Brunson didn’t have to do much on Sunday, as five other Knicks finished the 134-98 victory in double figures. The point guard still dished out seven assists and shot 3-of-8 from beyond the arc, and he only played 29 minutes. In fact, no Knicks starter reached 30 minutes. While that may not be great for fantasy managers, Brunson and the other starters remained effective. New York plays three games during Week 4, starting with the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

Brunson recorded his first double-double of the season on Wednesday, including a season-high 10 assists. Finishing three rebounds shy of his first career triple-double, the Knicks’ point guard has increased his scoring average. Averaging 26.0 per night last season, he’s up to 28.3 through eight games. While the ball has been in the hands of the Knicks’ wings more often than it was last season, Brunson is still a focal point of the team’s offensive actions. Playing off the ball more has given Brunson more room to operate, and he’s taken advantage.

In the Knicks’ home-and-home with the Bulls, Brunson totaled 60 points on 22-of-47 shooting from the field. He’s scored 30 points or more in four of his first six games, a clear sign that his offense won’t suffer in a system that has taken the ball out of Brunson’s hand more than in years past. Heading into Week 3, Brunson is providing top-25 value in nine-cat formats. The Knicks play three games, starting with the Wizards on Monday.

Brunson’s streak of 30-point games ended at three, as he fell one point shy of the threshold on Friday. While the free-throw percentage was disappointing, many fantasy managers will take the overall stat line from the Knicks captain. Through five games, Brunson is providing third-round value in nine-cat formats on solid percentages, so fantasy managers don’t have much to worry about. He’ll look to help the Knicks end their three-game skid when they host the Bulls on Sunday.

On a night when Karl-Anthony Towns (8/12/1/2/1) and OG Anunoby (9/6/4/1/1 with one three-pointer) combined for 17 points on 5-of-23 shooting, Brunson did what he could to carry the Knicks offensively. He’s scored 31 points or more in three straight games, shooting 50 percent or better in each. There was an injury scare during the fourth quarter, as Brunson slipped and appeared to tweak his groin on two separate occasions. He did close out the game, but that’s something to be mindful of in the lead-up to the Knicks’ NBA Cup matchup with the Bulls on Friday.

On a night when the Knicks shot 38.8 percent from the field, Brunson was one of the few who managed to get untracked offensively. The 37 points are a season-high for the point guard, who was efficient as a scorer and gave fantasy managers the bonus of four steals. Unfortunately, the Knicks only play three games during Week 2, starting with the Bucks on Tuesday.

Brunson was 5-of-18 from the field in the opener against the Cavaliers, but bounced back with a 31-point performance in the win over the Celtics on Friday. The 29-year-old point guard had his 76th game with at least 30 points since joining the Knicks, which is second among guards in the franchise’s history. Brunson played 35 minutes in the win so not much has changed under new coach Mike Brown so far.

Brunson had a rough night from beyond the arc, making just one of his nine attempts. However, his ability to get to the foul line boosted the final points tally, with the Knicks star putting up 23 points. Last season, Brunson had six games in which he attempted at least 13 free throws, scoring at least 31 points in each. Given his track record since joining the Knicks, nights like Wednesday will not be the norm for Brunson. He’ll look to bounce back on Friday when New York hosts Boston.

While the six turnovers may have been too high for Brunson’s liking, the overall performance was a sign that he’s ready for the regular season. The Knicks played Friday’s game without four key contributors, so the game did not represent the “dress rehearsal” that many teams prefer for their final preseason action. Brunson logged 34 minutes, one minute less than his average since joining the Knicks in 2022. Once the Knicks’ rotation is whole, Brunson may have the ball in his hands a little less than in the past, but he’ll remain the first option on offense.

Brunson did not play at all after halftime, which was also the case for Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and Mitchell Robinson. The point guard was not as ball-dominant as he was last season, with Bridges spending more time on the ball in the two-man game. That dynamic will be worth tracking throughout the preseason as the Knicks get acclimated to new head coach Mike Brown’s preferred offense, which allows for multiple playmakers and prioritizes pace. Brunson’s fantasy value will be fine, and taking the ball out of his hands a bit more could result in a few more cleaner looks if the other potential playmakers are up to the task.

Brunson took the Knicks as far as they could go this year. In a must-win situation on the road in Game 6, the 28-year-old point guard faced the toughest Pacers defense he’d seen all series. Brunson’s 19 points were the lowest total he had in the series. He turned the ball over five times and was -18 in 34 minutes as the Knicks season came to an end in Game 6. Brunson had a number of accomplishments this year such as being honored by the All-NBA team, Clutch Player of the Year, and taking the Knicks as far in the playoffs as they’ve been in 25 years. While Brunson was excellent in these playoffs, his supporting cast wasn’t enough for the Knicks to make the Finals. New York will head into the offseason with questions surrounding the direction of the team after falling short in the playoffs once again.

Brunson became one of 10 guards in NBA playoff history to have at least 10 games with at least 30 points in a single playoffs. The 28-year-old point guard was plus-18 in 34 minutes as the Knicks were facing elimination at home in Game 5. Brunson will once again be the Knicks’ go-to guy as they look to force a Game 7 with a win in Indiana during Saturday’s Game 6.

