While Williams did not shoot the ball well on Saturday, fantasy managers will be pleased with the rebounds, assists and steals. His four pilfers were a season-high; Williams entered Saturday with seven steals across six appearances. J-Dub is providing third-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats, not far removed from his Yahoo! ADP (26). Unfortunately, the Thunder play just twice in Week 9, a Thursday/Friday back-to-back against the Clippers and Timberwolves.

Victor Wembanyama wasn’t the only post player making their return to action on Saturday. Hartenstein was back in the Thunder lineup after missing six games with a strained right calf, and his minutes were restricted. The 7-footer played 20 minutes and was productive, recording a complete stat line. Hartenstein doesn’t need a high usage to provide reliable fantasy value, but he is more “high floor” than “high ceiling.” Cason Wallace moved to the bench on Saturday, finishing with seven points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals and one three-pointer in 27 minutes.

Holmgren didn’t have the best night shooting the basketball, but the foul line helped boost the final point total. Having to deal with Victor Wembanyama for portions of Saturday’s game didn’t help, but there’s no need for fantasy managers to have any concern about Holmgren. He’s still providing excellent value in eight- and nine-cat formats, proving to be slightly more valuable in the latter. The Thunder play twice in Week 9, starting with the Clippers on Thursday.

While the Spurs made life difficult for Gilgeous-Alexander in some ways, he still extended his streak of games with at least 20 points to 97. The reigning MVP shot 1-of-7 from beyond the arc, and he committed a season-high five turnovers. Entering Saturday, SGA had just two games this season with at least four turnovers. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, the Thunder don’t have a good Week 9 schedule. They play twice, with a back-to-back on Thursday/Friday against the Clippers and Timberwolves.

With Memphis playing Friday’s game without its best rebounder, Zach Edey, this was an excellent opportunity for Nurkić to put up a high number in the rebounds category. His 17 boards matched the veteran center’s season-high, and he finished with his sixth double-double. While Nurkić’s fantasy value is ranked outside the top-200 over the last two weeks, he’s a helpful option for managers needing rebounds. Add in the seven assists, and Friday’s was a good night to have Nurk on your roster.

Back in the lineup after sitting out Sunday’s blowout loss to the Thunder, Markkanen helped Utah end its five-game losing streak to the Grizzlies. After a slow start to the season in the rebound category, Markkanen has grabbed at least eight boards in five straight games. Averaging 8.4 rebounds per game, he has been a top-50 player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. Utah is finished with its Week 8 slate and opens a three-game Week 9 on Monday against the Mavericks.

In his last three games entering Friday, Love totaled 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field. Simply put, no one outside of the Jazz locker room expected the veteran forward to be as productive as he was in Memphis. Love recorded a season-high point total and matched his previous high in three-pointers. As fun as it was to watch him put on an offensive clinic while also grabbing eight rebounds, one game does not make Love a player worth rostering in most fantasy leagues. Especially with the Jazz off until Monday.

George was rolling during the first half of Friday’s game, scoring 27 points. While a combination of improved defending from the Grizzlies and foul trouble conspired to keep the guard scoreless in the third quarter, he would finish with a career-high 39 points. Add in the assists, percentages and low turnover count (three), and this was an excellent night for George. The significant improvement that he’s made has lowered Isaiah Collier’s fantasy value, but the second-year guard did dish out eight assists in 24 minutes off the bench.

Holmgren had his second game this season with at least four three-pointers, after making six three-pointers against the Hawks on October 25. The 23-year-old center has recorded at least eight rebounds in eight consecutive games as well. Holmgren also had at least 24 points in 25 minutes or less for the second consecutive game. Hitting double figures in points for the third time this season, Hendricks recorded his first career 20-point game on Sunday. With Lauri Markkanen (illness) being out, there were more opportunities available to the third-year forward despite his coming off the bench. Filipowski, who has hit double figures in five straight games, achieved two firsts on Sunday. In addition to recording his first 20-point game, the second-year center finished with his first double-double of the season. With Lauri Markkanen and Jusuf Nurkić each missing a game, Filipowski has provided third-round fantasy value over the past week. A double-digit scorer in three straight games, Clayton finished Sunday’s defeat with career-highs in points and assists. With Keyonte George (8/5/3/0/1) struggling and Isaiah Collier (one assist) only playing six minutes, it was Clayton’s show for most of the second half. The rookie guard had an encouraging effort, but it’s unlikely to mean much regarding his fantasy value in the short term. Williams isn’t always in a position to provide tangible fantasy value. However, the combination of blowout victories and some key injuries has freed up additional minutes for “Kenny Hustle.” He’s played at least 17 minutes in three straight games, with Sunday’s performance being the most productive. How much he plays moving forward depends partially on the availability of Isaiah Hartenstein, who has missed the last five games with a strained calf. There’s no need to add Williams ahead of what may be a two-game week for the Thunder, but he’s worth keeping an eye on in deeper leagues.

Sunday’s performance was the best for Wiggins since returning from an adductor strain that sidelined him for 11 games. And this was the third outing in which he made at least five three-pointers. Shooting 60 percent from the field, Wiggins has provided top-100 fantasy value over the past week, receiving a boost due to the absences of Luguentz Dort and Alex Caruso. In his fifth appearance of the season, Williams recorded a season-high point total on Sunday. Holmgren made the most of his 23 minutes on Friday, tying a team-high in rebounds and finishing as one of OKC’s top-three scorers on the evening. Williams was steady in his fourth game of the season. He logged only 24 minutes, which was his lowest of the season, likely as a result of the large margin the Thunder led by before cruising to their 22nd win. In his minutes, Williams tied a team-high in rebounds and made contributions as a facilitator, all while finishing as one of OKC’s top scorers. With Jusuf Nurkić (rib) unavailable, Filipowski made his first start since Halloween and sixth of the season on Thursday. All that was missing from the second-year center’s stat line was a blocked shot, but many fantasy managers will take what Filipowski did bring to the table. Rostered in 18 percent of Yahoo! leagues, his fantasy value in the short term hinges upon Nurkić’s availability. While his name may not be mentioned very often in early Most Improved Player conversations, there’s no denying that George has made impressive strides after two uneven seasons in Utah. George is providing third-round value in eight-cat formats, well ahead of his Yahoo! ADP (116). While Williams said after Tuesday’s victory that he still hasn’t reached the point where he’s entirely comfortable on the floor, the Thunder forward’s production has improved from game to game. His scoring output has increased every time out, with J-Dub recording his first 20-point stat line in his third game back from offseason wrist surgery. And while he missed all four of his three-point attempts, the percentages from the field and the foul line were encouraging. Oklahoma City’s win streak hit 13 games on Tuesday, and Holmgren has seven 20-point games during the run. On Tuesday, he shot 66.7 percent from the field and was a steal shy of a complete stat line. Over the past month, he has provided sixth-round value in nine-cat formats. That doesn’t align with Holmgren’s Yahoo! ADP (26), but it’s not like he’s been a disappointment in fantasy basketball. That was a new season high for minutes, so while he was semi-productive during his time on the floor, he won’t see this many minutes often.
