markannen put together an efficient shooting performance overall as he made his way past the 30-point mark for the first time this season. The veteran forward led Utah in scoring and was one of five Jazz players to reach double figures. Markannen wasn’t involved much as either a rebounder or facilitator in his 36 minutes, nor did he accumulate any stocks. His fantasy production on Friday essentially came from his scoring and contributions from beyond the arc.

George logged another strong performance as both a scorer and a playmaker after a 16-point, nine-assist night in the season opener against the Clippers. He ultimately topped those numbers on Friday and amassed his first double-double of the season. The third-year guard has now tallied at least nine assists in each game during the opening week of the season, showing early signs of improved playmaking. If he can keep up the pace as a passer, he’ll have a chance to put together a strong fantasy basketball season.

Sensabaugh was Utah’s second-leading scorer on Friday. The three-point made up half of his field goals while he also made contributions on the defensive glass throughout his 22 minutes of game action. The third-year forward logged a productive preseason as a scorer, which appears to have translated into the early part of the regular season. If his workload and spot in the rotation remain consistent, Sensabaugh could be in for a career-best season. He’s tallied 35 points and six three-pointers through the first two games of the season.

Harden didn’t exactly lift his team up in this one. While he didn’t play as poorly as Kawhi Leonard, The Beard had just 15 points on 12 shots and was 2-of-9 from behind the three-point line. In one of the biggest upsets of Wednesday’s NBA action, the Clippers didn’t show up for the season opener in Utah. Leonard wasn’t without blame in this one. The 24-year-old forward had just 10 points on 3-of-9 shooting in 29 minutes. Kawhi was 1-of-5 from behind the three-point line, turned the ball over twice and was -25 in the 21-point loss to the Jazz. Given all the injuries in his past, fantasy managers shudder to think that this is one of the healthy games they’ll get from Leonard this year.

Kessler was incredibly efficient Wednesday. He was 7-of-7 from the floor, made 6-of-8 free throws and had four assists to just one turnover. After an offseason full of trade speculation, Markkanen had his typical good game against the Clippers in the season opener. The 28-year-old power forward had 20 points and made 4-of-7 three-point attempts. He chipped in six rebounds and five assists as well. Markkanen can still be a top-50 fantasy player when healthy as he showed against the Clippers on Wednesday.

The Jazz starting lineup will raise some eyebrows, as Mykhailiuk and Filipowski are among the first five. The former filled that role throughout the preseason, while the latter started Utah’s preseason finale after being limited during training camp. Filipowski is the superior option for fantasy managers, as he offers a more varied offensive repertoire than Mykhailiuk. Also, Svi’s insertion into the lineup may be due to Ace Bailey (illness) being under a minutes restriction. George will start at point guard, as Isaiah Collier (hamstring) is not ready to return to action.

The second-year guard will miss at least another week before he’s re-evaluated, leaving Keyonte George and rookie Walter Clayton Jr. to handle the point guard duties. With most of the Clippers’ rotation players either resting or playing limited minutes, Sanders saw some extended run on Friday and took full advantage. The rookie out of Nevada logged 37 minutes and utilized the three-point shot to pour in a game-high in points on the evening. Beal logged his first minutes in a Clippers uniform on Friday as he made his way back from offseason knee surgery. He got the start and made all six of his two-point shots before his night ended after the first half. Beal is expected to start for the Clippers in their regular-season opener and could serve as a nice replacement for Norman Powell, who had a career-best season alongside James Harden last season before being traded to the Miami Heat. If Beal can remain healthy, he should be a solid addition to a veteran team that has plenty of depth.

The Clippers are resting multiple regulars for Friday’s preseason finale, resulting in a starting lineup that we won’t see when the team opens its regular season on October 22. Beal has been recovering from an arthroscopic knee procedure that he underwent in July, which has limited him throughout training camp and prevented him from playing in the preseason. After offering limited production in his first action of the preseason on Monday, Filipowski was slightly better on Thursday. And his role changed, with the second-year forward/center starting while Taylor Hendricks (8/7/2 with one three-pointer in 24 minutes) came off the bench. Kyle offers a higher offensive ceiling, but Hendricks is the superior defender. While either one can begin the regular season as the starter, that may be a timeshare situation that limits the fantasy ceilings of both players.

While starting point guard Keyonte George only dished out two assists on Thursday, frontcourt starters Markkanen and Walker Kessler combined for 13. Markkanen, responsible for five helpers, shot the ball well and was a steal shy of a complete stat line. Lauri’s production has not been the concern for fantasy managers since he arrived in Utah; it has been the front office’s willingness to tank. While the front office said all the right things during the offseason regarding their desire to compete this season, the Western Conference is loaded, and a potential first overall pick (AJ Dybantsa) is playing not too far down the road at BYU. Those circumstances conspire to push Markkanen down some draft boards, even if he’s good enough to finish safely within the top-50 in fantasy basketball.

George, who averaged 5.6 assists per game last season, did most of his damage as a scorer in Utah’s preseason finale. Walker Kessler, taking on more of the facilitating duties and doing a good job of it, freed up George to hunt for his shot more, and he did so efficiently. With Isaiah Collier (hamstring) out and Walter Clayton Jr. (8/3/5/1 in 19 minutes) being a rookie, George may have the starting point guard job sewn up ahead of the October 22 regular season opener. If so, he’s a player worth selecting in standard league drafts just outside the first 100 picks, if not slightly earlier.

Limited by a left shoulder injury, Kessler saw his first action of the preseason on Thursday. And there were few, if any, signs of rust. More of the offense ran through the 7-footer, resulting in Kessler recording eight assists. The lack of turnovers was just as impressive, with Kessler only committing one. He only averaged 1.7 assists per game last season, recording five or more on five occasions, so fantasy managers should not overreact to Thursday’s performance. However, if Kessler is given more opportunities within the half-court to facilitate, that may raise his fantasy ceiling.

Kessler has been able to participate in practice, but he has been sidelined for their preseason games to this point.
