Connaughton has not played more than six minutes in any of the four games he’s played since returning from a strained calf that sidelined him for nearly a month. Even if he’s available on Wednesday, there’s no need to consider rostering him in fantasy leagues.

After missing almost a month, Connaughton will be available to suit up off the bench for Charlotte. The veteran wing has played a minimal role this season. Tidjane Salaun and Josh Green may lose a couple minutes with Connaughton back, but that isn’t guaranteed and won’t impact fantasy basketball regardless.

Connaughton had no points in six minutes off the bench before leaving with a calf injury. The 32-year-old shooting guard was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game. We’ll have another update when more is known about the injury, but Connaughton isn’t worth rostering in standard fantasy leagues at this point in his career.

Connaughton exercised his $9.4 million player option for next season within the last two weeks. With the Bucks in a precarious position as far as the salary cap is concerned, Milwaukee is sending two future second-round picks in 2031 and 2032 to offload his contract. Connaughton will remain in a bench role with the Hornets and doesn’t figure to impact fantasy basketball much at all next year.

Connaughton’s player option was worth approximately $9.4 million, likely a higher price tag than what he would have commanded as an unrestricted free agent. Injuries limited the Bucks wing to 41 games this season, and he averaged 5.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.6 three-pointers in 14.7 minutes. Outside of his 43-point explosion in Milwaukee’s regular season finale, Connaughton did not impact fantasy basketball this season, and that’s unlikely to change in 2025-26.

Having been passed in the rotation by AJ Green (6/3/4 with two three-pointers in 19 minutes), one can argue that Connaughton desperately needed a day like Sunday, regardless of the strength of the two teams on the court. Not only did he establish a new career-high point total, but this was also his first game with at least 25 points. Connaughton shot over 50 percent from the field and was also productive in the rebound, assist and steals categories. His role in Milwaukee’s first-round series against the Pacers will likely be limited, but Sunday’s effort should boost Connaughton’s confidence.

Connaughton did not play in Sunday’s win over the Pelicans, but his absence did not impact fantasy basketball. Pete Nance played 14 minutes off the bench, but that had more to do with Giannis Antetokounmpo being out than Connaughton.

Connaughton has been downgraded to out for Sunday’s game, meaning the Bucks will have one less option off the bench. While his absence could result in Andre Jackson Jr. playing rotation minutes, there is little to gain from rostering the second-year wing out of UConn.

Connaughton has missed 10 of the last 11 games. The 32-year-old small forward is at the back of the Bucks’ rotation when healthy. His availability doesn’t significantly impact fantasy basketball either way.
