Banchero bounced back on Wednesday from a forgettable Tuesday against the Wizards to help the Magic edge out the Nets in overtime. He notched a team-high in points and was one of several Magic players to secure double-digit rebounds. The numbers equated to the former first-overall pick’s second double-double of the month and 11th of the season. Banchero did struggle with his ball security, committing nine turnovers and ultimately costing himself some fantasy basketball production. Still, his lone three-pointer, which beat the buzzer in overtime, more than made up for the miscues. His final line was exceptional, considering he was benched in a 14-point effort on Tuesday.

Tuesday was a bad night for Banchero and the Magic, specifically the starters. Orlando’s first five were being beaten soundly, and head coach Jamahl Mosley ultimately decided to stick with his bench for the entirety of the fourth quarter. As a result, Banchero only played 25 minutes, which was tops amongst the starters. They’ll look to redeem themselves on Wednesday in Brooklyn against the Nets.

After taking just eight shots in the first half, Banchero put together an extremely impressive second half, shouldering a significant portion of the scoring workload with both Franz Wagner (ankle) and Jalen Suggs (knee) out of action. He finished with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including a pair of triples. The 23-year-old franchise cornerstone has shaken off a mid-December funk to score 23 points or more in four consecutive games over the past week, delivering third-round fantasy value during that span.

Banchero continues to carry the offense with Franz Wagner out. The 23-year-old power forward has 84 points over his last three games. Unfortunately for the Magic, Banchero’s 31 points weren’t nearly enough as the game was out of reach late for the Magic. Orlando will have a chance to get back in the win column Sunday against the Pacers.

Banchero drew some flack earlier this week after missing a potential game-winning shot at the buzzer Monday against the Raptors. The 23-year-old power forward bounced back in a big way Wednesday against the Pacers as he backed down his defender before driving and delivering the game-winner that put the Magic up 112-110 with seven seconds left. Banchero will continue to carry the offense with Franz Wagner out. The Magic will take on the Bulls Friday in their third of four games this week.

Banchero ended a streak of 13 or less points in three consecutive games in a big way with a triple-double against the Raptors on Monday. The 23-year-old’s effort wasn’t enough to secure the win, though. Banchero missed a shot in the final seconds trailing by one with Scottie Barnes guarding him. The Magic have three more games this week, starting with the Pacers on Wednesday.

Yikes. Banchero’s ice-cold stretch continued in this one as he was held to 13 points or fewer for the second straight contest. The 23-year-old franchise cornerstone has been stuck in a rut offensively for the better part of the last two weeks, averaging just 19.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.5 blocks over that six-game stretch, delivering abysmal 13th-round fantasy value during that span. Orlando’s persistent offensive struggles aren’t going to vanish overnight but they’ll get Franz Wagner (ankle) back at some point soon which should help elevate the rest of their secondary scorers. However, they need Banchero to elevate his game if they’re going to be a true contender in the Eastern Conference.

While he didn’t record any defensive stats in Monday’s defeat, this was another highly productive night for Banchero on offense. He’s scored at least 20 points in four straight games, his longest streak since recording six consecutive games with 20 or more in late October/early November. Over the last two weeks, Banchero has been an eighth-round player in eight-cat formats. While that isn’t close to his Yahoo! ADP (30), it’s a marked improvement when compared to his season-long value. Banchero will look to end the road trip on a high note Tuesday night in Portland.

Banchero was just one rebound and one assist shy of a triple-double. The 23-year-old power forward had a great game, though it was new teammate Desmond Bane who took charge down the stretch and in overtime. Banchero struggled with shooting, going 6-of-18 from the field. It’s the fifth time in the last seven games Banchero has shot under 40 percent on field goal attempts. The Magic have four games in Week 10, starting with a date with the Warriors on Monday.

Having last recorded a double-double on November 4, Banchero posted his first triple-double of the season on Thursday. He didn’t bring much to the table defensively, but the overall efficiency was good, with Banchero committing only two turnovers. Field-goal percentage has been the biggest issue for Banchero when it comes to fantasy value, making him a better option in points leagues than category leagues. That said, Saturday’s game against the Jazz is set up to be a good one for Banchero.

While Banchero still has some work to do from a conditioning standpoint, Saturday’s production was the best for him since returning from a strained groin. He’s scored at least 20 points in 10 of the 16 games he’s played this season, but Banchero is ranked just outside the top-150 in eight-cat formats over the past week. With Franz Wagner (ankle) out for a few more weeks, the Magic will need Banchero’s production even more. Orlando’s Week 9 schedule isn’t suitable for fantasy basketball, as they play two games, but that may help Banchero as he works to get his groove back.

Playing in his second game back from a lengthy layoff, Banchero saw his playing time rise from 20 to 24 minutes. He was an inefficient 4-of-11 from the field, and he’s 7-of-19 for 25 total points across his last two outings. Banchero still looks like he’s ramping up and shaking off the rust, so fantasy managers should be patient with him.

Banchero played only 20 minutes in his first game in nearly a month. Expect to see the 23-year-old power forward’s minutes to continue to increase as he gets back in the swing of things. Tristan da Silva played 25 minutes on Friday, but is a candidate to lose minutes with Banchero inching closer to a full workload.

