The Nets will finish the season without their starting frontcourt, as Clowney and Claxton remain out. E.J. Liddell and Trevon Scott started Friday’s loss to the Bucks and should do the same on Sunday, with the latter logging 41 minutes.

The Nets will be without most of their usual starters and key reserves. so Brooklyn will have to go deep down the bench to find available options at power forward and center. E.J. Liddell and Chaney Johnson could be the next men up in the rotation.

Thursday will mark the third consecutive missed game for Claxton, who did not play in either of Brooklyn’s recent wins over Milwaukee and Washington. In his absence, rookie Trevon Scott could potentially make his second career start as the regular season nears its conclusion.

Claxton will miss a second straight game, which should allow Chaney Johnson to start at center once again. Johnson only played 21 minutes on Sunday, which is too limited of a role for him to be worth streaming.

Claxton is dealing with a sore right hand and will not play on Sunday. His absence frees up minutes for Josh Minott and Chaney Johnson, but both are risky plays due to the unpredictable nature of head coach Jordi Fernandez’s rotations.

Claxton played 25 minutes in Friday’s defeat, which is better for fantasy managers than not having him at all. The limitations placed on veteran players by some lottery-bound teams in the latter stages of the season are a good argument for ending fantasy seasons earlier than Week 23. Claxton has not exceeded 25 minutes since March 7, and he probably won’t on Sunday against the Wizards, either.

To no one’s surprise, Claxton and Clowney have been upgraded to available after getting a probable designation on Thursday. Expect the pair to handle their normal workloads against Atlanta.

While Claxton and Clowney are on the Nets’ initial injury report for Friday, both are considered probable. With Danny Wolf (ankle) still out, Brooklyn would likely rely on players such as Chaney Johnson, Josh Minott and even E.J. Liddell if their two starters are unable to go. And which reserve forwards play solid minutes has seemingly changed from game to game, making Minott and Johnson challenging players to trust in most leagues.

Claxton shot 80 percent from the field and was solid on the glass, providing good value in those categories. However, he logged 23 minutes and has not played 30 or more minutes in a game since February 24. Given where the Nets are in the standings, that’s unlikely to change between now and the end of the regular season. While Claxton is not a player who should be dropped in all leagues, fantasy managers in 12-team formats who need more production for Sunday’s action need to seek alternatives.

Claxton sat out Sunday, but he’ll be available for the second leg of Brooklyn’s back-to-back set. Claxton should see significant work in the frontcourt, especially since Day’Ron Sharpe (thumb) has also been ruled out.

Claxton will sit out the first game of the Hawks’ west coast trip, leaving a sizable hole in the Nets’ starting lineup. With Noah Clowney also out, Josh Minott and Chaney Johnson will figure prominently in the rotation on Sunday.

Claxton returned to the Nets’ lineup on Monday after sitting out Saturday’s loss to the 76ers. While he did record his first double-double since February 9 and 11th of the season, the Nets’ center was limited to 20 minutes. That’s the concern regarding Claxton. If available, his minutes will take a hit, as he’s played 28 minutes or fewer in each of his last nine appearances. Claxton did produce a solid stat line on Monday, but the fantasy upside for the rest of the season is limited.

Claxton will get Saturday off, and with Day’Ron Sharpe done for the season, multiple streaming options could emerge. Noah Clowney and Danny Wolf are at the top of the list, as they’re both starters, while Josh Minott had one of the best games of his career in Thursday’s loss to the Hawks.

Claxton was held out of Sunday’s loss to the Cavaliers, with Day’Ron Sharpe replacing him in the starting lineup. With Claxton on track to return on Tuesday, Sharpe would be asked to come off the bench. While his fantasy value takes a hit, those who have added Sharpe should hold onto him.

A sprained right thumb will keep Claxton out for the Nets’ final game of Week 18. Day’Ron Sharpe has been the replacement in the starting lineup on previous days when Claxton was unavailable, and he is worth streaming as a spot starter.

Claxton is dealing with a sprained right thumb, casting some doubt on his availability for Sunday’s game. If he’s unable to go, the Nets will turn to Day’Ron Sharpe to fill the void. While this would not be an easy matchup, the opportunity to start raises Sharpe’s fantasy ceiling.

Claxton’s production was limited on Friday, as he failed to record any defensive stats in the 37-point defeat. Add in the lackluster rebounding production, and this was a challenging night for those who have Claxton rostered. And it was worse for those who had hopped onto the Day’Ron Sharpe (2/5/3) bandwagon, as he played 15 minutes and shot 1-of-7 from the field. The Nets’ bigs will look to bounce back on Sunday against the Cavaliers.

Claxton may not have done much on the glass or as a shot-blocker, but he provided excellent value in the assist and steal categories on Tuesday. The nine helpers were the most in a game for him since December 6, when Clax dished out ten as part of a triple-double against the Pelicans. And Claxton’s three steals matched his total in his six prior appearances in February. Injury management nights are a concern for fantasy managers, especially with a back-to-back on Thursday and Friday on the horizon. That said, Claxton can provide value when on the floor.

Claxton will start after missing Friday’s loss to the Thunder, which was Brooklyn’s second game in as many nights. While his return pushes Day’Ron Sharpe to the bench, Claxton will be under a minutes restriction. Fantasy managers who added Sharpe should hold onto him.

Claxton did not play in Friday’s loss to the Thunder, which was Brooklyn’s second game in as many nights. His return to the Nets’ lineup will push Day’Ron Sharpe to the bench. Those who streamed Sharpe should consider holding onto him, as he has provided solid deep-league value recently, whether he starts or comes off the bench.

Claxton missed Brooklyn’s last game before the All-Star break with a hip injury, but an ankle injury will keep him out for the first game after the break. With Claxton sidelined, Day’Ron Sharpe should join the starting lineup, and he offers high upside for “silly season.” Fantasy managers in need of big man stats should add Sharpe immediately.

Before Monday, Claxton had gone 21 straight games without a double-double, the longest dry spell of his NBA career. The Nets center ended that unfortunate streak against the Bulls, leading all players in points and rebounds. Over the past month, he’s averaged 6.5 rebounds per game, which takes away from the value that fantasy managers in free-throw percentage punt builds usually gain from rostering him. The Nets complete the pre-break portion of their schedule on Wednesday against the Pacers, which could be another big night for Claxton.

Claxton hasn’t done much scoring recently, failing to crack double figures in four of his last five outings. However, he has 15 assists over his last two games and has recorded at least five in 16 games this season. By comparison, Claxton had four such games the entirety of the 2024-25 season. Claxton has been a top-100 player over the past two weeks.

Claxton is averaging career-highs in points and assists, with the latter category being more surprising. The Nets’ center, who entered Monday averaging 4.1 assists per game, has recorded four or more in six of his last seven appearances. Unfortunately, Claxton has shot 40 percent from the foul line over the past two weeks, which limits his value in roster builds where that category is not being punted.

After missing two games for personal reasons, Claxton was on a minutes restriction for Wednesday’s loss to the Magic. For that reason, he was brought off the bench with Day’Ron Sharpe remaining in the starting lineup. Claxton will return to the lineup on Friday, bumping Sharpe to the bench.
