Avdija did a little bit of everything in this back-and-forth shootout, recording his second straight double-double in the process. The 24-year-old forward has been a top-10 fantasy performer over the past week, per Basketball Monster, averaging nearly 31 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and one block over his last three games. It’s a small sample, but it underscores how impactful Avdija can be when he’s rolling — especially for a rebuilding Portland squad short on proven offensive options. The Trail Blazers will continue their five-game road trip on Monday night against the Magic before facing the Pelicans, Rockets and Mavericks to close out a four-game week.

One game removed from scoring a season-high 33 points, Avdija finished one assist shy of his first triple-double of the season. He’s been everything that fantasy managers hoped he would be when the season began, closing in on top-50 value in nine-cat formats while being ranked well within that threshold in eight-cat. If there’s been an issue for Avdija, it’s been turnovers, as he’s averaging 3.9 per game. He only recorded three on Wednesday, however.

This was a strong performance for Avdija as he set a new season-high for scoring. He has gotten off to a strong start to the year, which was expected after how well he played late last season. Turnovers have plagued his value in nine-cat leagues, but he has been able to pour in the counting stats. He’ll look to keep it up against the Thunder on Wednesday, though that won’t be an easy matchup.

While Avdija’s final stat line was solid, there were issues. He missed all five of his three-point attempts, but the six turnovers were more concerning, especially for managers in nine-cat leagues. Thus far, Avdija’s averaging 3.8 turnovers per game, which is why he’s only a top-75 player currently. However, punt the turnovers and he’s providing top-50 value. The decision to start Avdija over Jerami Grant (18/3/1/2 with three three-pointers in 25 minutes) has benefited both parties, with the latter surprisingly being a third-round player in nine-cat formats.

Avdija did a little bit of everything in the win over the Lakers. He led all Trail Blazers in threes, points, and blocked shots in his 32 minutes of game action. The athletic forward has become one of Portland’s most consistent and productive players in his second year with the team and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Avdija has now scored at least 20 points in all four of the Blazers’ games thus far and tallied three or more triples in three of those contests.

Avdija was Portland’s leading scorer in Friday’s victory. He dominated both inside and outside the arc in his 29 minutes while also being able to make a difference as a playmaker. His four makes from beyond the arc were especially noteworthy, and a positive sign for fantasy managers after the veteran forward didn’t convert on either of his six three-point attempts in the season opener. Nevertheless, the performance in the win over Golden State was encouraging and marked a second strong performance to begin the season for Avdija.

While no final decision has been made regarding Avdija’s availability for Wednesday’s opener against the Timberwolves, his ability to go through a full-contact practice on Monday is a positive. Upper back stiffness was an issue during various points of Avdija’s preseason, including his having to sit out the second half of Portland’s preseason finale on October 16. Either he or Jerami Grant will be in the starting lineup on Wednesday, with Avdija offering a far higher fantasy ceiling. Even if he comes off the bench to begin the season, Avdija is the superior option for fantasy managers.

Avdija dealt with upper back stiffness during the preseason, and that issue sidelined him for the remainder of Thursday’s preseason finale. With Toumani Camara unavailable, Avdija started and finished with eight points (3-of-9 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, and three assists in 16 minutes. The question for Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups ahead of Portland’s October 22 opener is who starts between Avdija, Camara and Jerami Grant? Camara offers the most defensively, while Avdija is the most versatile offensive weapon. Grant offers more experience but a limited fantasy profile.

After coming off the bench in Wednesday’s preseason opener, Avdija was in the starting lineup on Friday. His inclusion meant Jerami Grant was pushed to the bench, with the veteran forward contributing 18 points (6-of-13 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), four rebounds and one assist. While Grant did not sound like he expected to come off the bench at all when asked about the possibility at the beginning of training camp, there’s clearly a competition for that place in the starting lineup. Fantasy managers are likely rooting for Avdija to win the job, as he offers a far higher fantasy ceiling.

