NAW has been excellent as a fill-in with Trae Young (knee) sidelined. After scoring a season-high 26 points in Atlanta’s last game, he nearly matched that mark in this one. The defensive stats haven’t come as consistently, but he has been a reliable scoring option, having scored at least 20 points in five of his last eight games. As long as Young is sidelined, NAW will continue to see a boost in usage and production, but he’ll still be worth rostering when Trae returns.

While Alexander-Walker has done more scoring since moving into the starting lineup for the injured Trae Young, the production in other categories has been solid. Since Halloween, he has provided eight-round value in nine-cat formats. That’s good enough to justify rostering Alexander-Walker in some 12-team leagues, but Jalen Johnson has been a bigger beneficiary of Young’s absence. The Hawks open a four-game Week 5 on Tuesday against the Pistons.

Alexander-Walker returned from a two-game absence and logged a balanced performance against the Kings on Wednesday. In 22 minutes, he made an impact with his scoring and passing on the offensive end, while also contributing on the defensive glass glass. As a result, the veteran guard finished as a game-high +44 in the Hawks’ route of the Kings.

Alexander-Walker is available after missing two games with lower back spasms, prompting the lone change to the Hawks’ starting lineup. His return means Keaton Wallace will head to the bench, where he offers limited fantasy value.

Alexander-Walker is back in the lineup after a two-game absence. His return likely means Keaton Wallace will come off the bench, where he offers minimal fantasy value at best. There’s no need to roster Wallace in any fantasy league with Alexander-Walker healthy.

Having missed the prior two games with lower back spasms, Alexander-Walker was initially questionable for Wednesday’s game. The status upgrade is a sign that he’s trending in the right direction. If Alexander-Walker plays, he’ll likely push Keaton Wallace out of the starting lineup.

Alexander-Walker has missed the Hawks’ last two games with lower back spasms. If he can play on Wednesday, Keaton Wallace will be bumped to the bench, where there’s no need to consider streaming him in deep leagues.

Alexander-Walker will miss a second straight game due to lower back spasms. Keaton Wallace started Saturday’s win over the Lakers and will likely retain that role. With Trae Young (knee) also out, Wallace is worth streaming in deeper leagues. Also, Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson should have more opportunities to initiate offense.

Alexander-Walker did not play in Saturday’s win over the Lakers, opening up a spot within the Hawks’ starting lineup. Keaton Wallace filled the void and will do so again if NAW is unavailable for Atlanta’s first game of its road trip.

NAW has been the starting point guard in place of Trae Young (knee), but his absence will open that role back up. Keaton Wallace should fill the void, and with Jalen Johnson (quad) also out, Dyson Daniels will have to step up as a playmaker.

Alexander-Walker is dealing with a low back strain. The Hawks suddenly have a long list of injuries with Trae Young, Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kennard already ruled out and Jalen Johnson questionable as well as Alexander-Walker. Expect Dyson Daniels to handle to ball quite a bit here and Keaton Wallace could see additional minutes if Alexander-Walker is ruled out.

Alexander-Walker did not provide any defensive stats on Friday, and that has limited his fantasy value since replacing the injured Trae Young in the starting lineup. While NAW is averaging 19.3 points over his last four, he hasn’t done much on the glass (2.3 rebounds) or in the defensive categories (0.5 steals and 0.5 blocks). While the role makes Alexander-Walker a player worth rostering, he hasn’t been the factor in category leagues that many hoped he would be.

The Hawks are without Trae Young (knee) for the foreseeable future, and Alexander-Walker replaced him in the starting lineup on Friday. NAW played well against the Pacers, shooting over 50 percent from the field and finishing a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. With Young unavailable, Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson had the ball in their hands more as playmakers, meaning that Alexander-Walker missed out on a potential boost to his assists. However, the performance was good enough to justify rostering him for as long as Young is out.

Trae Young will not play on Friday after spraining his right knee in Wednesday’s win over the Nets. He’ll be replaced in the starting lineup by Alexander-Walker, who combines with Daniels to form what could be an elite defensive backcourt. NAW should be rostered until the Hawks provide further clarity on Young’s injury and how much time he’s expected to miss.

Alexander-Walker’s role within the Hawks’ rotation took on added importance during Wednesday’s game, as Trae Young (knee) exited during the second quarter and did not return. NAW was impactful on both ends of the floor in Brooklyn, and he’s ranked just outside the top-50 in nine-cat formats through five games. Young will undergo an MRI on Thursday to determine the severity of his injury, and he could be in for an extended absence. Alexander-Walker, who’s rostered in 22 percent of Yahoo! leagues, should be added to fantasy rosters immediately.

Zaccharie Risacher (ankle) was sidelined for this game, which allowed NAW to start in his place. Though he made just one of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc, NAW was able to make an impact on both ends of the floor to help the Hawks get their first win of the season. NAW shot 2-of-15 from the floor in his debut for the team, so this performance was much better. If Risacher remains out against the Thunder on Saturday, NAW will get another start.

