Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said after Sunday’s win over the Pacers that he expected Curry to play on Tuesday, and the superstar guard has been removed from the injury report. How much he’ll play remains to be seen, but his return is great news for the Warriors and for fantasy managers who have him rostered. Brandin Podziemski and Quinten Post are potential options to head to the bench, with the latter still having standard league value if he’s moved into a reserve role.

Curry has missed the Warriors’ last three games due to illness, but he was on the bench Sunday night and appeared to be in good spirits. Following the 114-83 victory, Kerr gave Warriors fans and fantasy managers some more good news, revealing that he expects Curry to be available on Tuesday. That matchup is the first of two games in as many nights for the Warriors, who visit the Spurs on Wednesday. Quinten Post and Brandin Podziemski are the two players to watch for who will move to the bench when Curry returns. Both will remain in the rotation, but the latter offers a higher ceiling when used in a reserve role.

Sunday’s game will be the third that Curry has missed due to illness. Moses Moody has been the replacement in the starting lineup and should retain that role until Curry is available to return.

This will be a second straight absence for Curry. Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green were also out for the Warriors’ last game, which allowed Will Richard, Moses Moody, Quinten Post and Brandin Podziemski to all start. The lineup will look different with Green probable and Butler questionable, but there will be at least one extra spot in the starting unit with Curry out.

Curry has been dealing with a cold recently, but still managed to play 34 minutes on Tuesday. While he left the door open to playing on Wednesday, Kerr slammed it shut during his postgame media availability. “I don’t care what the doctors say ... I’ll make the decision right now. He’s not going to play tomorrow,” Kerr stated. With Curry unavailable, Brandin Podziemski could potentially move into the starting lineup. Moses Moody is another possibility, but his spot in the rotation may depend on Jimmy Butler’s availability. Butler did not return in the second half due to a lingering back issue.

With Jimmy Butler (back) being a shell of himself before exiting Tuesday’s game at the half, Curry had to shoulder even more of the offensive workload. He surpassed 20 field-goal attempts for the fourth time this season and is 17-of-46 over his last two games. Curry recorded a complete stat line, but the production was limited outside of points and three-pointers. Unfortunately for the Warriors, they could not put away Tuesday’s game until late, with Curry playing 34 minutes. They visit the Kings on Wednesday, so taking care of the Suns quickly would have been beneficial to get Curry and Draymond Green (2/6/8/1/1) additional rest. And with Curry revealing after the win that he’s been dealing with a cold, he should be considered questionable for Wednesday.

Curry may have led the Warriors in scoring, but this was a subpar night for the future Hall of Fame guard. In addition to the low field-goal percentage, he committed five turnovers and shot 4-of-16 from beyond the arc. However, even with this poor showing, Curry is providing top-10 value in eight-cat formats and top-15 in nine-cat. The Warriors play four games during Week 3, starting with the Suns on Tuesday, and it would be unsurprising if Curry bounced back in a big way.

Castle did not record a season-high point total on Thursday, but one can argue that this was his best all-around performance. The reigning Rookie of the Year shot over 50 percent from the field and recorded a complete stat line while committing a season-low two turnovers. In San Antonio’s first four games, Castle was responsible for at least five turnovers in each. His role will change once De’Aaron Fox recovers fully from his hamstring injury. Still, the key for Castle will be efficiency, regardless of who’s available.

Curry led the Warriors in scoring on Thursday, getting back over the 20-point mark after totaling 35 in the previous two games. He’s averaging 27.0 points per game through six games and providing top-10 value in nine-cat formats. And Curry has done this despite his playing time decreasing slightly. He’s averaging 31.1 minutes per game, which would be Curry’s lowest average since the 2011-12 season (not counting the 2019-20 season in which he played five games). With the Warriors’ goal being to ensure that Curry’s healthy and fresh for the stretch run, some fantasy managers may be concerned. There’s no need to be.

While fantasy managers may not have been thrilled with Curry’s final stat line, the Warriors were probably over the moon that he only needed to play 26 minutes in the second game of a back-to-back. The sharpshooter was efficient, and the assists and steals will undoubtedly boost those competing in category leagues. Golden State hits the road for a two-game road trip, finishing Week 2 with games against the Bucks and Pacers.

Father Time does not appear to have a hold on Curry just yet. On the second night of a back-to-back, the former league MVP dazzled from beyond the arc and scored efficiently overall before finishing with his second straight game of at least 35 points. Curry’s production came in just 27 minutes of play, likely due to the large deficit the Warriors sustained deep into the second half. Nonetheless, the veteran guard was productive on both ends of the floor and logged another strong fantasy basketball performance.

Curry got hot like only he can late in this game. He scored 15 points in the fourth quarter, which included a game-tying triple with 22 seconds left to force overtime, before adding seven more points in the extra period. His first outing of the season was fine, but this is the type of performance that we’ve seen so often from Curry that solidifies him as one of the all-time greats. He’ll look to stay hot in Portland on Friday on the second night of a back-to-back.

Due to a 2-of-10 night from beyond the arc, Curry’s field-goal percentage took a hit in Tuesday’s season opener. However, he frequently visited the foul line, which boosted the veteran guard’s point tally. Add in a complete stat line, including three steals, and there wasn’t much for fantasy managers to complain about regarding Curry’s performance. Last season, Curry only had five games in which he recorded at least three steals, so Tuesday’s effort should not be considered the norm.

Curry logged 30 minutes in the Warriors’ final tune-up game before the regular season begins. In his time on the court, he was productive from beyond the arc, as usual, and made contributions as a facilitator along the way. The four-time NBA champion still possesses game-changing potential on the offensive end, going into his 17th season. He’ll likely be a popular pick in the first couple of rounds of fantasy drafts.

