Bogdanović played like someone who was out of the Clippers’ rotation and didn’t play in their first two games for a reason. Filling in for Bradley Beal (back), Bogdanović went 0-for-4 from the field with no points and five turnovers in 24 minutes. It’s difficult to spin that performance. Kris Dunn was more effective off the bench with nine points in 21 minutes and could draw the start the next time Beal is out.

The Clippers will not have Bradley Beal for Sunday’s game, as he recovers from a back injury suffered during Friday’s win over the Suns. He’ll be replaced in the starting lineup by Bogdanović, who was out of the rotation and did not play in the Clippers’ first two games. Kris Dunn will also have added importance on Sunday, especially if the Clippers struggle to defend Shaedon Sharpe.

Unfortunately, Bogi only played two minutes in Thursday’s exhibition opener before exiting with a lower back injury. While the veteran wing said he was fine while walking back to the locker room, there’s no need to risk anything in a preseason game. Bogdanović’s early departure frees up additional minutes for Jordan Miller and Trentyn Flowers, who are both on two-way deals.

Harden, Leonard and Zubac being the starting lineup for the Clippers’ preseason opener was to be expected. However, with Bradley Beal (knee) still working his way back from offseason surgery, Bogdanović will start at shooting guard. He had an injury scare during EuroBasket this summer. However, while Bogi was limited early in training camp, the limitations did not last long. Also of note is Jones receiving the starting nod at the four, with John Collins coming off the bench. Many assumed Collins would slot into the starting role when he was signed in the summer, but Jones has a legitimate shot at beginning the regular season as a starter.

Both Bradley Beal (knee) and Bogdanovic are limited, and while it isn’t clear if this will impact either player’s status for opening night, it isn’t what the Clippers want to see at this point. Kris Dunn should see the largest role increase if Bogi and Beal are forced to miss any time.

Bogdanovic injured his hamstring during Serbia’s win over Portugal in the team’s second EuroBasket group stage game. According to the Serbian basketball federation, he has been diagnosed with a hamstring tear and has returned to Los Angeles to undergo treatment under the observation of the Clippers’ team doctors. The severity of the injury remains unknown, but at a minimum, Bogdanovic will not play again at EuroBasket. The question now is how long the recovery process will take and whether he’ll be healthy when training camp opens in late September.

While Bogdanovic has been a solid addition to the Clippers’ roster, his production has tailed off over the past two weeks. During this stretch, he’s ranked outside the top 200 in eight- and nine-cat formats. Wednesday was one of Bogdanovic’s good nights, but he’s only reached double figures in four of his last eight appearances. He remains rostered in 60 percent of Yahoo! leagues, but that’s due more to the expectations for Bogdanovic while he was with the Hawks than what he’s done recently.

Bogdanovic is available after being listed as questionable with a knee injury. The 32-year-old shooting guard could squeeze Kris Dunn and Derrick Jones Jr. for minutes in the rotation with Kawhi Leonard also back in the lineup.

Bogdanovic wasn’t celebrating a birthday like teammates Ivica Zubac and Kris Dunn on Tuesday, but he had one of his best games as a Clipper. The veteran wing did not miss, shooting 8-of-8 from the field. Bogdanovic has reached double figures in 10 of the 17 games he’s played since being traded to the Clippers, notching 20 or more on three occasions. While he remains rostered in 60 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Bogdanovic is ranked outside the top 150 in eight- and nine-cat formats since the All-Star break.

Norman Powell (hamstring) is set to be revaluated around March 14, which means that Bogdanovic should remain in the starting lineup for at least five more games and could certainly remain in that role beyond that if Powell remains out. Bogi scored 13 points in the first half on Tuesday, but he wasn’t able to contribute any buckets after the break. It has been a down year for the veteran shooting guard, but this will be a great opportunity for him to get in rhythm before the postseason.

The Clippers will not have Norman Powell (hamstring) for at least 10 days, opening up a spot in the starting lineup. Bogdanovic will fill the void, and he’s worthy of consideration in standard leagues. Bogdanovic hasn’t been highly impactful since being traded to the Clippers, but he’s capable of having a big night.