Banchero haș been out since November 14, missing the Magic’s last 10 games. With the 23-year-old power forward back in the lineup, expect Tristan da Silva to return to a bench role. Banchero could be on a minutes restriction in his first game back.

Banchero has missed Orlando’s last ten games since straining his groin during a November 14 win over the Knicks. Tristan da Silva has filled in admirably in the Magic star’s absence, but he’ll be headed to the bench whenever Banchero is cleared to play. There may be a minutes restriction at play once Paolo is available, so da Silva will still have value in deep leagues.

Banchero will miss a seventh straight game, which means Tristan da Silva should continue to start. The latter is worth streaming in deeper leagues, but Desmond Bane and Anthony Black have been the biggest beneficiaries of Banchero’s absence from a fantasy standpoint.

Banchero has missed Orlando’s last five games, most recently sitting out Saturday’s win over the Knicks. When asked about his star forward’s availability for Sunday, Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley said Banchero won’t be available. Tristan da Silva will continue to start until that changes, and he’s worth streaming in deep leagues.

Banchero’s streak of absences will extend to five games, which should mean a fifth straight start for Tristan da Silva, who has played well with his new opportunity. Desmond Bane has stepped up with Banchero sidelined, sporting averages of 20.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.5 triples across his last four outings.

When asked specifically about when Banchero might return, Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said, “They don’t put timelines on it. As he recovers from each session, we’ll go from there.” It sounds like Banchero is day-to-day, but it’s worth noting that there is no immediate plan for him to return this weekend.

This will be a fourth game in a row that Banchero will remain sidelined, which should mean another start for Tristan da Silva, who has played well in that role. He should continue to be rostered until Banchero returns, and it’s unclear how much longer he’ll remain out.

Sunday’s game is the last Orlando will play on its current road trip, so more should be learned about the severity of Banchero’s injury and how much more time he’ll miss early next week. As for who steps in to fill the void, that will once again be Tristan da Silva. The second-year forward was productive in Friday’s win over the Nets and should be rostered until Banchero returns.

In his own words after the game on Friday, Banchero said that he believed he avoided a serious injury, and the MRI results would back that up. While a groin strain is not great news, it’s far better than there being any sort of tear. The Magic can afford to hold Banchero out against the lowly Nets and then he will “be evaluated daily moving forward.” That means he could return on Sunday against the Rockets or, more likely, sometime next week. In the meantime, Franz Wagner will see a bigger role in the office, and Anthony Black should get more minutes off the bench.

Banchero said he hurt his groin when he leapt for a rebound and then tried to accelerate quickly. He felt soreness on a couple of trips up and down the court and decided to remove himself from the game before it got worse. “This (groin injury), I can still do movements. There just was a pain there. (Trainers) said if it was torn or anything, I wouldn’t be able to do anything. So, that’s encouraging.” The Magic have no timeline for Banchero’s injury as of yet, but they will have a better idea after the 23-year-old undergoes imaging.

Banchero suffered a strained left groin during the first half, exiting with 6:40 remaining in the second quarter. Jonathan Isaac replaced the Magic forward in the lineup to begin the third quarter, and he may be thrust into a starting role if Banchero misses time. Depending on how many minutes he’s allowed to play, Isaac could be worth a look in deep leagues. Banchero finished with four points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one blocked shot.

Banchero scored 28 points for the third time in his last five games. When he’s shooting above 50 percent from the field and taking a lot of free throws, the 22-year-old power forward can score points in bunches. Banchero has been close to a top-100 player in nine category leagues this year. He’ll be back in action on Wednesday against the Knicks.

After the Celtics limited Banchero to 15 points on 4-of-10 shooting on Friday, the Magic forward was far more assertive in Sunday’s rematch. While the approach did not result in an Orlando victory, Banchero’s 10 free-throw attempts were a positive. He’s closing in on top-100 value in nine-cat formats, and he’s ranked within the top-75 in eight-cat. Banchero hasn’t always been the best player to use an early-round pick on in category leagues, but he can change that this season. Orlando plays four games during Week 4, starting with Portland on Monday.

Banchero went 0-for-4 from beyond the arc but still finished just two assists shy of a triple-double. Orlando’s perimeter struggles continued, shooting 25 percent (5-of-20) from deep in the first half and falling behind by 17 at the break. The 23-year-old franchise cornerstone has underwhelmed early on relative to fantasy managers’ lofty expectations, averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds through eight games. The Magic will attempt to turn things around on Friday against the defensively-challenged Celtics in a tasty home matchup.

Banchero and the Magic grabbed control of Saturday’s game during the second quarter, outscoring the Wizards by a 43-21 margin. The percentages may be the most significant “win” for those with the forward on their rosters, as he entered Saturday shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 71.0 percent from the foul line. Banchero’s still ranked outside the top-100 in nine-cat formats, and improving the percentages would go a long way toward changing that. Orlando plays three games during Week 3, starting with the Hawks on Tuesday.

Banchero and the Magic ended their four-game losing streak on Thursday, with the star forward finishing one rebound and one assist shy of a triple-double. The lone negative for him was the foul shooting, with Paolo making just two of his six attempts on the night. Free-throw percentage and turnovers have lowered Banchero’s value in nine-cat formats, but fantasy managers shouldn’t be too concerned with the season being just over one week old.
