At long last, Williams is ready to make his season debut after undergoing wrist surgery not too long after the Thunder won the NBA title in June. Given the time missed, there will likely be a minutes restriction, even though the Thunder have not released an official number for the versatile forward. And with Oklahoma City boasting a league-best 18-1 record, there’s no need for the team to force too much upon Williams in his first game back.

Hartenstein was one of four Thunder players to score in double figures on Wednesday. As usual, his scoring was mostly done inside the arc, but with some inefficient free-throw shooting adding a bit more to his scoring total. He added a couple of stocks on the defensive end and wasn’t as productive on the glass as he usually is. He’ll have an opportunity to log a more productive line on Friday against the Suns.

Holmgren had mostly a quiet game until a massive three-pointer with 37.7 seconds remaining put him into double figures and gave OKC a comfortable four-point lead down the stretch. The former Gonzaga Bulldog was impactful in other areas as well — he led the Thunder in rebounding, was the only member of the team to record multiple threes, and chipped in on the defensive end with a pair of stocks. Despite his lower scoring total on Wednesday, Holmgren entered Wednesday’s contest averaging a career-high in points. He continues to shine in his third NBA season.

Gilgeous-Alexander put on another incredible display of shot-making in front of the national TV audience on Wednesday. The reigning league MVP missed just seven shots on the night en route to his second game of the season with at least 40 points. He answered with big shots and key free throws throughout the game, but also ended up leading the Thunder in scoring. OKC now owns an 18-1 record, and Gilgeous-Alexander is having another MVP-caliber season.

The reigning MVP will keep his perfect attendance during the 2025-26 season, as he’ll fight through an illness to log his 19th straight start on Wednesday. Gilgeous-Alexander has remained the head of the snake for the defending champions, and he continues to put forth MVP-like numbers. Due to an illness, Gilgeous-Alexander is at risk of missing a game for the first time this season. His absence would affect the entire Thunder rotation, given his productivity and usage. George knocked down 10-of-17 shots from the floor, while also adding six rebounds and seven assists, as Utah dropped their fourth straight contest and lost for the fifth time in their last six contests. The Jazz got off to a nice start in this one — the tail-end of a back-to-back after facing the Lakers on Sunday — racing out to an 11-0 advantage before Golden State roared back to take control for good. The Jazz are off until Friday when they square off against the Kings.

Since moving into the Jazz starting lineup on November 10, Bailey has averaged 13.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.1 three-pointers per game. That’s been suitable for 10th-round value in nine-cat formats, and the rookie is worth holding onto in deep leagues as long as he remains in the starting lineup. Markkanen had an opportunity to give the Jazz the lead on the team’s penultimate possession, but his turnaround jumper was short. After going on a run of four consecutive games with at least 31 points, the Jazz forward was held in check in Utah’s final two games of Week 5. In losses to the Thunder and Lakers, he scored 39 points on 12-of-27 shooting. Given how well he’s played overall, there’s no need for concern. Markkanen will look to begin another 30-point streak on Monday when the Jazz face the Warriors.

After matching his season-low with 10 field-goal attempts in Friday’s loss to the Thunder, George took 23 shots on Sunday. He’s scored 27 points or more in three of his last four, continuing to exceed expectations based upon his Yahoo! ADP of 115. George is close to a top-50 player in nine-cat formats, a surprising rise for a player who ended last season as the backup point guard. While Isaiah Collier (10/1/3/1) remains a factor in the rotation, George has done enough to lock down the starting job. The Jazz play three games in Week 6, starting with the Warriors on Monday.

Filipowsk was back in the Jazz lineup after missing a game with a sprained right wrist. The injury didn’t appear to cause him any trouble, as evidenced by the production. While Taylor Hendricks (1/3/2/1) also returned to action on Friday, Filipowski offers a higher ceiling in the short term and for the rest of the season. While he hasn’t offered much in the way of defensive production, George has been much improved on the offensive end of the floor. Markkanen got off to a scorching-hot start to this game, scoring 25 points in just the first half. He was still effective after the break as well, but it wasn’t enough for the Jazz to get the win. It has been an excellent year for Markkanen, which has been great to see after a disappointing 2024-25 campaign. After a dramatic dip in scoring and shooting percentage, Markkanen is back to playing at an All-Star level. This 40-point performance was the second time he has eclipsed that threshold this season, with the first coming in his season-best 51-point night in October. Utah is likely heading back to the lottery, but Markkanen’s early success is a good thing for the future of the Jazz. Whether he’s used as a trade piece to bring back more draft capital or to help them turn into a competitive team next season, Markkanen playing well and increasing his trade value will help the Jazz long term.
