The veteran center will be in street clothes for Friday’s matchup, marking his 16th missed game of the season. Nurkić is enjoying a nice bounce-back season, posting averages of 10.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists over his 41 appearances. Without him in the lineup, Utah will rely on Kyle Filipowski and Oscar Tshiebwe for frontcourt minutes.

Due to thumb and knee injuries, Thybulle has not been available for a game since October 29. However, the veteran wing could be available for Friday’s game against the Nuggets after fully participating in Thursday’s practice. Due to a lumbar sprain, Murray has not appeared in a game since January 5. In a statement released by the NBA less than an hour before the Jazz tipped off against the Trail Blazers on Thursday, commissioner Adam Silver said, “Overt behavior like this that prioritizes draft position over winning undermines the foundation of NBA competition and we will respond accordingly to any further actions that compromise the integrity of our games.” The Jazz were held accountable for holding out starters, notably Jaren Jackson Jr. and Lauri Markkanen, in the fourth quarter of the February 7 game against the Magic and February 9 game against the Heat. It’s been an active week for Silver, who also levied multiple suspensions against players stemming from a benches-clearing incident with the Hornets and Pistons. Only time will tell if the Jazz receive this message or decide to get more creative in their pursuit of better lottery odds.

Fantasy managers should have already planned for him to miss fourth quarters, but now he’ll be totally unavailable. Markkanen has not exceeded 27 minutes since a February 1 loss to the Raptors, when he played 39, and he was on the floor for 21 minutes on Wednesday. Of course, his playing time on Wednesday was influenced by the game being a blowout, but the recent decrease in playing time lowers Markkanen’s fantasy ceiling. Twenty-five minutes of Markkanen is better than 30-plus minutes of many other forwards in fantasy basketball, but Utah’s focus on the draft lottery has done managers no favors.

One way to ensure that your team isn’t the focus of any tanking complaints is to blow the doors off your opponent as soon as possible. That’s what Jackson and the Jazz did on Wednesday, outscoring Sacramento 39-20 in the first quarter. He recorded a complete stat line in 22 minutes of play, and this feels like a case in which fantasy managers will be lucky to get 28-30 minutes out of Trip again this season. Despite the outcome of Wednesday’s game and the five turnovers, this was an encouraging performance for Henderson. The third-year guard shot the ball well from the field and the foul line, including a 3-of-5 night from beyond the arc. Scoot’s minutes are still being limited, as he played 19 on Wednesday, but that will likely change after the All-Star break. Krejčí is most valuable to category league managers needing points and three-pointers, and he came through on Wednesday. On a night when the Timberwolves were able to frustrate Deni Avdija (11/5/3/1) and limit him to 3-of-14 shooting, Holiday did what he could to pick up the slack. Holiday certainly enjoyed seeing Memphis the last two days. In two Trail Blazers victories, he totaled 41 points on 14-of-25 shooting. While Holiday didn’t record any defensive stats on Saturday, the offensive output helps to compensate for that. He has been a top-50 player over the past week, but the playing time continues to hover in that 25-29 minute range.
