Claxton and Dëmin were initially probable for Sunday’s game, so the upgrades in status were expected. They will occupy their usual places in the Nets starting lineup. While Claxton is worth rostering in 12-team formats, Dëmin is a solid option in deeper formats.

George had a chance to put Washington ahead in the final seconds but uncorked an errant pass that went out of bounds, sending the Wizards to their 14th straight defeat. The 21-year-old forward has been one of the club’s few standouts this season, delivering seventh-round value for fantasy purposes, averaging 16.5 points through 15 games. The Wizards will attempt to turn things around when they open a two-game week with a showdown against the Hawks on Tuesday night.

Whitmore didn’t play a ton in this one, but he still managed to make a sizeable impact, shooting 70 percent from the floor and grabbing seven rebounds to reach the 20-point mark for just the second time this season. The 21-year-old former first-round pick’s upside is limited by his reduced role in Washington at the moment.

Due to a sore left hip flexor, Johnson will miss a game for the first time in his young NBA career. While the rookie’s absence does not affect fantasy basketball, it leaves the Wizards short of a bench option. Cam Whitmore and Corey Kispert are the reserves most likely to absorb the minutes that would have gone to Johnson.

Dëmin, who has started Brooklyn’s last seven games, is dealing with a sore neck and jawline. However, the probable tag suggests that the rookie will ultimately be cleared to play. If Dëmin can’t play, Terance Mann will take on more of the playmaking responsibilities. Even with an expanded role, Mann hasn’t been the most dependable fantasy option this season.

Here’s an oversimplification: Porter was able to get whatever shot he wanted from anywhere on the floor against an undersized Celtics squad. He eclipsed 20 points for the eighth straight game and posted his fifth 30-point outing of the season, drilling four of six from deep and shooting nearly 62 percent overall as Boston had no answers for his blend of size, speed and athleticism. The 27-year-old scoring machine has delivered third-round fantasy production so far, averaging 24.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 0.8 steals through 14 games.

Claxton took full advantage of Boston’s lackluster frontcourt as he seemed to be able to get to the rim whenever he wanted against relatively inexperienced big men Neemias Queta and Luka Garza. The double-digit assists were the real surprise here as it was the first time he was in double figures in that department since last March. He’s averaging 14.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.3 blocks through 15 games this season.

It doesn’t totally show up on the stat sheet, but Clowney was a real X-factor in this contest as he relentlessly attacked the rim early on, finishing the first half with 14 points while also blocking three shots on the defensive end of the floor. He cooled off a bit in the second half but led the Nets in minutes over the final two quarters. He would’ve had an even bigger night offensively had he not gone ice-cold from three-point range, hitting just three of 11 attempts from distance.

With Alex Sarr and Marvin Bagley out due to injury, Vukčević made his first start of the season on Friday. However, despite the opportunity, there was no reason for fantasy managers to consider streaming the third-year forward/center. Vukčević played only 17 minutes, as Washington went small for extended stretches. His place within the rotation for Saturday’s game against the Wizards depends on the availability of Sarr and Bagley.

On a night when Keyonte George (5/3/4/0/2 with one three-pointer) struggled, shooting 2-of-7 from the field, Johnson had a solid outing off the bench. The rookie guard hit double figures for the fourth time in his last five games, with the 14 being the most he’s scored since November 7 (season-high 19 vs. Cleveland). Johnson isn’t at the point where he can be of much value to fantasy managers currently. Still, rookies on rebuilding teams tend to be useful during the “silly season.”

McCollum was the only Wizards player to score 15 or more points on Friday, but this season has been a struggle regarding his fantasy value. Shooting 40.5 percent from the field, which would be the lowest percentage of his career, the veteran guard is ranked outside the top-150 in eight- and nine-cat formats. With the Wizards rebuilding, McCollum’s ceiling is lower, and managers also have to factor in the possibility that his minutes decrease later in the season.

Not only will the Wizards be without Alex Sarr for Friday’s game, but Marvin Bagley is also out due to injury. No surprise here as Bagley was originally listed as doubtful with a hip injury. The 26-year-old power forward will join Alex Sarr (toe) on the sidelines for Friday’s game against the Raptors. Tristan Vukčević is set to pick up significant minutes in this one and is worth streaming.

After totaling seven points on 2-of-11 shooting in his prior two appearances, Coulibaly needed a night like Wednesday. He only missed one shot from the field, and the final stat line was only lacking in the steals category. Coulibaly’s inconsistent offense is what holds him back in fantasy, as he’s only shooting 42 percent from the field. However, he’s shot 58.3 percent from the field over the past two weeks, which is why he’s been a third-round player during this stretch.

With Alex Sarr (toe) out, Bagley made his first start of the season on Wednesday. He had a good night, shooting over 50 percent from the field and recording a near-complete stat line. Bagley is only rostered in one percent of Yahoo! leagues, so there weren’t many managers willing to roll the dice. However, he’ll be worth a look in deep leagues if Sarr misses more time. George continues to flourish, most recently doing so on a night when the Wizards were without Alex Sarr. The second-year wing has scored at least 20 points on five occasions this season, including each of his last two appearances. Sharpe hit double figures for the third time this season on Tuesday, and he’s produced respectable scoring and rebounding averages over the last two weeks. During this stretch, he’s averaged 7.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists, but the defensive stats have been lacking on most nights. And with Nic Claxton (7/11/3/0/1) ahead of him in the pecking order, Sharpe’s fantasy ceiling is extremely limited. He’s only worth rostering on nights when Clax is unavailable.

After shooting 27.3 percent from three in his lone season at BYU, Dëmin was not expected by many to be as productive a perimeter shooter as he’s been. The rookie shot 4-of-7 from deep on Tuesday and is averaging 1.8 three-pointers per game at a respectable 36 percent clip. Dëmin is shooting 37.6 percent from the field overall, and that needs to change if he’s to become a player who should be rostered in more than six percent of Yahoo! leagues as he currently is.

Since missing the Nets’ November 3 loss to the Timberwolves, Porter has scored at least 21 points in seven straight games. During this stretch, the Nets forward has averaged 27.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.4 three-pointers in 33.2 minutes, shooting 48.4 percent from the field and 89.6 percent from the foul line. That’s the production many fantasy managers hoped Porter would provide in his new home, posting gaudy numbers for a rebuilding team. The lone concern for the rest of the season is a potential shutdown as the front office prioritizes maximizing its draft lottery odds.

MPJ provided his usual supply of buckets, but his playmaking was what was intriguing. His previous career-high for assists was six, but he matched that mark in the first quarter and surpassed it by halftime. He didn’t add any more dimes after the break, but he was still able to have an excellent night despite the loss. Clowney has been an effective scoring option as a starter for the Nets, and that trend continued in this game. He has started the last six games for Brooklyn and has scored in double figures in five of those. And while the shot attempts have increased, MPJ has shot 47 percent or better in each of those outings. Whether he can continue to shoot at the clip or not, Porter is in a spot where he can put up massive individual numbers.
