Smart did not play in Wednesday’s win over the Kings, as the Wizards relied mainly on Jordan Poole, Bub Carrington and AJ Johnson on the perimeter. Poole is unavailable for Thursday’s game, so rotation minutes will be available to Smart. However, fantasy managers should not expect to see him playing starters’ minutes; he has not surpassed 24 minutes in any of his appearances since being acquired from the Grizzlies in February.

Holmes injured his shoulder during the first half of Wednesday’s win over the Kings, with the Wizards ruling him out during the third quarter. His absence freed up additional playing time for Gill, who logged 31 minutes off the bench. Jones is back after sitting out Wednesday’s win over the Kings. With Jordan Poole, Khris Middleton and Kyshawn George all out of the Wizards’ lineup, the second-year guard should be in the rotation on Thursday. Thursday’s game is the second in as many nights for the Wizards, so Poole will not play. His absence means even more time on the ball for Bub Carrington and AJ Johnson, which raises the fantasy ceilings of both rookies. And on a six-game night, fantasy managers should not hesitate to stream either, although Carrington should be the priority add.

While his fantasy ceiling is limited due to backing up Alexandre Sarr, Vukcevic has put together some solid performances over the past two weeks. He’s reached double figures in seven of his last 10 games, providing 12th-round value in eight-cat formats. Sarr (15/4/1/1/1 with three three-pointers in 26 minutes) will remain the priority since he was Washington’s lottery pick, but Vukcevic is worth a look in deep leagues, especially as more teams shut down key players as the regular season concludes.

Johnson has started Washington’s last three games, logging at least 37 minutes in each appearance. And if Khris Middleton and Marcus Smart remain out, there’s no reason to believe the rookie’s playing time will decrease. As one would expect from a rookie, Johnson’s production has been inconsistent, but he’s scored 19 points or more in two of his last three appearances. He’s only shot 38.6 percent from the field over the past week, so fantasy managers have mostly stayed away. However, Thursday’s game against the Magic could be a good one to gamble on Johnson, as that is one of the lighter game days of Week 22.

After struggling in 38 minutes on the floor in Monday’s blowout loss to the Heat, Carrington was better against the Kings. Shooting just under 50 percent from the field, the rookie’s 19 points were the most in a game for him since February 8. Over the past two weeks, Carrington has been ranked just outside the top 150 in eight-cat formats, as shooting 36.7 percent from the field has not done him any favors. For managers who can afford to take a hit in that category, Carrington playing starters’ minutes improves his chances of having another night like Wednesday before the season ends.

With the Wizards prioritizing their younger players, and rightfully so, Poole has only surpassed 25 minutes four times in his last 10 appearances. For fantasy managers, that makes it paramount that he takes advantage of the opportunities he does get, which was the case against the Kings. Poole was efficient in scoring his 24 points, shooting over 50 percent from the field, and not committing a turnover. Over the past two weeks, he has offered fourth-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Washington hosts Orlando on Thursday before closing out its Week 22 slate on Sunday in Boston.

Nesmith led Indiana in scoring to help them get back on track after they lost to the Thunder on Saturday. Six of his 24 points came in the final 20 seconds as he went 6-of-6 at the free throw line to seal the victory for Indiana. Nesmith has been a solid contributor as a starter for the Pacers, especially as of late. Outside of Jordan Poole, who scored a game-high 35 points, Vukcevic was the only Wizard to score in double figures on Monday. That is something he has done in seven of his last 10 appearances, though his inconsistent role has made him a difficult player to trust. Vukcevic is only 22 years old and has shown plenty of flashes over the past two seasons that should encourage dynasty managers that have him stashed. Washington has three more games this week, including a back-to-back on Wednesday and Thursday.

Toppin’s strong stretch continued on Monday, and this was his sixth-straight game scoring in double figures, which is his longest streak since he scored at least 10 points in nine consecutive games in December. Toppin has provided top-100 value in nine-cat leagues over the past week in just 19.8 minutes per game, which is an incredibly small sample size. Still, it shows just how effective he has been. It is quite the hot streak, but small volume success is hard to maintain, which makes it difficult to consider rostering Toppin in standard leagues.

Simply put, Poole had no help in Monday’s game. The rest of the starting unit combined to score 29 points in the blowout loss. Poole got off to a quick start and score Washington’s first nine points of the game, but the score got out of hand quickly. The good news is that Poole was able to play 29 minutes after playing less than 25 minutes in four consecutive games. With Myles Turner sidelined with an illness, Bryant made a return to the starting unit. While he has generally been productive as a starter this season, this was one of his quieter performances. The opportunity was too good for managers to pass up, but it was a disappointing night. Yikes. March has been an excellent month for the rookie, but Sarr really struggled in his final game of the month. Field goal percentage hasn’t been a strong category for Sarr, but this performance was one of his worst and can only be rivaled by his 1-of-12 night in January. The rookie has shown plenty of upside in multiple categories, and he was still able to provide some defensive stats in this game. Still, the 19-year-old still has plenty of work to do before he becomes a fantasy star.

Poole played just 25 minutes again Thursday. It was his sixth-straight game with less than 30 minutes and fourth in that span with 25 minutes or less. While the Wizards clearly aren’t pushing Poole for heavy minutes at this point in the season, they at least had good reason for his usage on Thursday as they were party to a massive blowout. Following a three-game absence, Haliburton has been able to play in Indiana’s last two games. He nearly recorded a triple-double in his return on Saturday but had a subpar shooting night. However, he didn’t have those same shooting issues against Minnesota, and he was able to record his 11th-straight double-double. Since the All-Star break, Haliburton’s production is more in line with the fantasy superstar from the last two seasons despite a rough start to the season for his lofty standards. They have a back-to-back coming up, and there is a chance that Haliburton sits out one of those games.