Starting in place of Dyson Daniels, Alexander-Walker struggled from beyond the arc, shooting 1-of-7 on the night. However, he shot 5-of-8 from two and was perfect from the foul line. The role Alexander-Walker filled on Thursday did not align with what he’ll be asked to do once the regular season begins, as he’ll come off the bench and can play any of the three perimeter positions. He isn’t a must-draft player in shallow formats, but taking a late-round flier on Alexander-Walker in standard leagues would not be a bad idea.

After taking on a key role off the bench in Minnesota, Alexander-Walker will do the same in Atlanta after agreeing to a four-year, $62.5 million deal in July. The defensive potential of a NAW/Dyson Daniels tandem on the perimeter may excite fans the most. Alexander-Walker’s first stint on Monday was played alongside Daniels (8/3/5/2/1), who finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting last season. Alexander-Walker can also be used alongside Trae Young (9/2/8 with two three-pointers), and the versatility gives him a shot at achieving fantasy relevance in his new home.

The Hawks are sending a 2027 second-round pick via Cleveland and cash to the Timberwolves to complete the sign and trade. The contract includes a player option and a trade kicker. The writing appeared to be on the wall for Alexander-Walker in Minnesota with the Timberwolves opting to re-sign both Julius Randle and Naz Reid. Now the 26-year-old shooting guard finds himself on a Hawks team that appears to be going for it in a wide open Eastern Conference. Alexander-Walker and Dyson Daniels can provide premium defense in the backcourt around the playmaking Trae Young.

While Alexander-Walker’s play for the duration of the playoffs appeared to raise his ceiling heading into unrestricted free agency, Game 5 was a dud. He missed all eight of his shot attempts on the night, going scoreless for the first time this postseason. Alexander-Walker’s fantasy value next season depends on where he lands. If Minnesota can work something out and re-sign him, he’ll be a deep-league option at best after underwhelming from a fantasy standpoint. However, with the Timberwolves having Rob Dillingham and Terrence Shannon Jr., the decision could be made that Alexander-Walker is too expensive to retain.

Alexander-Walker, who will be a free agent this summer, has picked a good time to increase his production. A double-digit scorer in each of the last three games, he was at his best Monday night. The 23 points were a playoff career-high for Alexander-Walker, who scored 20 in Game 2 of Minnesota’s second-round series against the Warriors. While expecting a similar performance from him in Game 5 would be a bit much, Alexander-Walker can be a factor off the bench. Even if the point total is not as robust, NAW must provide value again to help the Timberwolves force a Game 6.

With Naz Reid (10/8/0/1/2) and Donte DiVincenzo (8/3/3 with two three-pointers) both shooting 3-of-8 from the field, Alexander-Walker did most of the heavy lifting for the Timberwolves’ reserves in Game 2. The 17 points are the most he’s scored in a game since Game 2 of the second round, when he dropped 20 on the Warriors. Nights like Thursday have not been the norm for Alexander-Walker, so Minnesota will need more from Reid and DiVincenzo to win this series. With the action shifting to Minneapolis, the Timberwolves hope the belief that reserves play better at home rings true.

Alexander-Walker was a key scorer off the bench in Game 2. He combined with Naz Reid and Donte DiVencenzo for 10 made three-pointers off the bench. In a game where the Warriors were desperate for scoring without Stephen Curry (hamstring), those bench points were too much to overcome as the Timberwolves won by 24 points.

NAW was Minnesota’s primary reserve option on Tuesday, with Donte DiVincenzo and Naz Reid serving suspensions. He came up big for them late, hitting multiple big shots and finally winning the game after being fouled on a three-pointer with 0.1 seconds left in the game. He made the first two and missed the final shot intentionally to end the game. This was a new season-high for scoring for NAW, and he approached triple-double territory. Unfortunately, with both DiVincenzo and Reid coming back, he likely won’t see 45 minutes in another game anytime soon.

Most of NAW’s big nights as a scorer have come when he is starting, but he was able to provide buckets as a reserve on Tuesday. This was Alexander-Walker’s third 20-point game off the bench this season, with two of those coming since the All-Star break. NAW is more than capable of contributing value in nine-cat leagues, but he is a risky option to stream in when he isn’t in the starting lineup. Still, it was nice to see him play this well as a reserve.

NAW has come off the bench in Minnesota’s last three games, but he has still been productive. This was the fifth-straight game that he has scored in double figures. He may be in line for an even larger opportunity on Friday if Anthony Edwards’ 16th technical foul, which he picked up on Thursday, isn’t rescinded. Edwards is on track to be suspended against the Jazz, which would likely allow NAW to move into the starting unit, or at least take on extra minutes. Minnesota still has two more games this week, with the final one coming in Phoenix on Sunday.
