Anthony Edwards’ return from a strained hamstring did not impact DiVincenzo much on Wednesday, as he remained in his usual spot in the starting lineup. And the “Big Ragu” did not disappoint, finishing a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. DiVincenzo, who’s rostered in 40 percent of Yahoo! leagues, has been close to a top-50 player in nine-cat formats. Locked into a starting role, he should be rostered in a higher percentage of fantasy leagues.

A fixture in the starting lineup since the beginning of the season, DiVincenzo has hit double figures in six straight games. Monday’s performance was the best of the bunch, with the Timberwolves guard recording his first 20-point game. Add in the rebounds, assists and three-pointers, and DiVincenzo had the kind of night that fantasy managers look for. Monday’s victory moved Minnesota to 2-2 without Anthony Edwards, as he continues to work his way back from a strained right hamstring.

DiVincenzo made his second start at the point guard position on Friday and found greater individual success than in the season opener. He left his mark from beyond the arc against the Lakers en route to scoring in double figures for the first time this season. He also doubled his assists from opening night and picked up a pair of steals along the way. DiVincenzo’s production could increase if more reps at the position throughout the season prove valuable to his development.

The lineup decision means veteran Mike Conley will come off the bench, but according to Haynes, he will “remain a vital piece.” DiVincenzo’s fantasy value gets a boost with this announcement, and he’s still widely available on many waiver wires.

McDaniels is in the starting lineup after sitting out Minnesota’s preseason opener against the Timberwolves, bumping Naz Reid to the bench. The other change is DiVincenzo, who steps in with Mike Conley unavailable. The change to the perimeter means Anthony Edwards will be asked to do more playmaking for others in addition to his usual scoring. With Conley turning 38 later this month, DiVincenzo’s playing time may increase during the regular season, even if he remains in a reserve role.

DiVincenzo was limited last season by a case of turf toe on his left great toe, missing six weeks in the middle of the season as a result. However, while he did decide to pass up the opportunity to play for Italy at EuroBasket to rest the toe, the Timberwolves guard also decided against surgery. “I had the option to get surgery. I elected not to,” DiVincenzo said Monday. “Surgery would have put me out, I think, five, six months, and we put a plate in the shoe to restrict that mobility of my toe. … Because now the season ended, I pulled the plate out of my shoe. I want to get back to being my normal self, and so it’s all precautionary. There’s nothing to worry about to start the season.” DiVincenzo’s role may expand this season, whether he starts or comes off the bench, as starting point guard Mike Conley turns 38 later this month and the Timberwolves lost Nickeil Alexander-Walker in free agency.

DiVincenzo’s first season in Minnesota ended with a thud, despite the solid rebound tally. It was expected that his fantasy value would take a hit after being traded to the Timberwolves, as evidenced by the Yahoo! ADP of 106. DiVincenzo finished ranked outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats, providing slightly higher value in the former. His value for next season will depend on what happens with fellow reserves Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Naz Reid. While NAW will be an unrestricted free agent, Reid has a player option. If one (or both) leaves, that would raise DiVincenzo’s fantasy ceiling, especially with starting guard Mike Conley not getting any younger.

After disappointing during the first three games of the Western Conference Finals, DiVincenzo seeing two triples go down late in Game 3 may have set the stage for Game 4. He was huge on Monday, with the 21 points being the most he’s scored in a game this postseason. Minnesota’s reserves combined to score 64 points, keeping them in the game despite Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle struggling offensively. In addition to needing their stars to be better in Game 5, Minnesota will need another good night from DiVincenzo to keep their season alive.

DiVincenzo and Reid are among five players to get suspended, along with Detroit’s Ron Holland, Marcus Sasser and Isaiah Stewart. The Wolves face the Nuggets in a primetime matchup on Tuesday, and with DiVincenzo and Reid sidelined, Jaylen Clark could see a significant boost in playing time, with Nickeil Alexander-Walker picking up some extra minutes, too.

