Williams and Wilson are back, with the former likely returning to the starting lineup. If so, Maxwell Lewis is most likely headed to the bench. Williams is worth rostering in deep leagues, especially with Cameron Johnson unavailable. As for Wilson, there may be too many players in the mix for rotation minutes for him to be impactful in fantasy leagues.

While Vukcevic has not missed a game due to his injury, Holmes was held out of Thursday’s loss to the Magic. The only other update that head coach Jordi Fernandez provided was that they haven’t made a decision on D’Angelo Russell’s status for their matchup with Toronto, though he is still dealing with soreness in his ankle. Depending on that statuses of Jalen Wilson and Ziaire Williams, Trendon Watford and Maxwell Lewis could be in line for another starting nod.

Claxton got last Saturday off for rest before returning Monday against the Mavericks, though he had just six points in 27 minutes. The 25-year-old center had a much better effort against the Timberwolves Thursday as he scored 18 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field. Claxton started and played 24 minutes, though Drew Timme came off the bench and also played 24 minutes. Claxton should continue to start when available, but it appears he’s ceding some minutes to Timme.

Russell missed last Saturday’s game with an ankle injury but had a nice game in his return against the Mavericks on Monday with 18 points, five rebounds and 11 assists. The 29-year-old point guard had a terrible game against the Timberwolves Thursday. Seemingly out of nowhere, Russell was held without points as he missed all six of his field goal attempts. He played just 13 minutes, which had to do with his effectiveness and not his ankle injury. Russell will look to bounce back Sunday against the Raptors.

Johnson has now started four games in a row for the Wizards. The 20-year-old shooting guard played 29 minutes with Jordan Poole and Khris Middleton sidelined Thursday. The opportunity is there for Johnson right now, even though he fell mostly flat with an 11-point game against the Magic.

Carrington went off for a career-high 32 points against the Magic Thursday. The 19-year-old rookie had only one previous game with at least 20 points, which came when he scored 23 points on February 8 against the Hawks. Smart did not play in Wednesday’s win over the Kings, as the Wizards relied mainly on Jordan Poole, Bub Carrington and AJ Johnson on the perimeter. Poole is unavailable for Thursday’s game, so rotation minutes will be available to Smart. Thursday’s game is the second in as many nights for the Wizards, so Poole will not play. While his fantasy ceiling is limited due to backing up Alexandre Sarr, Vukcevic has put together some solid performances over the past two weeks. He’s reached double figures in seven of his last 10 games, providing 12th-round value in eight-cat formats. Sarr (15/4/1/1/1 with three three-pointers in 26 minutes) will remain the priority since he was Washington’s lottery pick, but Vukcevic is worth a look in deep leagues, especially as more teams shut down key players as the regular season concludes.

Johnson has started Washington’s last three games, logging at least 37 minutes in each appearance. And if Khris Middleton and Marcus Smart remain out, there’s no reason to believe the rookie’s playing time will decrease. As one would expect from a rookie, Johnson’s production has been inconsistent, but he’s scored 19 points or more in two of his last three appearances. He’s only shot 38.6 percent from the field over the past week, so fantasy managers have mostly stayed away. However, Thursday’s game against the Magic could be a good one to gamble on Johnson, as that is one of the lighter game days of Week 22.

After struggling in 38 minutes on the floor in Monday’s blowout loss to the Heat, Carrington was better against the Kings. Shooting just under 50 percent from the field, the rookie’s 19 points were the most in a game for him since February 8. Over the past two weeks, Carrington has been ranked just outside the top 150 in eight-cat formats, as shooting 36.7 percent from the field has not done him any favors. For managers who can afford to take a hit in that category, Carrington playing starters’ minutes improves his chances of having another night like Wednesday before the season ends.

With the Wizards prioritizing their younger players, and rightfully so, Poole has only surpassed 25 minutes four times in his last 10 appearances. For fantasy managers, that makes it paramount that he takes advantage of the opportunities he does get, which was the case against the Kings. Poole was efficient in scoring his 24 points, shooting over 50 percent from the field, and not committing a turnover. Over the past two weeks, he has offered fourth-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Washington hosts Orlando on Thursday before closing out its Week 22 slate on Sunday in Boston.

Johnson has been playing a significant role since December, but Monday’s performance was one of his best in a while. This was his highest-scoring night since he had 25 points on February 5, and it was only his third game with at least 20 points in March. The 23-year-old has shown some flashes of upside throughout the season, and he should continue to play a significant role for the rest of this season. After scoring 20 points as a starter on Saturday, Martin was pushed to the bench for Monday’s game. However, that didn’t stop Martin from contributing in the box score. Outside of Jordan Poole, who scored a game-high 35 points, Vukcevic was the only Wizard to score in double figures on Monday. That is something he has done in seven of his last 10 appearances, though his inconsistent role has made him a difficult player to trust. Vukcevic is only 22 years old and has shown plenty of flashes over the past two seasons that should encourage dynasty managers that have him stashed. Simply put, Poole had no help in Monday’s game. The rest of the starting unit combined to score 29 points in the blowout loss. Poole got off to a quick start and score Washington’s first nine points of the game, but the score got out of hand quickly. The good news is that Poole was able to play 29 minutes after playing less than 25 minutes in four consecutive games. That isn’t something managers should expect to continue, since Washington hasn’t been shy about limiting his minutes to give their young players more minutes.

Yikes. March has been an excellent month for the rookie, but Sarr really struggled in his final game of the month. Field goal percentage hasn’t been a strong category for Sarr, but this performance was one of his worst and can only be rivaled by his 1-of-12 night in January. The rookie has shown plenty of upside in multiple categories, and he was still able to provide some defensive stats in this game. Still, the 19-year-old still has plenty of work to do before he becomes a fantasy star.
