Batum tallied a season-high in points and three-pointers on Thursday to help the Clippers win their sixth straight game. The veteran forward has mostly become a spot-up three-point shooter at this stage of his career and continues to shoot them efficiently. He likely won’t add much fantasy value if his three-point shot isn’t dropping on high volume, but he’ll likely be available as a streaming option in fantasy leagues for those in dire need of three-point production.

The Clippers won’t have John Collins for Sunday’s game, as he has been ruled out due to illness. Batum will fill the void in the starting lineup, due partially to Derrick Jones Jr. being under a minutes restriction in his first game back from a knee injury. Batum is not worth the streaming risk in fantasy leagues.

Batum was the lone Clippers player to not practice on Sunday, as he is still dealing with an illness. The veteran forward should be considered questionable for Monday’s game against the Grizzlies, and his availability does not have a significant impact on fantasy basketball.

Batum wasn’t in the starting lineup to begin Tuesday’s 19-point defeat, but he was part of the five who began the third quarter. Bogdan Bogdanović (two points and one rebound in nine minutes) received the starting nod but only played the first five minutes of the first half, as he continues to struggle with his shot. Regardless of who starts while Bradley Beal (back) is sidelined, neither is worth the streaming risk. The Clippers are off until Friday, when they host the Pelicans.

According to Shams, the deal includes a trade kicker and team option. Batum should see minutes in the 15-20 range, after logging 17.5 a season ago. If he plays out the next two seasons, he’ll be 38, and this could be his last NBA contract. He’ll be a glue guy for the Clippers, but he’s unlikely to make much of a splash for fantasy basketball managers.

The 2008 first-round pick has had a lengthy career, and after nearly two decades, it may be coming to a close. Batum’s most productive seasons came in Portland, though he was still excellent with Charlotte and has been a valuable role player with the Clippers and 76ers in the later years of his career. His 17.5 minutes per game this season were a new career-low, and he will likely continue to play a small reserve role next season. Though he hasn’t added a ring to his resume, Batum has had a lot of success in his basketball career, including helping France to the silver medal in both the 2020 and 2024 Olympics.

Batum practiced fully on Wednesday, so it isn’t surprising that he will be available to play in Game 1 against Denver. The Clippers haven’t released an official injury report yet, but Batum should play his usual role off the bench, which was 17.5 minutes per game during the regular season.

After injuring his groin during an April 9 game against Houston, Batum did not play in the Clippers’ final two regular-season games. Wednesday’s practice was the team’s first time on the court since their overtime win over the Warriors on Sunday, and Batum was among the participants. The veteran forward, who will reportedly be re-evaluated on Wednesday, was a full participant in the session, which bodes well for Batum. The Clippers won’t begin their first-round series against the Nuggets until Saturday, so there’s still time for Batum to recover from his injury.

Batum missed the Clippers’ final two regular-season games after injuring his groin on Wednesday, not even traveling up the coast for matchups with the Kings and Warriors. The team did not practice on Tuesday, beginning their preparations for the Nuggets with film study. Batum does not provide consistent value on the offensive end of the floor, but his defensive ability makes him an important player off the bench.

Batum’s absence impacts the Clippers’ rotation for Sunday’s game more. His absence means additional playing time for Derrick Jones Jr., but “Airplane Mode” is not worth the risk in most active fantasy leagues. Mills has not played consistent rotation minutes this season. Depending on Sunday’s results, the Clippers can finish anywhere fourth, fifth or seventh in the Western Conference standings.

Few, if any, expected Batum to be as impactful offensively as he was on Friday. The Clippers forward shot 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, and the 17 points are the most he’s scored in a game this season. Add the complete stat line, and the one percent of Yahoo! managers with Batum rostered were handsomely rewarded on Friday. However, as good as this performance was, it has not been the norm for the veteran forward. Batum has scored in double figures four times this season, and his previous high was 12 points. Unless there’s a dire need to roll the dice on Sunday night, there’s little need to add Batum ahead of the Clippers’ game against the Kings.

In addition to Norman Powell, the Clippers will be without Kawhi Leonard and Derrick Jones Jr. for Wednesday’s game. Bogdanovic will remain in the starting lineup, with Batum stepping in for Leonard. While Bogdanovic can provide solid value when allowed to start, Batum tends to be more important to the Clippers than fantasy managers.
