Davis, who was initially questionable for Monday’s game, will miss a sixth straight contest with a strained left calf. With Dereck Lively II also out and Daniel Gafford being a game-time decision, the Mavericks may be forced to rely on Moussa Cissé in the post. He played well in Saturday’s win over the Wizards, but Giannis Antetokounmpo is a different kind of challenge for the undrafted rookie out of Memphis.

Davis, who was also questionable ahead of Saturday’s win over the Wizards, has not appeared in a game since October 29. If he’s able to play on Monday, Max Christie or P.J. Washington could be pushed to the bench to make room for the Mavericks forward/center. Davis will likely be on a minutes restriction once cleared to return.

Davis will miss a fifth straight game, while Daniel Gafford is still questionable. Gafford will start if available, but AD’s absence will open up minutes for PJ Washington, Naji Marshall and Moussa Cisse.

Davis missed Friday night’s game against the Grizzlies with Daniel Gafford getting the start at center and P.J, Washington at power forward. Davis is questionable for Saturday, which at least gives him a chance of not missing his fifth game in a row. Washington will continue to have fantasy value while the Mavericks deal with frontcourt injuries.

Davis isn’t ready to return just yet, with Friday’s game being the fourth he’s missed with a calf injury. Daniel Gafford will continue to start at center, with P.J. Washington receiving the nod at power forward. Washington should be rostered in most fantasy leagues due to his improved production and Dallas’s lack of healthy frontcourt players.

Davis is still expected to remain out against Memphis, but doubtful is a better listing than immediately being ruled out. Davis is inching closer to a return after missing the Mavericks’ last three games. Daniel Gafford should remain the starter at center.

Davis left Wednesday’s win over the Pacers during the first quarter with what was described at the time as lower left leg soreness. He has since been diagnosed with a low-grade left calf strain and will miss at least two games: Saturday vs. Detroit in Mexico City and Monday at Houston. With Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford also dealing with injuries, the Mavericks must rely on a combination of Dwight Powell and smaller lineups that don’t include a legitimate center. Powell isn’t a great fantasy option, but he’s worth considering in deep leagues due to the Mavericks’ lack of healthy choices.

AD left Wednesday’s win over the Pacers early due to left leg soreness, and the injury will likely cost him at least one game. P.J. Washington is the most likely beneficiary of Davis’ absence from a fantasy perspective, and he should be picked up wherever available. Washington is rostered in only 41% of Yahoo! leagues and should be a popular streaming option on Saturday.

Davis played seven first-quarter minutes before exiting with a sore lower left leg. It’s unknown if this issue is connected to the bilateral Achilles tendinopathy he’s been dealing with, but the problem is severe enough to sideline AD for the rest of the night. Dwight Powell started the third quarter, but is only worth adding if Davis, Dereck Lively and Daniel Gafford are out for an extended period of time.

Davis, who has been dealing with bilateral Achilles tendinopathy, exited Wednesday’s game during the first quarter due to lower left leg soreness. Dwight Powell replaced him in the lineup, and the veteran would have to log heavy minutes if Davis cannot return. Due to injury, the Mavericks are already without Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford.

Davis was initially probable for Wednesday’s game, so the status upgrade was expected. With Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford still out, AD will serve as the starting center for another game. Due to how depleted the Pacers are in the frontcourt, Davis could be in for a huge night.

Bilateral Achilles tendinopathy is the reason for Davis’ appearance on the injury report for Wednesday night. However, the probable tag suggests he will be cleared. With Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford considered doubtful, AD will likely serve as the starting center, as he did in Monday’s loss to Oklahoma City.

Davis recorded his second straight double-double, but it simply wasn’t enough as Oklahoma City’s smothering defense limited Dallas to just 37 percent from the floor and only 94 points. They shot just 30 percent (12-of-39) from three-point range in the low-scoring affair.

Davis has opened the season with three consecutive double-doubles. The lone negative on Sunday was his foul shooting, with the Mavericks forward/center making just three of his eight attempts. Through three games, Davis is 18-of-26 from the foul line, which works out to 69.2 percent. He is a career 79.4 percent shooter from the stripe, so fantasy managers should not be concerned about this category long-term. Davis and the Mavericks play three games during Week 2, starting with the Thunder on Monday.

Davis was more efficient in this game than he was in the season opener, but it wasn’t enough for the Mavs to get their first win of the season. Davis is going to be dominant in the box score this season, so it isn’t a surprise that he has been able to stuff the stat sheet in each of their first two games. However, he may need to take things to another level to help them get in the win column when they take on the Raptors on Sunday to close out this week.

Davis recorded a solid stat line in Wednesday’s season opener, even if the field-goal percentage was lower than many hoped. However, fans and fantasy managers will remember how powerless he and Dereck Lively II (4/2/3) looked in their attempts to defend Victor Wembanyama. Lively only played 10 minutes due to foul trouble, and attempts to go small didn’t work for the Mavericks either. The good news for Davis and company is that the NBA isn’t loaded with Wembanyama-like figures; don’t be surprised if AD has a big night when Dallas hosts the Wizards on Friday.

