The double-double streak stayed alive for Champagnie as he finished with at least 10 points and 10 rebounds for a fourth-straight game on Friday. This tied his season-high for rebounds and was his highest-scoring performance since he scored 31 points in a loss to the Knicks in December. Champagnie had a big night on the glass, with the 13 rebounds falling one shy of his season-high. The Wizards wing has recorded five double-doubles this season, and he is ranked just outside the top 100 in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. For fantasy managers whose leagues are active during Week 23, the Wizards play four games, starting with the Pacers on Tuesday. Champagnie got another start in place of Bilal Coulibaly, who is now expected to be sidelined until mid-April at the earliest with a hamstring strain. Washington may not be set on Champagnie as a starter, but as of now, he seems like the Coulibaly replacement. He wasn’t great as a starter on Tuesday (5/8/1/1/1), but he can be productive in an increased role, which makes him worth considering as an option during “silly season” as long as he is starting. Washington will wrap up the week in Denver on Saturday.

Washington is making a long-term commitment to Champagnie, who is averaging 7.5 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 50.7 percent from the field this season. The former UDFA bounced around from the Raptors, Celtics, and Heat before catching on with the Wizards in early 2024. Champagnie maintains little fantasy value at this time, but the Wizards are hoping he can become a solid three-and-D wing as he hits his prime.