With a healthy Jerami Grant back in the fold, the question ahead of Wednesday’s preseason opener was who Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups would bring off the bench. Avdija was the answer to that question in San Francisco, but he still brought solid fantasy value to the table. While not starting isn’t the best for Deni, his skill set is such that his fantasy value should not suffer too much. Grant finished Wednesday’s defeat with eight points, five rebounds, one assist, three steals and one three-pointer, shooting 2-of-11 from the field. Regardless of where he is in the rotation, as long as he’s active, Avdija is the superior fantasy option.

Avdija’s run at FIBA EuroBasket ended on Sunday, as Israel had no answer for Greece’s Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, on the heels of a successful debut season in Portland, this tournament was a success for Avdija individually. He scored at least 20 points in all six games, shooting just under 50 percent from the field. Avdija’s play, especially after the All-Star break, was one of the sources of optimism for the Trail Blazers despite missing the postseason. While a healthy Jerami Grant may push him back into a reserve role to begin next season, Avdija’s opportunities to be an impactful contributor should not be negatively impacted.

Avdija has been a force for Israel throughout EuroBasket, but this was his best performance of the tournament so far. However, it wasn’t enough to get the win over Luka Doncic (37/11/9) and Slovenia, which drops Israel to 3-2. They’ve qualified for the Round of 16, so expect more big performances from Avdija moving forward.

Avdija finished with at least 20 points in his fourth straight Eurobasket game, leading Israel to a needed victory. For as long as his team is still in contention, he should be the go-to option on offense. Heading into the 2025-26 NBA season, Avdija is ready to take another step forward with Portland after a breakout 2024-25 campaign.

Having lost to Poland on Saturday, Israel entered Sunday’s game against France needing a win to improve its chances of advancing out of the group stage. They got the job done, thanks to the offensive production of Avdija and former Boston Celtics draft pick Yam Madar (17/4/3/2 with two three-pointers) and the decision to switch to a 2-3 zone during the second half. Israel turned a 10-point deficit into an 82-69 victory, holding France without a point for more than four minutes during the fourth quarter.

Avdija scored 20 points in Israel’s win over Iceland on Thursday, and while he was able to surpass that mark and stuff the stat sheet in other ways, it wasn’t enough for them to start EuroBasket 2-0. Avdija will continue to lead the way for Israel throughout the tournament, with France next up on the schedule on Sunday.

Avdija got his 2025 FIBA EuroBasket campaign off to a solid start, even if his three-point shot was not falling. The Trail Blazers forward missed all five of his attempts from beyond the arc, but he proved a difficult matchup for Iceland inside the arc. Avdija shot 5-of-7 from two while also attempting 12 free throws, making 10. Teammate Roman Sorkin was the star of the 83-71 victory, as he went off for 31 points on 13-of-19 shooting. While Avdija’s role with his national team stands to be different from the one he’ll be asked to fill on a healthy Trail Blazers squad once the NBA season begins, he’s a player to watch in this tournament. In his first season with Portland, Avdija proved an excellent fantasy asset from Christmas onward, especially after Jerami Grant was sidelined due to injury.

Avdija was initially doubtful for Sunday’s game, while Sharpe was questionable. Deni was one of the revelations of the fantasy basketball season, especially after moving into the starting lineup just after Christmas. From December 28 onward, he was a top-60 player in eight-cat formats. As for Sharpe, he remains a superior option for points league formats than category leagues, but his value increased after a knee injury sidelined Jerami Grant in early March. Kris Murray and Rayan Rupert should play significant minutes for Sunday’s season finale.

Sharpe has a better chance of being on the court for Sunday’s season finale, with he and Avdija missing Friday’s loss to the Warriors. Portland started Matisse Thybulle and Kris Murray on the wings for that one, but both players offer limited offensive upside. Sunday could be a massive day for Sharpe if he’s allowed to play, with Murray being the player most likely to head to the bench.

Avdija is set to miss his third-straight game with a thumb injury. Matisse Thybulle will move into the starting lineup once again and is worth using in deeper formats. Sharpe will miss the game with a knee injury and Dalano Banton is expected to play a lot.