Davis had a well-rounded performance on Monday in his third preseason game as a Maverick. He recorded preseason-highs in minutes and points while finishing as the game’s leading scorer. Offensively, the veteran forward showcased his versatility by converting efficiently both inside and outside the arc throughout the contest. At the same time, his pair of blocks and steals are precisely what have helped make him a high-ceiling fantasy basketball option throughout his career. Davis should be in line for a stellar fantasy season.

Davis underwent surgery during the offseason to repair a detached retina that he played through last season. According to the Mavericks’ forward/center, his doctors have mandated that he wear protective eyewear for the rest of his career. Whether or not that sticks remains to be seen, but this should not dissuade fantasy managers from selecting Davis in the first round of their drafts. Even with Kyrie Irving (knee) beginning the season on the sideline, AD stands to provide elite fantasy value when on the floor.

Stein’s report indicates that AD participated in five-on-five, and it’s believed to be his first live practice since undergoing the surgery in July. Davis certainly appears to be on pace to be available for training camp despite previous reports that it was unclear. Managers that are planning to select him in the first round of their drafts shouldn’t have any concern about this eye ailment at this time.

While Davis missed a significant amount of time last season due to a strained adductor, he was also playing through a detached retina that would require offseason surgery. And with Mavericks training camp scheduled to open on September 30, there’s no guarantee that the team’s prized power forward will be a full go. “Based on everything I’ve been told, he’s not fully back on the court yet,” Stein said on September 10. “He can’t be fully back on the court, yet. When practices start on September 30, will AD even be ready to practice at that point? We don’t know that yet.” While Dallas won’t begin its regular season until October 23, the prospect of potentially being without Davis when Kyrie Irving (knee) is already out has to be concerning. Davis can offer top-five fantasy value when healthy, but managers are taking a considerable risk in selecting him due to his injury history.

Davis suffered the detached retina last season, according to Charania. After undergoing the procedure, Davis is expected to be healthy for training camp. The oft-injured power forward exited the Mavericks regular season finale early with a noticeable limp. Davis is in line to be the Mavericks’ centerpiece with Kyrie Irving sidelined to begin next season.

Davis wrapped up the season on a high note individually, though it wasn’t a great performance for the rest of his team. His 40 points were the most he has had in a game since the Lakers traded him in January. Unfortunately, he exited this game with a little over eight minutes remaining and didn’t get to add to his scoring total. The team hasn’t released an official injury update, but he was limping off the floor. He’ll have the offseason to recover, and there is no reason to think he won’t be ready to start the 2025-26 season.

Davis was listed as probable Wednesday against the Kings, but ultimately played 35 minutes and had 27 points in the win. The 32-year-old is once again listed as probable with the adductor injury that sidelined him earlier this season. Davis figures to be available as the Mavericks battle the Grizzlies for the eighth seed in the Western Conference on Friday.

Davis was impactful on both ends as the Mavericks rolled to a victory in Sacramento. He and Klay Thompson combined to shoot 8-of-9 from the field in the second quarter, which Dallas won by a 44-19 margin. Davis was also solid as a rebounder and shot blocker, and looked healthy in 35 minutes on the court. Next up for Dallas is Memphis on Friday, with the winner earning the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Davis was listed as probable on the initial injury report, so his status being upgraded was expected. Due to the adductor injury suffered in his Mavericks debut, Davis missed the two meetings with Sacramento. He’ll need to shoulder a heavy offensive workload on Wednesday as Dallas looks to keep its season alive.

Davis was held out of Sunday’s regular season finale against the Grizzlies, as the Mavericks were locked into the 9/10 Play-In tournament game. The probable tag suggests he should be back in the lineup on Wednesday as Dallas looks to keep its season alive. Davis’s return will push Max Christie to the bench, as the Mavericks went small on Sunday.

The Mavericks are locked into the ninth-seed in the West, regardless of what happens on Sunday. Davis and Washington will get the day off ahead of next week’s matchup with the Kings, and they’ll need to win two games to reach the postseason. Daniel Gafford is not on the initial injury report, but fantasy managers should not expect to see him play too many minutes.

AD may have struggled in his first game against his former team when the Mavericks hosted the Lakers on Wednesday, but that didn’t carry over into Friday’s performance whatsoever. He entered halftime on quadruple-double watch after contributing 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and six blocks in the first half. Unfortunately, he only added one more block in the second half, and he only played 30 minutes, though that can be attributed to the lopsided score. Davis should be in for another big night in the season finale in Memphis on Sunday before they take on the Kings in the Play-In Tournament next week.

After sitting out Friday’s loss to the Clippers, Davis was back in the lineup for Saturday’s rematch. While the points and rebounds were solid, his efficiency left something to be desired. Not only did Davis shoot below 50 percent from the field, but he was also responsible for six turnovers. Over the past two weeks, he has been a ninth-round player in eight-cat formats, ranking just outside the top-100 according to Basketball Monster. For Davis managers whose leagues run through Week 23, the Mavericks play three games, all on the busiest days of the week (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday).
