Brooks looked sharp in his return to Phoenix’s lineup following a two-week absence where he missed six games while recovering from a groin injury. He kicked off the contest by jawing with Clippers star James Harden and backed up the talk by draining two of three from downtown and getting to the charity stripe with regularity. He’s averaging nearly 19 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in four games to kick off his Phoenix debut.

Brooks will return from a six-game absence and immediately return to the starting unit, which pushes Royce O’Neale to a reserve role. The rest of the starters will remain the same, which bodes well for Grayson Allen.

After a six-game absence, Brooks will be back in the lineup against LA. His return should result in Royce O’Neale returning to a reserve role, which will put an end to his run as a streamer. Brooks’ return could also take away minutes from Ryan Dunn.

Brooks has missed the Suns’ last six games with a core muscle strain, but a return to action may be on the horizon. Immediately ruled out ahead of the previous six games, he’s considered questionable for Saturday night. If Brooks can play, he’s likely to bump Royce O’Neale to the bench.

Brooks will miss a sixth straight game with a groin injury. Royce O’Neale should remain in the starting lineup and is worth rostering as long as Brooks cannot play. O’Neale has provided sixth-round value in nine-cat formats this season.

This will be a fifth straight absence for Brooks, which means Royce O’Neale will be in line for another start. O’Neale has hit 17 three-pointers over the Suns’ last four games as a starter and is worth streaming until Brooks is back.

Brooks will miss a third straight game due to right groin soreness. Royce O’Neale will remain in the starting lineup until that changes, and he’s worth streaming in deep leagues.

Wednesday’s game will be the second Brooks has missed with a sore right groin. Royce O’Neale started Monday’s overtime loss to the Jazz, playing 46 of a possible 53 minutes. He may retain that role on Wednesday, even if Jalen Green (hamstring) is available. Green is worth streaming, especially in deep leagues.

Brooks has officially been ruled out after initially being listed as questionable to play against Utah. Royce O’Neale should slide into the starting lineup, with Rasheer Fleming and Nigel Hayes-Davis taking on a few extra minutes off the bench.

Due to Jalen Green’s absence, Brooks has taken on a far larger role on the offensive end of the floor than anticipated through Phoenix’s first three games. If he cannot play against the Jazz, Royce O’Neale would be the most logical candidate to fill the void in the starting lineup. When allowed to start in the past, O’Neale has managed to provide decent streaming value.

Brooks was accurate on high volume from beyond the arc on Friday, which allowed him to tally at least 20 points for the second straight game. The total output was enough to lead the team in scoring, which isn’t shocking when also considering Jalen Green’s absence. However, Brooks will almost certainly remain a focal point of the offense even when Green makes his Suns debut. Fantasy managers should assume the volume is here to stay.

Working as hard defensively as Brooks does, there may be a little more freedom offensively, even if that isn’t always the best approach. With Jalen Green (hamstring) still unavailable, more shots are available for Suns not named Devin Booker. Brooks took full advantage in his official Suns debut, firing up 24 shots. The issue for him was the three-point shooting. While Brooks shot 50 percent from two, he was just 1-of-8 from three. A career 35.5 percent shooter, Brooks made 39.7 percent of his three-point attempts last season. However, Wednesday’s poor three-point shooter should not detract from Brooks’ all-around performance, which was one reason why the Suns erased a 17-point deficit and took home the victory. He isn’t the best fantasy option, but there should be room for Brooks on deep-league rosters due to the role he’s being asked to fill.

After attempting five shots in his first action as a member of the Suns, Brooks’ shot volume was far more robust on Friday. He was the lone starter to hit double figures in attempts, leading all players with 18 shots on the day. Efficiency has rarely been a strength for Brooks, which has made him no better than a late-round option in fantasy, and even that would be generous. However, with Jalen Green (hamstring) sidelined, Brooks may be worth taking a flier on, especially if JG can’t get back in time for the October 22 opener against Sacramento.

Brooks’ unofficial Suns debut went smoothly on Friday night. In addition to bringing his usual brand of defense, the veteran forward was disciplined in his shot selection. Four of the five attempts came from beyond the arc, with Brooks knocking down three. Will that hold once the regular season begins? Given Brooks’ track record, fantasy managers can’t be blamed if they’re skeptical. He remains a player who will be a late-round option, at best, in standard leagues. However, from a non-fantasy standpoint, it will be fun to watch the wing tandem of Brooks and Ryan Dunn (4/8/3/1) go to work defensively on a nightly basis.

Having spent the first six seasons of his NBA career in Memphis, Brooks played one season for the Rockets before being included in Sunday’s reported transaction. Known more for his defense and ability to be an irritant to opposing teams, the veteran forward made 75 starts for Houston in 2024-25. In those outings, Brooks averaged 14.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.5 three-pointers per game. While he shot just over 42 percent from the field overall, Brooks’ 39.7 percent mark from three was the best of his NBA career to date. Fantasy-wise, he’s been a late-round option at best in standard leagues, and that’s unlikely to change in Phoenix. However, Brooks is joining a team that finished this season ranked 28th in defensive rating and 22nd in points allowed per game.

