Champagnie has reached double figures in each of his last three appearances. While the playing time, 25 minutes on Sunday, wasn’t the best, he remains in the starting lineup. For that reason, Champagnie is worth the risk for managers seeking players with “silly season standout” potential. The Wizards only play one of their four Week 17 games before the All-Star break, on Wednesday against the Cavaliers, so there won’t be much to be gained from grabbing Champagnie off the waiver wire on Monday.

Sarr struggled with foul trouble in Sunday’s blowout loss, but that didn’t keep him from recording his 12th double-double of the season. The 7-footer still logged 26 minutes against the Heat, an encouraging sign after he played 18 in Thursday’s win over the Pistons. The Wizards will play four games in Week 17, with three scheduled for after the All-Star break.

Coulibaly took a shot to the face from Heat guard Kasparas Jakučionis with 5:36 remaining in the fourth quarter and did not return. The third-year wing finished with seven points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and one three-pointer. Will Riley (nine points, one rebound, one steal, one block and one three-pointer) was limited to 21 minutes, an understandable development since he played 45 on Saturday. If Coulibaly misses time, Riley is the most likely beneficiary.

George sprained his left ankle while playing defense during the third quarter of Sunday’s game. The second-year wing limped to the locker room immediately after being subbed out, and he will not return to the game. George finished with 13 points, two rebounds, three assists, one block and three three-pointers in 19 minutes. Jamir Watkins, who started Saturday’s loss to the Nets, will likely see his playing time increase if George misses additional games.

Two days after NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that Davis was unlikely to play again this season, Dawkins said that he anticipates the forward/center returning at some point. In the short term, Davis will return to Dallas to work with his medical team as he recovers from ligament damage in his left hand. Dawkins also noted that the 4-to-6 week timeline provided in mid-January is closer to 6-to-10 weeks. If Davis were to play this season, the timeline suggests he won’t be available until sometime in March.

Marvin Bagley is now in Dallas, so Vukčević was the next man up with Alex Sarr (ankle) unavailable. Like his teammates, Riley got off to a slow start on Saturday. But the Wizards were able to make Saturday’s defeat more respectable, thanks in part to their rookie wing. After scoring 20 points in a win over the Pistons on Thursday, Riley recorded a new season-high on Saturday and has reached double figures in five straight. For fantasy managers with their eyes on Champagnie as a potential “silly season standout,” Saturday’s performance was a mixed bag. The overall stat line was nice, with one exception: playing time. With the Wizards likely focused on doing all they can to avoid losing their 2026 first-round pick, which is top-8 protected, to the Knicks, Davis not making his debut for the team until next season would be an unsurprising development. The rookie center took advantage of increased minutes on Friday and logged arguably his best game as a professional. He’s notched back-to-back double-digit rebound games and could realistically carve out a consistent role with this team, given where they are in the standings at this point in the season. Monk was consistent as a scorer throughout Friday’s contest, but his biggest moments came in the third and fourth quarters, when his three-point shooting put the Kings on a run and at one point gave them a fourth-quarter lead. All of the veteran combo-guard’s scoring came from deep in this game, as he finished with at least six triples for the third time this season. Monk appears to be firmly back in the nightly rotation following a stretch earlier in the season in which he saw DNP’s. Raynaud moved into the starting lineup on Sunday due to Domantas Sabonis (back) not being available. The rookie center was solid, filling the stat sheet with a modest line. And if DeRozan remains in Sacramento past the deadline, how much will he play, especially with the Kings needing to get Nique Clifford (6/3/4/2) more opportunities and adding De’Andre Hunter to the mix via Saturday’s trade with the Cavaliers and Bulls? However, with the trade deadline on the horizon, it’s worth questioning what LaVine’s future will be.
