Middleton is dealing with a left elbow contusion, hence his presence on the Wizards’ injury report for Monday. If the veteran forward cannot play, Bub Carrington may return to the starting lineup. However, the second-year guard has provided limited fantasy value thus far and is not a must-stream player in this scenario.

In addition to Brandon Miller, the Hornets will be without LaMelo Ball (ankle) for Sunday’s game. James, a solid defender who has provided limited offensive value, will replace him in the lineup. Tre Mann’s playing time should increase, but coming off the bench limits his streaming ceiling.

A late addition to the Hornets’ injury report for personal reasons, Kalkbrenner is good to go. He’ll take on his usual role as the starting center, where he’s provided top-75 value in nine-cat formats. Moussa Diabaté misses out on a significant boost to his fantasy value, but his minutes may increase anyway due to Utah’s frontcourt size.

Ball was initially doubtful for Sunday’s game. His absence leaves a significant hole in the Hornets’ starting lineup, especially with Brandon Miller (shoulder) also out. Tre Mann is the most likely replacement in the starting lineup, while Sion James should pick up additional minutes off the bench. Mann is worth streaming in deeper leagues.

Sarr had a relatively quiet night on the offensive end of the floor, but the rebounds and blocks were useful. Through six games, the second-year center is shooting 53.4 percent from the field, a significant improvement on his 39.4 mark as a rookie. Sarr’s three-point attempts have decreased, and he’s been more accurate with the ones he’s taken. He’s shooting 42.9 percent on 2.8 attempts per game after making 30.8 percent of his 5.1 attempts per game as a rookie. Can Sarr maintain top-50 value for the entire season? We’ll see. But there’s no denying that he’s headed in the right direction. The Wizards play four games during Week 3, starting with the Knicks on Monday.

George, who’s rostered in 58 percent of Yahoo! leagues, continues to exceed expectations regarding fantasy value. He’s ranked within the top-50 in nine-cat formats, and the second-year wing still hasn’t hit his ceiling. George is shooting 62.5 percent from the foul line and averaging 3.3 turnovers per game, negatively impacting his nine-cat value. However, even for those who may be skeptical about George’s ability to sustain this production over 82 games, he’ll continue to figure prominently in the Wizards’ rotation. Hop onto the bandwagon before it’s too late.

Bridges was one of the few bright spots for Charlotte in an eventual one-sided contest as he knocked down eight of his first 11 shots, including five three-pointers to close the first half with a game-high 21 points. He was relatively quiet in the second half as Minnesota pulled away by outscoring Charlotte 36-18 in the third quarter. It’s certainly encouraging to see him shoot well in this one against one of the better defensive teams in the league.

Ball is dealing with a right ankle impingement, but trending in the right direction as of Saturday afternoon. With the 24-year-old being upgraded to a probable injury designation, it’s likely he ends up playing against the Timberwolves. Ball has been diagnosed with a right ankle impingement, which is concerning, given his history of ankle injuries. Most recently, he underwent surgery on the same ankle in early April. McCollum shot the ball well on Thursday, making five of his eight three-point attempts. Unfortunately, he did not provide much value outside the points and three-pointers. More important than that was McCollum getting untracked shooting-wise, as he’s making just 36.4 percent of his attempts from the field. That’s why he’s ranked outside the top-150 in nine-cat formats.

Two nights removed from putting up 23 shots in an overtime loss to the 76ers, Sarr only took 11 shots against the Thunder. While there was some foul trouble for the second-year center to navigate, the Wizards need to make a more concerted effort to get him the ball than they did on Thursday. Especially with Bilal Coulibaly returning from an offseason thumb injury on Thursday. Washington ends its week with a home game against the Magic on Saturday.

Coulibaly made his season debut on Thursday, and the time off impacted his playing time. The third-year wing only played 24 minutes against the Thunder, but he was productive when on the floor. Coulibaly’s return meant Bub Carrington came off the bench, and he finished with three points, four rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes. Sexton came off the bench Thursday night, with rookie Sion James receiving a promotion. The lineup change did not negatively impact Sexton’s output, as he shot the ball well from the field and recorded a solid stat line. Rostered in 35 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he’ll have value for as long as the Hornets are without Brandon Miller (shoulder). As for James, he finished his first start with eight points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one three-pointer in 28 minutes. A late-round pick for many fantasy managers, Kalkbrenner has exceeded expectations thus far by clearly understanding where he’s most valuable. The rookie center shot 8-of-9 from the field on Thursday and is now 27-of-30 for the season. Add in the rebounds and defensive stats, and it isn’t hard to figure out why Kalkbrenner has been close to a top-50 player. As a rookie, he’ll be difficult to “sell high” because of the limited sample size. But that’s alright, as it may be better to hold onto Kalkbrenner for the long haul.

This was a disappointing performance from Bridges outside of the rebounds and three-pointers. He did not record any assists, steals or blocked shots, much to the chagrin of fantasy managers who have him rostered. More concerning is the continued poor shooting, with Bridges making just 39.5 percent of his attempts through five games. He remains a top-100 player, but Bridges would be far more valuable with a better field-goal percentage.

Ball provided solid production in the rebound, assist and steal categories while limiting the turnovers, but he struggled with his shot. The Hornets guard shot 1-of-9 from beyond the arc, but he did enter Thursday shooting a career-best 39.5 percent through four games. Offense has not been an issue for Knueppel thus far, with the rookie averaging 16.0 points per game. However, he isn’t a defender who’s going to provide consistent numbers on that end of the floor (two steals and no blocks in four games), and he’s shooting just 50 percent from the foul line. Kalkbrenner has gotten off to a solid start in his rookie season, especially for those who drafted him for defensive reasons. The rookie has accrued four steals and four blocked shots while shooting a staggering 90.5 percent from the field through four games. While Kalkbrenner, who made all five of his shots on Tuesday, is unlikely to maintain that percentage over the long haul, expecting consistent defensive production is realistic. The playing time was just as encouraging on Tuesday, with Kalkbrenner logging a season-high 31 minutes. Sexton has scored at least 18 points in three straight games, fitting in nicely alongside LaMelo Ball, even if the Hornets’ defense has suffered. He shot the ball well against the Heat, but Sexton committed four turnovers and did not provide any defensive statistics. Even before Brandon Miller’s shoulder injury, he was a starter, but the third-year wing’s absence frees up additional scoring opportunities for Sexton. While all five Hornets starters scored in double figures, the team’s porous defense was too much to overcome. In the case of Ball, his efficiency was lacking in Miami. In addition to the poor shooting, he was responsible for five of Charlotte’s 17 turnovers. Serving as Alex Sarr’s backup is not a good place for any post player in terms of fantasy value. However, Bagley played well against the 76ers, providing everything but a three-pointer in the overtime defeat. Averaging 4.3 assists per game entering Tuesday, McCollum notched a season-high in that category against the 76ers. In 56 games for the Pelicans last season, the veteran guard recorded at least seven assists on eight occasions. Bub Carrington (10/5/5/1/1 with two three-pointers) runs the show, but McCollum has the ball in his hands plenty. Sarr was rolling to start Tuesday’s game, finishing the first half with 20 points and seven rebounds. While the second-year pivot finished with his first career 30-point double-double, the production tailed off after halftime. That’s the next step for Sarr: being consistently dominant. He held his own against the 76ers’ post players, including Joel Embiid. While the Wizards won’t be pleased with letting a double-digit lead slip away, they have to be encouraged by what Sarr did.
