Duren was a force in the paint on Sunday, leading all players with 16 boards while shooting an impressive percentage from the field. Add in the four “stocks,” and this was another excellent night to have the Pistons center rostered. Through ten games, of which Detroit has won eight, Duren is providing top-20 value in eight- and nine-cat formats, exceeding his Yahoo! ADP of 56. He’ll look to continue this hot start on Monday when the Pistons face the rebuilding Wizards.

On the heels of a dominant 20-point, 20-rebound performance against the Jazz, Duren once again logged a massive double-double on Friday in a Pistons victory. The fourth-year center utilized efficient shooting to reach the 30-point mark for the second time this season while collecting double-digit rebounds for the fifth time. He has made a massive leap as a scorer this year, which has been aided by improvements in volume and accuracy from the free-throw line. His strong start to the season has played a big role in Detroit’s early success.

Just three days after Duren set a career-high with 33 points against the Mavericks, he has another massive game against the Jazz on Wednesday. The 21-year-old center joined Giannis Antetokounmpo as the only players in the NBA this season with a game with at least 20 points and at least 20 rebounds. Duren continues to take on a bigger role in the Pistons’ offense with Jaden Ivey (knee) and Malik Beasley absent. He’s turning into a fantasy steal if he can maintain this level of play somehow.

Unsurprisingly, a Mavericks team playing without Anthony Davis and Dereck Lively II due to injury had no answer for Duren in Mexico City. The fourth-year center spent the entirety of his time on the offensive end in the restricted area, where he attempted all 16 of his shots. In addition to recording his third double-double in six games, Duren notched his second career 30-point game. Shooting 63.8 percent from the field and 84.6 percent from the foul line, he’s providing top-50 value in nine-cat formats, exceeding his Yahoo! ADP (56). The Pistons play four games during Week 3, starting with the Grizzlies on Monday.

Could Duren be in for a breakout season this year? The easiest path to a breakout would be an injury to Isaiah Stewart, which would mean more minutes on a regular basis for Duren. On Wednesday, the 21-year-old center played 33 minutes, though. Another way Duren could breakout is that the Pistons simply need his scoring to win games this year. The Pistons have three wins after five games. In those wins, Duren has scored at least 20 points twice and in the other game he was ejected after playing 12 minutes. With the Pistons needing points without Jaden Ivey (knee) and Malik Beasley, Duren looks like he’s ready to step up.

Duren bounced back in a major way after he was ejected in the first half of the Pistons’ win over the Rockets on Friday. The 21-year-old center had a ceiling game with 24 points and 17 rebounds. He played 28 minutes while Isaiah Stewart played 21. Duren’s fantasy value would benefit from more minutes or being more consistently active on the defensive end, but both remain to be seen.

Duren was assessed a Flagrant 2 foul during the second quarter of Friday’s contest when attempting to position himself to rebound a potential shot attempt. Engaged with Houston’s Amen Thompson, Duren swung his arm, which caused his elbow to connect with Thompson’s face. He was tossed from the game following the blow, exiting with six points in 12 minutes.

Duren’s preseason started slowly, as he was held out of the Pistons’ first two games. After logging 13 minutes in Tuesday’s loss to the Cavaliers, he played 19 on Thursday and thoroughly outplayed Wizards starting center Alex Sarr. Duren may not be a top-50 caliber player, even in free-throw percentage punt builds, but he can offer solid middle-round value in standard leagues. The concern may be playing time, as he averaged 26.1 minutes per game last season. That does more to limit Duren’s ceiling than the free throws, especially with Isaiah Stewart and Paul Reed being capable contributors off the bench.

Duren’s stat line was not as robust as it was in Detroit’s Game 2 victory, but the third-year center has played well thus far. Foul trouble cut into Duren’s minutes slightly during the second half. Paul Reed once again assumed the backup center role with Isaiah Stewart (knee) out, and he recorded four points, eight rebounds and one block in 16 minutes. Duren and Reed will remain in Detroit’s big man rotation if Stewart is unable to play in Game 4 on Sunday.

Duren played 25 minutes in Game 1, but with Isaiah Stewart (knee) sidelined for Game 2, Duren’s minutes ballooned to 37, with Paul Reed playing the other 11 minutes at center. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff couldn’t play Duren all 48 minutes, but he isn’t going to rely on Reed unless he absolutely has to. If Stewart remains out for Game 3 on Thursday in Detroit, Duren should once again play the majority of the center minutes for the Pistons.

Duren put up another double-double, his sixth in his last seven games. The 21-year-old center is closing out the regular season on a high note as he’s provided seventh-round fantasy value over the last two months of the season. Fantasy managers will certainly take that after a slow start to the season. Duren isn’t a name fantasy managers should forget heading into drafts next season.

Duren is available after sitting out Saturday’s loss to the Grizzlies. His return means Isaiah Stewart will come off the bench, with Beef Stew’s fantasy value taking a hit for those in active leagues.