Curry excelled in what was his highest usage game of the preseason. The 37-year-old point guard dropped 28 points in 27 minutes. He made four three-pointers and was 12-of-13 from the free throw line. Curry looked ready to go for the season opener next week. While his durability is starting to become a concern at his age, Curry makes for a solid second round pick in fantasy drafts.

Unsurprisingly, Curry is officially out for Game 5 due to the hamstring injury he suffered during Game 1. Game 6, which will be played on May 18, was a far more realistic possibility for the Warriors’ superstar guard. Buddy Hield will likely remain in the starting lineup, with Jonathan Kuminga taking on a more prominent role off the bench. Those two and Brandin Podziemski will need to be at their best if the Warriors are to extend this series, which they trail three games to one.

Game 3 on Saturday was the second straight contest Curry has missed after straining his left hamstring during Game 1. While he did some shooting and rode the exercise bike during Saturday’s workout, the Warriors guard has yet to do anything at full speed. Given the scheduling in the second round, the hope is that Golden State can pick up a win and extend the series to Game 6, which falls on May 18, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. With Curry sidelined, Jonathan Kuminga entered the rotation, finishing Game 3 with 30 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three three-pointers in 36 minutes off the bench.

Curry is sitting out his second game in a row Saturday with the first hamstring injury he’s ever dealt with in his 16-year career. The 37-year-old point guard suffered the injury in Game 1, which the Warriors were still able to win. According to Charania, the Warriors are hoping they can just win one more game to push the series to at least a Game 6, which would be the earliest Curry could return. Golden State could benefit from a unique scheduling quirk which includes four days between Games 5 and 6 of this series. Game 6 falls on May 18, which would give Curry well over a week off and also shows how serious his injury is given that’s the earliest he could potentially return.

No surprise here as Curry was always a long shot to make it back for Game 2 after leaving Game 1 with hamstring injury. While there has been a report that the 37-year-old point guard is expected to miss a week, there is no firm timetable for his return. The Warriors will go big with their starting lineup for Game 2 with center Quinten Post entering the lineup in Curry’s absence.

Curry suffered a Grade 1 strain of his left hamstring during Tuesday’s Warriors’ series-opening win over the Timberwolves. While ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Wednesday that the guard is expected to miss at least one week, Curry refused to give a target date when asked about his injury on Thursday. “No,” Curry said, according to The Athletic. “This is new, and from all that I’m learning about how quickly you can get back, there has to be a healing process. It’s just the way the body works. You can’t accelerate more than the body is telling you. It’ll be one of those after a week, really re-evaluate it every day to understand when it’s safe just to even think about playing.” This is the first hamstring injury of Curry’s career, so he’s in uncharted territory. Jimmy Butler, Brandin Podziemski and Buddy Hield will have added importance within the Warriors’ offense, and the latter has shot 14-of-19 from three in his last two games.

Shams notes that Curry has already been ruled out for Game 2 on Thursday, but the week timeline means he’ll miss Game 3 on Saturday and Game 4 on Monday with a chance to return for Game 5 on Wednesday. This is the first muscle strain of Curry’s career, so how quickly he returns will depend on how he responds to rehab. Fortunately for Golden State, the team came away with a win on the road in Game 1, and two of the next three games will be at home, giving the Warriors a chance to stay alive while their superstar PG is out. Expect Buddy Hield to step into a much larger role on offense while Curry is sidelined. Hield has totaled 57 points across his last two games while stroking a blistering 14-of-18 shots from beyond the arc.

Kerr relayed that Curry was “crushed” after being forced from the game due to injury. While Kerr described Curry as day-to-day, he also mentioned that the 37-year-old point guard will undergo an MRI on Wednesday. More will be known about the severity of his injury at that time. With the Warriors taking Game 1 on the road Tuesday, Kerr added that it’s hard to imagine Curry being available for Game 2 on Thursday. With Game 3 Saturday at Golden State, Curry could have more time to recover from the injury.

Curry is said to be dealing with a left hamstring strain. He had 13 points, one rebound and one assist before heading to the locker room. The 37-year-old point guard grabbed at the back of his left thigh after collecting a rebound in the first half. It’s unclear how bad the injury is or what Curry’s availability might be over the course of the rest of the series at this time.

For those who expected Curry to come out “guns blazing” in Sunday’s Game 7, they were surprised. He essentially took a back seat in the first three quarters, scoring 14 points in the final frame to help put away the Rockets. It helps when you have Jimmy Butler on the roster, and Buddy Hield goes off for a playoff career-high nine three-pointers. Next up for Curry and the Warriors are the Timberwolves, with Game 1 on Tuesday in Minneapolis.

After not waiting long into the second half of Game 5 to pull the plug, Warriors coach Steve Kerr played his key options heavy minutes on Friday in hopes of ending the series. Unfortunately for him, the move didn’t work, despite the efforts of Curry and Jimmy Butler. They combined to score 56 points, but the other three starters combined 13 on 5-of-17 shooting. The Rockets have used multiple approaches to defending Curry, and while the numbers have remained, his efficiency has taken a hit in the last two games. He’ll look to rebound in Game 7 on Sunday.

This was a tough night for the entire team, which led to head coach Steve Kerr benching his starters halfway through the third quarter and Curry failing to reach 20 points for a second straight game. The Warriors’ reserves ended up making the score look a little better, but the Rockets dominated the first half. Houston ended up playing their starters more than the Warriors to avoid the bench comeback, which was exactly what Kerr was hoping for. We’ll see if the extra rest helps Golden State in Game 6 on Friday, where Curry will look to get back on track.