Avdija will not play on Sunday, leaving the Trail Blazers without a player who has recently been the team’s best offensive option. Anfernee Simons is a game-time decision, and his return would undoubtedly help Portland account for Avdija’s absence. Kris Murray’s playing time will likely increase, but he has not done enough to merit being streamed.

While Avdija was added to Portland’s injury report late on Friday, he still played 35 minutes in that night’s loss to the Bulls. As for Camara, he did not play after spraining his ankle during Thursday’s win over the Raptors. Matisse Thybulle logged 27 minutes as his replacement in the starting lineup but failed to provide the value needed to be a worthwhile streamer.

The Trail Blazers will miss out on the postseason for a fourth consecutive season, but the team has to be pleased with what they’ve seen from Avdija, especially over the past month. He’s scored 30 points or more six times since the beginning of March, providing top-10 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Avdija has been a league-winner down the stretch, and the good news for managers who have him rostered is that Portland is not finished with Week 22. They return home to host the Spurs on Sunday.

Avdija was a late addition to the injury report with a thumb injury, but is ultimately available Friday against the Bulls. His fantasy ceiling is sky high with Anfernee Simons (forearm) already ruled out. Fantasy managers just have to hope he isn’t limited by the thumb injury.

Avdija is a late addition to the Trail Blazers’ injury report, which is an ominous development for those who have him rostered. With Toumani Camara also out, Dalano Banton’s fantasy ceiling should be raised, even if Anfernee Simons is available. Matisse Thybulle played 29 and 25 minutes in his last two appearances, and a similar workload will make him worthy of a look in deep leagues.

Two days after recording the second triple-double of his career, Avdija turned in another monster stat line. He didn’t get enough assists to add another triple-double, but he was a beast on the glass once again. This was the fifth time in his last 12 appearances that he came away with at least 15 rebounds. Avdija’s incredible finish to the season should make him an enticing option heading into fantasy drafts next season. Over the past two weeks, he has provided first-round value in nine-cat leagues.

Only five players have recorded multiple 30-point triple-doubles this season: Nikola Jokic, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic and now Avdija. About a month after recording the first triple-double of his career, Avdija added a second one in a dominant performance against Atlanta. He has truly enjoyed a breakout season, though the start to the year was slow. This recent stretch has been his best with averages of 27.1 points, 10.9 rebounds, six assists, 1.6 steals and 3.3 three-pointers per game over the past two weeks. He will be an intriguing option heading into fantasy drafts next season.

The Knicks did not have an answer for Avdija during the first half of Sunday’s game, as he scored 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field. New York did a better job after the halftime break, but he still managed to record his sixth 30-point game of the season. Avdija is finishing the season in fine fashion, as he has provided top-15 value in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks and top-10 in eight-cat. The Trail Blazers play four games during Week 22, starting with the Hawks on Tuesday.

Avdija cooled off a bit after back-to-back 30-point performances, but he was able to lead Portland in scoring on Thursday despite the loss. Still, over the past two weeks, Avdija has averaged 22.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, one steal and 3.4 triples per game, which has him ranked inside the top 20 in nine-cat scoring during this stretch. He’ll look to keep it going in New York on Sunday to close out the week. He had 27 points and 15 rebounds in a loss to the Knicks earlier this month.

Avdija recorded his third double-double in four games, but he had a tough night shooting the basketball. Deni was 3-of-9 from inside the arc, which was far more surprising than him shooting 3-of-9 from three. However, given how productive he has been, the poor shooting was a blip on the radar. Over the past two weeks, Avdija has been a top 20 player in eight-cat formats. Rostered in 84 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he can be a difference-maker for shallow-league managers where Avdija is still available.

Avdija has recorded three double-doubles in his last six games, providing excellent fantasy value over the past two weeks. During this stretch, the Blazers forward has provided first-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. And with Portland still in the race for the final play-in spot in the West, there’s no reason for the team to consider shutting Avdija down. Portland plays three games during Week 21, starting with the Cavaliers on Tuesday.
