While Vukcevic was held out of Sunday’s loss to the Celtics, Gill played 22 minutes off the bench. If he can play, the latter’s playing time is impacted by the former’s availability. Vukcevic has deep-league value when available, despite backing up Alexandre Sarr. If Vukcevic or Gill does not play on Tuesday, additional minutes may also be available to JT Thor.

George has been removed from the injury report after missing seven games with a sprained ankle. Sarr’s fantasy value has not been great recently, with the rookie ranking as a 12th-round player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. He’s been even worse in nine-cat, as the 2.8 turnovers per game have been problematic. Sarr committed four turnovers on Sunday, limiting his fantasy value in nine-cat formats. He and the Wizards play four games during Week 23, and the rookie should certainly be rostered in active leagues.

Carrington had a rough night from beyond the arc, making just one of his eight attempts. Those struggles negatively impacted his overall field-goal percentage, but the rookie did record six assists without committing a turnover. While Jordan Poole (15/2/5 with two three-pointers) continues to start, Carrington’s place in the lineup is secure, and he’s playing heavy minutes. For those whose leagues will be active during Week 23, Bub is worth the risk in deeper formats.

Champagnie had a big night on the glass, with the 13 rebounds falling one shy of his season-high. The Wizards wing has recorded five double-doubles this season, and he is ranked just outside the top 100 in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. For fantasy managers whose leagues are active during Week 23, the Wizards play four games, starting with the Pacers on Tuesday. Champagnie is worth a look in deep leagues, as he should remain in the starting five.

While Vukcevic has not missed a game due to his injury, Holmes was held out of Thursday’s loss to the Magic. His absence led to more playing time for fellow reserve Anthony Gill, who has not been productive enough to merit being streamed in most fantasy leagues. Alexandre Sarr plays the lion’s share of the minutes at center, limiting the backups’ fantasy value.

Johnson has now started four games in a row for the Wizards. The 20-year-old shooting guard played 29 minutes with Jordan Poole and Khris Middleton sidelined Thursday. The opportunity is there for Johnson right now, even though he fell mostly flat with an 11-point game against the Magic.

Carrington went off for a career-high 32 points against the Magic Thursday. The 19-year-old rookie had only one previous game with at least 20 points, which came when he scored 23 points on February 8 against the Hawks. Wagner continued to pour in the buckets in his 10th consecutive game with at least 20 points. The 23-year-old small forward, along with teammate Paolo Banchero, have become one of the best scoring duos in the league. Banchero had a monster effort against the Wizards on Thursday with 33 points, 18 rebounds and eight assists, which put him just two assists shy of a triple-double. The 22-year-old power forward bounced back with three made three-pointers, which was something he hadn’t done in his previous six games entering play Thursday. Banchero still turned the ball over four times, giving him at least four turnovers in four of his last five games. While the turnovers have dragged down his value in nine-category leagues, he remains a top-50 option in eight-category leagues over the last two weeks.

Smart did not play in Wednesday’s win over the Kings, as the Wizards relied mainly on Jordan Poole, Bub Carrington and AJ Johnson on the perimeter. With Jordan Poole, Khris Middleton and Kyshawn George all out of the Wizards’ lineup, the second-year guard should be in the rotation on Thursday. Thursday’s game is the second in as many nights for the Wizards, so Poole will not play. While his fantasy ceiling is limited due to backing up Alexandre Sarr, Vukcevic has put together some solid performances over the past two weeks. He’s reached double figures in seven of his last 10 games, providing 12th-round value in eight-cat formats. Sarr (15/4/1/1/1 with three three-pointers in 26 minutes) will remain the priority since he was Washington’s lottery pick, but Vukcevic is worth a look in deep leagues, especially as more teams shut down key players as the regular season concludes.

Johnson has started Washington’s last three games, logging at least 37 minutes in each appearance. And if Khris Middleton and Marcus Smart remain out, there’s no reason to believe the rookie’s playing time will decrease. As one would expect from a rookie, Johnson’s production has been inconsistent, but he’s scored 19 points or more in two of his last three appearances. He’s only shot 38.6 percent from the field over the past week, so fantasy managers have mostly stayed away. However, Thursday’s game against the Magic could be a good one to gamble on Johnson, as that is one of the lighter game days of Week 22.

After struggling in 38 minutes on the floor in Monday’s blowout loss to the Heat, Carrington was better against the Kings. Shooting just under 50 percent from the field, the rookie’s 19 points were the most in a game for him since February 8. Over the past two weeks, Carrington has been ranked just outside the top 150 in eight-cat formats, as shooting 36.7 percent from the field has not done him any favors. For managers who can afford to take a hit in that category, Carrington playing starters’ minutes improves his chances of having another night like Wednesday before the season ends.

With the Wizards prioritizing their younger players, and rightfully so, Poole has only surpassed 25 minutes four times in his last 10 appearances. For fantasy managers, that makes it paramount that he takes advantage of the opportunities he does get, which was the case against the Kings. Poole was efficient in scoring his 24 points, shooting over 50 percent from the field, and not committing a turnover. Over the past two weeks, he has offered fourth-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Washington hosts Orlando on Thursday before closing out its Week 22 slate on Sunday in Boston.

Caldwell-Pope is on a heater from deep, having shot 10-of-12 from beyond the arc in his last two games. Tuesday’s three-point tally of seven was a season-high, surpassing the six he made in a November 27 win over the Bulls. The issue is that Caldwell-Pope does not provide much value outside of points and three-pointers; he’s a liability in fantasy leagues when those shots aren’t falling. Over the past two weeks, KCP has provided 10th-round value in nine-cat formats, four rounds better than his season-long production.

On Tuesday, Wagner and Paolo Banchero became the first duo in Magic history to score 20 points or more in nine straight games. Averaging 23.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game, Franz has provided sixth-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. The issue for fantasy managers has been the lackluster defensive production, with Wagner averaging 0.5 steals and 0.1 blocked shots. Sidelined for nine of Orlando’s last 10 games with a toe injury, Anthony returned to the rotation on Tuesday. He was used in a reserve role, as the team is taking a cautious approach after an aggravation of the initial toe injury sidelined Anthony for seven of those nine games. He filled the stat sheet, but those who have him rostered took a hit in the field goal percentage category. Anthony’s return meant fewer minutes for Cory Joseph (6/2/1 with two three-pointers) and Anthony Black (4/2/3/3), who played 18 and 20 minutes, respectively. The Magic play their final game of Week 22 in Washington on Thursday, so managers who have any of these guards rostered will want to free up that roster spot for the weekend.

Outside of Jordan Poole, who scored a game-high 35 points, Vukcevic was the only Wizard to score in double figures on Monday. That is something he has done in seven of his last 10 appearances, though his inconsistent role has made him a difficult player to trust. Vukcevic is only 22 years old and has shown plenty of flashes over the past two seasons that should encourage dynasty managers that have him stashed. Simply put, Poole had no help in Monday’s game. The rest of the starting unit combined to score 29 points in the blowout loss. Poole got off to a quick start and score Washington’s first nine points of the game, but the score got out of hand quickly. The good news is that Poole was able to play 29 minutes after playing less than 25 minutes in four consecutive games.
