Ja’Kobe Walter’s absence due to an illness freed up additional minutes for Toronto’s reserve wings, and Gradey took advantage. Interestingly, he attempted twice as many free throws (eight) as three-pointers (four), which rarely happened last season. Gradey averaged 6.0 three-point and 2.9 free-throw attempts per game last season and had just two games in which he attempted at least eight free throws. Due to those stats, nights like Wednesday may not become the norm for Gradey. However, the Raptors will benefit if he can remain as aggressive as he was against the Hawks.

Gradey was not part of the Raptors’ fourth-quarter rally, which was capped by a Jonathan Mogbo (8/5/3/1) layup in the final seconds. However, the third-year wing was excellent while on the court. Gradey shot the ball well from the field and was an active rebounder, which is what he’ll need to do to carve out a consistent role for himself when the starters are available. The Raptors rested their usual starters for Friday’s game, resulting in more opportunities for Gradey and the others. He isn’t a player worth drafting, but there may be streaming opportunities throughout the season, especially considering Brandon Ingram’s injury history.

While it was reported on March 10 that Gradey could do some shooting and running, updates have been scarce since. With the Raptors eliminated from postseason contention, there’s no need for the second-year guard to return. Gradey appeared in 54 games this season, averaging 14.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 2.1 three-pointers. He shot 41.0 percent from the field and 85.8 percent from the foul line. Finishing the season ranked just inside the top 200 in eight- and nine-cat formats, Gradey’s fantasy prospects for 2025-26 took a significant hit when the Raptors acquired Brandon Ingram from the Pelicans at the February trade deadline.

Nothing has changed in Dick’s timeline, and he is still set to be re-evaluated around March 18. He has missed Toronto’s last three games and will miss at least five more. Rookie Ja’Kobe Walter will continue to start in place of Dick, especially with Ochai Agbaji (ankle) still not cleared for contact.

Gradey injured his right knee during the first half of Sunday’s win over the Magic, suffering a hyperextension that resulted in a bone bruise. While there wasn’t any ligament damage, the second-year wing will miss at least two weeks before being re-evaluated. Rookie Ja’Kobe Walter started the third quarter of Sunday’s game in Gradey’s place and will be worth streaming if he retains that place in the lineup.

Dick exited early on Sunday with what the team initially said was a right knee hyperextension and sit-bone bruise. Now, he’s only listed with the bone bruise in his pelvis. It was a rough injury for Dick, who took a shot to the head and had teammate RJ Barrett fall on his leg during the same play. Ja’Kobe Walter should start in place of Dick on Tuesday and as long as he is sidelined.

Gradey was injured late in the second quarter of Sunday’s win over the Magic. On the same play, he took an inadvertent shot to the mouth as teammate RJ Barrett fell into his leg after attempting a shot. While there’s no timeline for the knee injury, the good news is that Gradey cleared concussion protocol and is simply dealing with a cut lip. If he misses time, Ja’Kobe Walter (7/4/1/1 with one three-pointer in 31 minutes) is the likely replacement in the starting lineup.

Gradey was injured late in the second quarter, as he took an inadvertent hit to the head and teammate RJ Barrett fell into his right leg on the same play. The Raptors have not said which injury is why Gradey is sidelined for the rest of the night; it’s simply that he’s being evaluated. Ja’Kobe Walter started the third quarter.