While the Knicks opted to start Mitchell Robinson over Josh Hart again, Hart ended up playing 36 minutes. The Knicks usual starters Brunson, Hart, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges and Karl Anthony-Towns all played at least 34 minutes. Of those players, Brunson’s -16 was the worst. The 28-year-old point guard has struggled defensively, which isn’t his strong suit. With the Pacers pushing the pace and scoring 130 points, Brunson’s 31 points matter less in the grand scheme of things. Brunson and the Knicks will be looking to avoid elimination in Game 5 back at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.

While the final points tally may have been solid, Brunson did not have a good Game 3. Shooting 33.3 percent from the field, the Knicks’ point guard also picked up four fouls during the first half. While Brunson did not pick up his fifth until just over seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, New York was more cohesive when he was on the bench. The Knicks aren’t going to bench Brunson for Tuesday’s Game 4. But they’ll need him to be much better to even this series at two games apiece.

Brunson did what he could to drag the Knicks over the finish line in Game 2, but Indiana’s offensive production was too much to overcome. The point guard did make franchise history, however, notching his 19th 30-point playoff game as a Knick. Brunson is now atop the list, passing Patrick Ewing (18 postseason 30-point games) with Friday’s performance. Regardless of who the Pacers have assigned to Brunson, he’s managed to get his points, and the turnovers were kept in check after he racked up seven in Game 1. New York will need Brunson to be at his best for Sunday’s Game 3, as they head to Indianapolis in a 0-2 hole.

Brunson did everything he could to help the Knicks take Game 1, but it simply wasn’t enough. This was the ninth 40-point game of his playoff career and his second of this postseason. Two of Brunson’s seven turnovers came in overtime, and New York lost the turnover battle 15-7. They’ll need to clean that up in order to get back on track in Game 2 of this series on Friday. Expect Brunson to continue to pour in the points for the entirety of this series.

Limited to 7-of-17 shooting in New York’s blowout loss to the Celtics in Game 5, Brunson was far more efficient in Friday’s series clincher. Jaylen Brown did not defend Brunson as often as on Wednesday, with the Celtics’ wing’s foul trouble likely being a factor. New York began to extend its lead late in the first quarter and put the game out of reach in the second, outscoring the Celtics by a 38-17 margin. Next up for Brunson and the Knicks are the Pacers, with New York reaching the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000. Game 1 is on tap for Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

Brunson recorded his fourth playoff game with at least 35 points and at least 10 assists since joining the Knicks on Monday. His 39-point performance, which included 18 points in the third quarter alone, has the Knicks one win away from the Eastern Conference finals. With the Knicks up 3-1 in the series, they’ll have three chances to close out the Celtics, starting with Game 5 in Boston on Wednesday.

Brunson bounced back from 17 points in Game 2 to put up 27 points in Game 3. The 28-year-old point guard’s best utility is his ability to score difficult points in the fourth quarter of close games. Unfortunately for the Knicks, there wasn’t a close game for Brunson to work his magic and tilt in the Knicks’ favor Saturday as the Celtics took Game 3 by 22 points. Brunson still played 40 minutes and every Knicks starter played at least 31 minutes in the loss. The Knicks will get one day off before Game 4 on Monday night, where they’ll have the chance to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series at home.

It was a rough night overall for Brunson, but he still came up big when the game mattered most. He scored the final six points for the Knicks, which included the bucket that finally gave them the lead. The series will now shift to New York with the Knicks leading 2-0. Brunson’s subpar night didn’t cost them on Wednesday, but he’ll need to be much better in Game 3 if they want to defend homecourt on Saturday.

Brunson did not have the best night shooting-wise, but he and the Knicks were good enough to erase a 20-point deficit in Game 1. And the three-point line had much to do with New York’s victory. Despite the Celtics attempting 60 three-pointers to New York’s 37, the Knicks were a plus-6 in points from beyond the arc. Brunson was 6-of-10 in the third and fourth quarters, serving as an offensive catalyst for the East’s third seed. Game 2 is on Wednesday night.

Brunson put the Knicks on his back as he closed out the Pistons on the road in Game 6. The 28-year-old point guard turned in his eighth career 40-point game in playoffs. Brunson leads the playoffs in points, 30-point games and points in the fourth quarter. With the shot clock off in a tie game at the end of the fourth quarter, Brunson shook free from Ausar Thompson and drained a three, his third of the game, to give the Knicks the lead with under five seconds left. It was a pivotal victory for the Knicks as New York will now have a few days off before beginning their second-round series with the Celtics.

Harassed by Pistons defensive ace Ausar Thompson for most of his time on the court, Brunson shot 3-of-12 from inside the arc in Game 5. Making matters worse was the Knicks’ point guard aggravating his right ankle injury late in the fourth quarter. With New York trailing by two when Brunson and Josh Hart had to exit due to injuries, the Pistons extended their lead to six before the two starters returned to the game with 27.1 seconds remaining. There’s no doubt that Brunson will do his best to play through the ankle injury, but it becomes more concerning the longer this series lasts. Game 6 is on Thursday in Detroit.

Brunson had an injury scare in the third quarter but was crucial in the final frame when his team secured a comeback victory. The star point guard scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to help New York edge out Detroit in a low-scoring contest. He’s scored at least 30 points in every game of the first-round series.
