None of the big man’s scoring production came from the three-point line versus Brooklyn, which marks the second consecutive game that he’s gone without a three-pointer. He also wasn’t involved much as a rebounder or passer, and his two stocks weren’t anything fantasy managers should be excited about. Still, his scoring was important to his team’s success tonight. He’ll have an opportunity to put up another solid effort on Friday against the 76ers.

His minimal contributions as a passer and rebounder were also notable on a night in which he tallied 35 minutes in an overtime game. Bane has had his share of ups and downs throughout the season, but remains more than capable of putting up big numbers on the offensive end of the floor. He’ll have a chance to bounce back on Friday against the 76ers to put up strong fantasy production.

Banchero bounced back on Wednesday from a forgettable Tuesday against the Wizards to help the Magic edge out the Nets in overtime. He notched a team-high in points and was one of several Magic players to secure double-digit rebounds. The numbers equated to the former first-overall pick’s second double-double of the month and 11th of the season. Banchero did struggle with his ball security, committing nine turnovers and ultimately costing himself some fantasy basketball production. Still, his lone three-pointer, which beat the buzzer in overtime, more than made up for the miscues. His final line was exceptional, considering he was benched in a 14-point effort on Tuesday.

It seems likely that he’ll get at least one more start on Friday against the Pelicans since the Wizards traded for Trae Young and shipped out McCollum right after the game ended. Young had been dealing with a quad injury, so Carrington should start until he is available to make his debut for the Wizards, giving him limited streaming value.

Rumors had been heating up, and now it’s official. Young will head to Washington after appearing in just 10 games during his eighth season with the Hawks. Young will be reunited with Travis Schlenk, who drafted Trae in 2018 and is now an executive with the Wizards. The Wizards will have the rest of this season and, assuming he opts into his contract for next year, all of next season to decide if they want to keep Young around. It was a low-cost move for Washington, and they added a former All-NBA player that led the NBA in assists last season. If they’re able to add another top pick in the draft this season, the Wizards will have one of the best young cores in the NBA and a star point guard to help facilitate things on offense. Plus, Washington has enough length to make up for Young’s defensive limitations. Trae has been sidelined recently with a quad injury, but that could certainly heal up quickly now that he’s on a new team.

Between injuries and subpar performances, it was a rough start to the season for Coulibaly. However, this recent stretch has been a productive one. He wasn’t able to contribute any defensive stats, which has inflated his recent value, but he was able to have a solid night on offense. He’s known for his defense, but any consistency on offense will help him be even more valuable for fantasy managers, which makes his recent games encouraging.

This was the second 20-point game of his rookie season, with the other also coming during the seven games since he moved back into the starting lineup. Due to their effort, Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley stuck with the reserves for the entire fourth quarter, which likely factored into their running out of steam late. But it was earned. In Richardson’s case, the rookie recorded his first 20-point game. And as the Magic await the returns of Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner, he’ll continue to have opportunities to contribute off the bench.

The five steals were a career-high for the third-year wing, who recorded four in a January 2 win over the Nets. The second-year center, who has been a much-improved player this season, recorded a complete stat line on excellent percentages. Not only does he have the look of a crucial building block for the Wizards, but he is also a player capable of developing into one of the most valuable centers in fantasy basketball.

Yet, with the dagger, he finished as the team’s third-leading scorer on the night and tallied his seventh straight game with at least 14 points and five assists. McCollum should continue to put up solid fantasy numbers so long as he is a Washington Wizard.