Brooks crashed back to earth after scoring 24 points in Game 5, totaling 11 points on 4-of-14 shooting. He’s been more valuable to the Rockets as a defender and veteran presence, hence his low Yahoo! ADP of 139. At best, Brooks will likely remain a late-round pick in standard leagues, while managers in 10-team formats can afford to leave him alone in drafts next fall.

Brooks finally had a big game on offense in this series. He hadn’t been bad, but this was the first time he surpassed 20 points in a game this series. It was a great response from him after he allowed Jimmy Butler to take over in the second half on Monday and lead the Warriors to victory. Brooks will need to continue to shoot the ball like he did in this game for the Rockets to win in Golden State in Game 6 on Friday.

While Brooks was the lone Rockets starter to shoot at least 50 percent from the field in Game 3, he struggled with foul trouble throughout. The veteran defender would pick up four fouls in the first half and foul out with 3:47 remaining and the Rockets trailing by four. Houston would go on to lose by 11, falling behind the Warriors two games to one. With Fred VanVleet and Jalen Green (9/6/5/1 with one three-pointer in 39 minutes) being inconsistent scorers, any production the Rockets receive from Brooks will be welcome. Game 4 is on Monday.

Through the first two games of this series, Brooks has shot 4-of-10 from beyond the arc. While that isn’t necessarily great, he’s done enough to keep the Warriors honest thus far. Brooks will need to continue to do so as the series moves to San Francisco, whether Golden State has Jimmy Butler (pelvis) or not. Game 3 is on Saturday night.

Having scored 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting in Houston’s April 6 win over the Warriors, Brooks likely entered Sunday’s series opener with ample offensive confidence. While he did have a better night shooting-wise than starting guards Fred VanVleet and Jalen Green, Brooks offered limited offensive value, and the defensive stats weren’t there, either. He and Amen Thompson (8/9/6/1/1 in 33 minutes) will have their hands full in this series, and they’ll need to provide some offense as well. The Rockets will look to even the series at 1-all in Game 2 on Wednesday.

Brooks was back on the court after serving a one-game suspension on Friday, and he significantly contributed to the Rockets’ victory on Sunday. He’s scored 21 points or more in two straight games, and his 24 on Sunday were the most he’s had in a game since March 17. Jabari Smith Jr.'s playing time took a hit with Brooks back in the lineup, but he still contributed 16 points, nine rebounds, one assist and two three-pointers in 27 minutes off the bench. Smith remains the superior fantasy option, but Brooks can have the occasional night when he can provide unexpected value.

Brooks was whistled for a technical foul with 7:12 remaining in the first quarter when he kicked Collin Sexton in the stomach after being stripped of the basketball. That was his 16th of the season, which triggers an automatic one-game suspension, unless the league overturns the call. While this wasn’t Bruce Lee vs. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in “Game of Death,” it’s doubtful Brooks receives the benefit of the doubt. Managers shouldn’t expect to see him on the court on Friday when the Rockets host the Thunder. That could keep Tari Eason in the starting lineup, even if Fred VanVleet returns from his ankle injury.

Brooks got into an altercation with Kevin Durant, and both players were issued technical fouls with 4:48 remaining in the second quarter. However, Brooks would receive a second technical foul for arguing with an official, resulting in an early trip to the showers. He played 11 minutes, finishing with eight points, one rebound, one assist, one steal, one block and two three-pointers. Jabari Smith Jr. replaced Brooks in the lineup to begin the third quarter.

For the second time in four games, Brooks has made five three-pointers. However, while he has averaged 2.8 three-pointers per game over the past two weeks, the Rockets guard has only provided 12th-round value in eight-cat formats. Brooks does not offer much value as a rebounder, and his defensive stats have also been limited. That makes him a difficult player to trust in most fantasy leagues, even on nights like Sunday.

Prior to fouling out, Brooks was able to pour in the points. This was the second time during this winning streak that Brooks has scored at least 25 points in a game. He isn’t typically a strong option in category formats, but when he is able to score at this rate, he can make an impact. Still, managers can’t trust him to score like this consistently. This was a great performance for Brooks, but he should only be rostered in deeper formats.

Brooks is knocking down 2.4 triples per game at a 38.7% clip this season, both career highs. The seven triples are his second-most of the campaign, and Brooks has hit at least five three-pointers in seven games in the 2024-25 campaign.

Brooks will join Amen Thompson, Alperen Sengun and Fred VanVleet on the sideline, leaving Houston depleted across the roster. Jock Landale will start at center for Sengun, and Adams will be the first center off the bench. Reed Sheppard and Cam Whitmore will man backcourt duties for what could be a lopsided affair.

Brooks lands on the injury report with a right knee contusion, which he suffered during Saturday’s loss to the Kings. If he’s unable to play on Monday, Cam Whitmore or Jae’Sean Tate (who’s a superior defender to Whitmore) may enter the rotation. Neither would be worth streaming in most fantasy leagues.
