Diawara left Tuesday’s game against the Wizards with an ankle injury after scoring five points in four minutes of play. The 20-year-old forward was quickly ruled out for the rest of the night. Diawara has shown flashes in short spurts of playing time, but is yet to establish himself as a valuable fantasy asset.

Already without Jalen Brunson (ankle), the Knicks won’t have Josh Hart (ankle) for Saturday night’s game. His absence means that Diawara will start, which gives the rookie a shot at achieving fantasy relevance. However, he is not a must-stream player. McBride will get another start in Brunson’s absence and should be rostered in some 12-team leagues.

With Josh Hart unavailable due to a sprained ankle, Diawara made his second consecutive start on Monday. And the rookie took full advantage of the opportunity, hitting four three-pointers and scoring 16 points in the first half. Diawara wouldn’t offer much production in the final two quarters of Monday’s win. Still, he’s the latest example of a young Knicks player taking advantage of the opportunity given to them by head coach Mike Brown. Hart won’t play on Wednesday against the Spurs, either, meaning Diawara will get at least one more start.

The Knicks won’t have Josh Hart (ankle) for their three-game road trip, and his absence opens up a spot in the starting lineup. Diawara will make his second start of the week, having done so in Tuesday’s loss to the Timberwolves. He isn’t worth streaming in any fantasy league, but the second-round pick is worth watching for those competing in dynasty leagues.