Duren and Harris were held out of Saturday’s loss to the Grizzlies, with Isaiah Stewart and Dennis Schroder replacing them in the starting lineup. While Schroder’s fantasy value is impacted more by Cade Cunningham’s presence in the lineup, Beef Stew’s value will be raised if Duren cannot play, and he gets another start.

Duren will not be available for Saturday’s game, opening up a spot in the starting lineup. Isaiah Stewart, who returns from a two-game suspension, is the most likely replacement in the starting lineup. Duren’s absence also means rotation minutes for Paul Reed, who offers limited streaming value when allowed to play.

Duren is dealing with a peroneal contusion in his right leg, hence his appearance on the injury report. If he’s unable to play, the Pistons will turn to Isaiah Stewart and Paul Reed to fill the void. Stewart is returning from a two-game suspension. If Duren can play, Reed will likely fall out of the rotation.

Duren absolutely dominated the Raptors Friday with little resistance from the Toronto defense. The 21-year-old center had 21 points on 11 shots, pulled down 18 rebounds and had six assists. All without Cade Cunningham (calf) and Tobias Harris (Achilles) to take attention away from the defense. Duren also blocked four shots to cap a massive evening from the young big man. The four blocks are the most he’s had in a game since March 3 against the Jazz.

Duren recorded his 37th double-double of the season on Sunday and his 13th since the All-Star break. The Pistons’ center offers limited defensive value, which lowers his fantasy ceiling. Over the past two weeks, Duren has been an eighth-round player in nine-cat formats, one round worse than his season-long value. He’ll provide points, rebounds and a high field-goal percentage, but Duren will need to bring more to the table if he’s to become a top-75 caliber player in fantasy basketball.

Now a double-digit scorer in four straight games, Duren matches his season-high with seven assists on Tuesday. The Pistons center has recently seen his fantasy value decrease, as he has provided 12th-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. Dips in rebound and defensive production are responsible for that, with Duren averaging 8.9 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game. Duren is ranked safely within the top 100 for the season, exceeding his Yahoo! ADP of 96.

With Cade Cunningham being a late scratch for Sunday’s game, there was room for others to step up offensively. Duren was one of the Pistons who answered the call, notching his first 20-point game since February 21. That was also the last time the third-year center recorded a 20-point double-double, with Sunday’s line raising Duren’s total to three this season. Duren is ranked just outside the top 100 in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. Detroit plays three games during Week 21, starting with the Spurs on Tuesday.

Duren picked up his second foul just four minutes into the first quarter. It appeared that it could be a long night for the 21-year-old center, but he managed to still play 28 minutes and was effective while he was out there. Duren recorded another double-double. He’s been a top-30 fantasy player over the last two months.

Duren extended his double-double streak to four games on Thursday, though it wasn’t enough to get a win. Duren has been fantastic in a few categories but hasn’t been a factor in the rest for most of the season. While that is fine for managers in category leagues, it limits his upside in points leagues. Still, he has had an excellent season, especially over the past two months, where he ranks just outside the top-25 in nine-cat formats.

Though he only played 25 minutes because of the lopsided score, Duren was able to record his third-straight double-double on Tuesday. He continues to be a double-double machine with an excellent field goal percentage, and the blocks have been hit-or-miss. Prior to having two swats in this game, he went three straight games without one. Before that stretch, he had 10 in two games. Still, Duren ranks inside the top-50 in nine-cat value over the past two weeks and will look to keep that up over Detroit’s final two games of the week.

Duren has recorded a double-double in four of his last five games, providing fantasy managers with consistent production. Since the break, the Pistons center has been a top 40 player in eight- and nine-cat formats, exceeding his season-long production on both. While Duren’s averages still aren’t as good as his 2023-24 numbers, he’s bounced back from a slow start, and the improved roster has also been a reason why his averages have taken a hit.

Despite not having backup center Isaiah Stewart for Monday’s game, the Pistons didn’t skip a beat, and Duren was one reason for that. Recording his fourth double-double in five games, he was also responsible for two steals and four blocked shots. Since the All-Star break, Duren has provided top-20 value in eight- and nine-cat formats, sitting just outside the first round in 12-team leagues in the latter. This is the player many fantasy managers hoped Duren would be before this season began, and he’s bounced back from a slow start.

Duren was fantastic on Saturday, recording his fifth double-double in seven games and a career-high six blocked shots. How out of the ordinary were the six rejections? Duren amassed a total of six in his previous 10 appearances. Over the past two weeks, he has been a third-round player in eight- and nine-cat formats. Of course, Isaiah Stewart (three points, four rebounds, one assist and four blocks in 14 minutes) getting into foul trouble led to Duren playing 30 minutes (or more) for just the fifth time since the beginning of February. He’s been good recently, but Duren managers should keep their expectations in check for a four-game Week 18.
