It was a rough shooting night for Carrington, but he was productive in other areas to make up for it. He set a new season high for rebounds, though he had one of his lowest-scoring outings of the season. Year two hasn’t been kind to Carrington, and while he should continue to play big minutes down the stretch of this season, he hasn’t been productive enough for managers to be optimistic about his future.

After having his double-digit scoring streak end at eight games over the weekend, Carrington started a new streak on Tuesday. If there was a negative for the Wizards’ point guard from a fantasy standpoint, it’s that he recorded just one assist. At a minimum, Carrington should remain in the starting lineup until Tre Johnson can return from his sprained ankle. And even if he is used in a reserve role, playing time should not be an issue for Bub the rest of the way. He’ll be worthy of a look for the “silly season.”

With Tre Johnson (ankle) sidelined for this game, Carrington returned to the starting unit. He was able to remain productive despite some inefficiencies. This was the eighth straight game that he has hit multiple three-pointers, and he has remained a solid source of assists during this stretch. If Johnson remains out against the Kings on Sunday, Carrington should remain productive as a starter once again.

With Tre Johnson (ankle) and Khris Middleton (knee) sidelined for the second leg of this back-to-back, Carrington and Champagnie will enter the starting lineup. Both players should see a nice boost in production in increased roles.

Carrington came off the bench on Thursday, but that could change for Friday’s game against the Lakers. Tre Johnson exited after spraining his ankle during the second quarter and did not return, with Bub filling the void to begin the third quarter. All that Carrington’s final stat line lacked was a blocked shot; he’ll be worth streaming if he starts Friday night.

Carrington remained in the starting lineup for a fourth straight game, and while he was inefficient, he was able to pour in more counting stats. This time, it was the defensive production that set him apart. Carrington’s never been a great source of steals and blocks, but he was able to provide an unexpected boost in this game. Managers shouldn’t expect that to continue, but he has played 38.3 minutes per game over his last four games as a starter, which is an encouraging sign for his value.

Due to Trae Young’s continued absence, Carrington’s opportunities have not been an issue for fantasy managers. And that may make him worth the risk ahead of the “silly season.” A 39 percent shooter from the field over the past week, Carrington was considerably better than that on Monday. Add in the rebounds and assists, and Monday’s performance was a good one for the second-year guard.

Carrington returned to the starting lineup for this game with Bilal Coulibaly (back) and Khris Middleton (knee) sidelined. He was able to bounce back after struggling in Wednesday’s loss where he shot 1-of-11. In this game, he was efficient as a shooter and nearly recorded his first double-double of the season. Carrington likely won’t remain in that role consistently, but he was able to have a productive night in an increased role. He could start again in Denver on Saturday, assuming Coulibaly and Middleton weren’t both just resting on the first night of a back-to-back.

With CJ McCollum (quad) sidelined for the first time this season, Carrington entered the starting unit for Washington. It seems likely that he’ll get at least one more start on Friday against the Pelicans since the Wizards traded for Trae Young and shipped out McCollum right after the game ended. Young had been dealing with a quad injury, so Carrington should start until he is available to make his debut for the Wizards, giving him limited streaming value.

Khris Middleton sitting out the second game of a back-to-back is unsurprising, but CJ McCollum’s inclusion on the injury report may have raised some eyebrows, given recent trade rumors. Carrington and Champagnie move into the starting lineup, and both are worth streaming in deep leagues due to Washington’s lack of depth.

Carrington had a great impact on Wednesday, coming off the bench to torch the Bucks from behind the three-point line and finish as one of Washington’s top scorers. Along with the scoring and season-high in made three-pointers, the second-year guard also finished as one of Washington’s best facilitators on the night. The defensive counting stats haven’t become a consistent part of Carrington’s game yet, but if he can add a couple of stocks to his nightly lines, he could really take off in the coming years as a fantasy basketball option.

Carrington continues his emergence as one of Washington’s main scoring threats as he’s topped 14 points in five of his last six games since December 6. The 20-year-old youngster drained 4-of-6 from three-point range and shot 63.6 percent from the floor overall in this one. He’s at least worthy of a speculative roster spot in all fantasy formats until further notice. The Wizards kick off a three-game week against the Hornets on Tuesday before facing the Raptors and Grizzlies.

Carrington was ice-cold from the floor — draining just 4-of-11 shots, including 2-of-7 from three-point range — on the heels of a stellar all-around performance during Friday’s loss to the Cavaliers where he delivered 27 points, six rebounds and eight assists. The 20-year-old upstart has emerged as a viable option in deeper fantasy leagues over the past week, averaging 19 points, 6.5 rebounds and one steal over his past two games. He’s taken advantage of an uptick in scoring opportunities with several of Washington’s key contributors sidelined due to injury. He’ll attempt to keep the momentum going when the Wizards face the Spurs on Thursday in a road matchup.

Carrington tied a team-high in points on Friday and also led the Wizards in assists. He was the most productive player on the team during his 41 minutes of game action, highlighted by the five threes he tallied. The scoring and three-point marks that the second-year guard tallied were both season highs, and he’ll look to build off the performance and put together another strong one on Sunday against the Pacers.

The Wizards are without Bilal Coulibaly, Khris Middleton and Alex Sarr, with Middleton being the most recent absentee. Carrington, Champagnie and Bagley start with the latter being the best streaming option. While Carrington’s fantasy ceiling has been raised, McCollum should also have the ball in his hands plenty.

Carrington left Thursday’s matchup with Detroit after only four minutes with knee soreness, so his full practice just three days later is certainly encouraging. It doesn’t appear that he’s in danger of missing the opener against Milwaukee on October 22, but fantasy managers should still keep an eye on his status.

Carrington exited Thursday’s preseason finale after playing four minutes. He landed awkwardly after attempting to deflect a pass. The good news is that the Wizards announced the second-year guard is dealing with a sore left knee rather than a more serious issue. Washington opens the regular season on October 22 against Milwaukee. Fantasy managers should not panic and push Carrington down their draft boards, unless the Wizards provide an update that proves more serious than the initial diagnosis.

Carrington and fellow second-year Wizard Kyshawn George (11 points, two assists and one three-pointer) were the only holdovers from the lineup that started Sunday’s loss to the Raptors, as Alex Sarr, CJ McCollum and Khris Middleton all rested on Monday. Bub made the most of his limited shooting opportunities, not missing any of his three attempts from the field. George also shot well, going 3-of-6 from the field and 4-of-4 from the foul line. Carrington and George being starters make both solid late-round fantasy options, with the latter offering a slightly higher ceiling due to his defensive ability.