Despite returning to the bench on Monday, DiVincenzo still played 32 minutes in the overtime defeat. The Timberwolves guard has hit double figures in 10 straight games, with the 19 points scored against the Pacers tonight his most since March 2. Even on nights when Mike Conley is available, DiVincenzo can provide reliable fantasy value. Conley played 32 minutes, finishing with nine points, three rebounds, five assists, two steals and two three-pointers.

On a night when eight Timberwolves scored in double figures, DiVincenzo shot 4-of-8 from beyond the arc and scored 17 points. He’s reached double figures in six straight games and has been a top-40 player in nine-cat formats since returning from a toe injury. DiVincenzo was a starter before his injury, but Timberwolves coach Chris Finch has decided to bring him off the bench. This approach has boosted Mike Conley’s fantasy value, as he has been an eighth-round player since February 27. Conley finished Sunday’s win with 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and three three-pointers in 23 minutes.

The Timberwolves reserves outscored their Heat counterparts by a 37-35 margin, with DiVincenzo and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (12 points, two rebounds, one steal, two blocks and three three-pointers) leading the way. Since returning from his toe injury, DiVincenzo has provided top-30 value in nine-cat formats. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, the Timberwolves guard will provide reliable fantasy value. He should be rostered in more than 72 percent of Yahoo! leagues, even with the Timberwolves only playing three games during Week 19.

With Wednesday’s game being the Timberwolves’ second in as many nights, Mike Conley (rest) will not play. DiVincenzo will move into the starting five, making his first start since returning from the mid-January toe injury that sidelined him for six weeks. That’s the only change to the starting lineup.

DiVincenzo has come off the bench in his four games since returning from the toe injury that kept him sidelined for over a month, but that hasn’t limited his production. He has averaged 14.3 points, four rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.3 steals and 4.8 threes in 24.9 minutes per game since returning. He remains on a minutes restriction, but Chris Finch said before the game that it is to make it easier to have DiVincenzo available at the end of games. Once the restriction lifts, it wouldn’t be surprising if he returned to the starting lineup.

It’s one thing for a shooter like DiVincenzo to provide excellent value in the three-point category. Not only did he hit eight triples on Sunday, but the “Big Ragu” was credited with a career-high six steals. Dealing with a case of turf toe that sidelined him for one month, DiVincenzo has been used in a reserve role in his first three games back. Mike Conley (3/1/1/2 with one three-pointer) has remained in the starting lineup, but he only played 20 minutes on Sunday. DiVincenzo doesn’t need to start to provide reliable fantasy value, especially when he plays 27 minutes (as was the case on Sunday).

DiVincenzo returned from a toe injury that kept him out for over a month Thursday. He played 26 minutes on the second night of a back-to-back on Friday against the Jazz. DiVencenzo was active as he filled up the stat sheet Friday. The 28-year-old shooting guard’s production should improve as his minutes increase the further he gets away from the injury.

Having returned from a toe injury that sidelined him for over a month on Thursday, DiVincenzo was initially questionable for Friday’s game. He’s officially available, but fantasy managers probably shouldn’t expect to see DiVincenzo surpass the 23 minutes he logged against the Lakers.

DiVincenzo logged 23 minutes in his first game back from a toe injury and there’s a decent chance he won’t play in the second leg of a back-to-back. Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander Walker could have more prominent roles a a result.

DiVincenzo suited up for the first time since January 15 and was able to turn in a solid stat line in his return. He only played 23 minutes, but he was efficient and was able to provide value from beyond the arc, as well as in the rebound and assist categories. It wasn’t quite to the level that he was producing at before the injury, but it was good to see him back on the floor. Minnesota plays on Friday, which is the second night of a back-to-back. There is a decent chance that DiVincenzo misses that game, so keep an eye on the injury report.

Having been out since January 15 with a toe injury, DiVincenzo appears on track to return at some point during the Timberwolves’ current road trip. His participation in Wednesday’s practice does not guarantee Donte will be available for Thursday’s game against the Lakers, as he is officially questionable. However, a return would give the Timberwolves another option on the perimeter, even if his minutes were restricted. Mike Conley has been DiVincenzo’s replacement in the starting lineup.
